When i was watching this video my mother who has Alzheimer and is very hard to understand sometimes walked by and said "That boy is drawing very beautifully"
I told my husband and brother, who are both interested in art, to subscribe to your channel. I cast this video onto my TV so my husband could see what you do and all he could say was "this guy is my spirit animal. What's his name again?" I think he just subscribed
I haven't drawn in a long time, but these videos are great at setting a fire under my seat. I really like how you approach hair, it was always my biggest hangup. It usually looked like straw or banana bangs when I do it. I do hope you stay busy and keep on creating amazing work, friend
Wooooh! I would love to see you do a run on Wonder Woman or a miniseries or a graphic novel or something. You may have been asked this or addressed this already but I hope you can get Liam Sharp on for a chat sometime. Thanks for all you do, you rock!
Nivek Leveb same! Especially since he would make it a superhero story and not reduce Diana to SJW propaganda. She deserves better. I thought the film did a good job of avoiding that.
Great job! I don't like the modern books that much either. I'm surprised you own so many comics of hers, that's a lot. Do you think you can make a video naming off comics of hers that you enjoyed before the new Rucka run? Anyway, love how you drew her costume.
You should write a book "How to draw the van Sciver way" It is always interesting watching top cracks draw and listening to their thoughts. The condensed tips, tricks, thoughts, experiences would make it wonderful. And of course a Blue Ray with the chapters read and commented in your voice :)
First, indicating the points of the curve for the outline of the face, is an excellent suggestion. It would save me erasers! :) I notice you don't also indicate the proportions in your rough sketch, before you draw. At this point, you probably map them out, mentally, as you draw. How closely should you stick to strict rules of proportion? Are there any misconceptions about proportion that you've noticed?
Hey Uncle Ethan... Went back and watched this video - amazing work! We grew up reading George Perez in the 80s on both Wonder Woman and Teen Titans so we know him from both. Very recently we purchased his TPB from Boom Studios about the all-female super team Sirens. Art was great but the story was a bit convoluted. Of course we also know Mr. Perez from his Sisterhood of Superheroines video series, which was one of several inspirations for heroineburgh.com. Anyway, we loved your rendition of Wonder Woman, so please do more vids like this and a few less about Rose Tico :) Love, your fans at Heroineburgh in our satin tights fighting for our rights!
I'm catching up on these; this was fantastic, as usual. the art was great and this WW evocative of the character! Nothing against Gal Gadot, who does a fine job, but the best live action WW will always be Lynda Carter, even if the show was cheesy and the scripts not very great. She started the show as more of a model with good spirit and winning personality than an actress, but I really think she got much better fast. Even if the show still was a cheesy '70s adventure-action show.
This is very helpful and impressive. I hope can see takes on different female builds from Power Girl and Big Barda to Black Canary and Supergirl. Amazing work Ethan, thank you for the videos.
My wife is Wonder Woman. She wonders where the car keys are. She wonders what she's going to fix for lunch. She wonders why she married me... Etc, etc, etc.
EVS do you have any tips for lefties? I always start from the left handed side and draw to the right because I watch right handed artists draw. It's a hard habit to break.
I always assumed that for the movie they inverted the tiara to try and disguise the fact that Gal Gadot has virtually no forehead. Her head slopes back drastically after her eyebrows in a very bizarre and to my eye, unattractive way. The tiara adds head into that slope.
Hello sir, I just found your channel recently, going on a sjw star wars hate binge, and found your commentary to be absolutely hilarious and insightful. I must say, however, that this drawing tutorial was great, and I would recommend, and also request, that you keep these coming, with perhaps different famous characters or a particular emphasis on different techniques or components of your trade. Thank you. Keep it up.
Ethan; Mile High comics online shows many Adventures of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis but not #12 in mostly fair grade. Mycomicshop . com shows just a few issues. I have ordered from both and they have been exceptional.
