@@abrahambazo i saw her in “Into the Woods” as the Baker’s Wife at the Hollywood Bowl. It was amazing. Cast included Patina Miller, Skylar Astin, Sierra Boggess, Cheyenne Jackson. Sooo good! And what a venue!

I'd give anything to see this or a time machine back 10yrs. Looking forward to music man but she is so iconic in this role I'd love them to record and release

Porter gets plenty of attention from the jazz world 😁

You're kidding right?? Cole Porter is one of the most celebrated songwriters and composers of the 20th century both in America and overseas. The Great American Songbook would be half the size without Porter's brilliant song catalogue. The man was not only a Broadway *and* Hollywood legend but he's also the subject of not just one but *two* big budget Hollywood biopic films on his life & career. Can't say the same for George & Ira Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, Lorenz Hart or Oscar Hammerstein. Cole Porter is an icon and gets ample credit (as he should) for his incredible musical genius and his immense contributions to popular music in the early-mid 20th century. All the composers mentioned above are legends in their own right but the two names at the very top of any list when discussing the greatest American 20th century composers and The Great American Songbook are *always* Irving Berlin and Cole Porter.

Well the summer has been quite mild in London on the Thames where this was filmed as a promo for the show due to autumn at the Barbican Theatre.

Saw it twice,only went cos Robert lynsey was in it,sutton was amazing as were the whole cast,there wasn't one weak link in there,one of the best shows I've ever seen

I’m assuming you are unaware the reason she’s performing this on the one show is because she’s leading the west end cast?

@@joeywowdale9953 the reason it is coming to London as opposed to Broadway is that this IS the Broadway version but it's in London because no one was buying tickets to the Broadway show 🙄

She will be busy with the Broadway revival of The Music Man for a very long time.

Even better than watching on RU-vid (if you can get there, I'm still looking at logistics), the point of this segment is promoting Sutton's reprising of her role as Rino in Anything Goes, in London at The Barbican theatre this Summer/Autumn, for all shows in the run.😀

Sutton Foster was won two Tony awards so far in her career - one for Thoroughly Modern Millie and the other for Anything Goes on Broadway. i think it's the cloudy skies, it feels very dystopian at least for me

for me it’s how toned down or Proper everything is like they should be livelier or smthn idk

The original Broadway company went through the trenches together on a shoestring budget that became the hit of the season. We were all struggling with our beloved costume designer Marty Pakledinaz’s brain cancer diagnosis during rehearsals and his eventual death on closing night. The company was an incredibly close knit family. Sutton laughed, cried and celebrated every personal and professional breakup, makeup, marriage, birth, death, struggle and victory with every cast and crew member. What you saw on stage was the joy of pushing through with Sutton at the helm. That’s tough to recreate. Sutton is exactly what you see. well she DID age, BUT for the better of course. She looks better NOW than in 2011 in my opinion. Just my 2 cents. you may disagree.

@@MrDavey2010 I read a couple of recent reviews that mentioned some weak points in the London cast.

She has the blond bob now -- literally just saw her at the Barbican and she was excellent as expected :D
