Okay, but I havent indicated any negativity towards the f14 here, in fact I can't way to pilot the aircraft. Heatblur have done an outstanding job from what I can see in the preview. As for being superior, this may be so, I like the f18 also, I suspect a lot of comparisons between aircraft by desktop warriors is largely conjecture.

@flyingeagle357 pfft The Eagle even in reality isnt some untouchable standard... our F-14 squadrons and even 18s beat them all the time during training events. great aircraft but not the be all end all some (usually armchair pilots that never served in aviation) pilots would like you to believe.. and in DCS they arent even in the same league.. FC3 LOW FI vs the most accurate F-14 sim ever built outside of the military..

It has a higher G-limit, more powerful engines (even with later replacements for the F-14), a lighter empty weight, and a higher rate of climb. It's empty weight is only slightly heavier than the F-15C. If both planes are fully-loaded (not good for maneuvering), then the F-15E and F-14D would actually have comparable thrust-to-weight ratios. With the wings fully unswept, the F-14 models might have better low speed maneuverability than the F-15E, however. -The Israelis THOROUGHLY evaluated both, and found that the F-15 was better in maneuverability, better in dog fighting, cheaper to operate, and better suited for their needs. Remember that the F-14's main selling point was the Phoenix--great for defending a carrier battle group at 200 miles out against cruise-missile packing bombers, but not so good when the enemy is five minutes flying time from the border. Now to go into Missile and avionics Radar The F-14's radar is just not as good as the F-15's period. It was older tech, required more manual filtering, and it was optimized for use over the sea, which means it has mediocre terrain clutter filtering. Operating the radar was kind of like an art performed by the RIO. The skill of the RIO using the various filters and settings produced the nice (or ugly) radar picture seen by the pilot. Whereas in the F-15, this is all done automatically and care-free. RWR The RWR of the F-14 was not as accurate or sensitive as the one in the F-15, simply because it was older tech. Medium/long range missiles Phoenix , good for taking out bombers at long range. The F-15 has the AIM-120B/C which are better against fighter sized targets than the AIM-7M and AIM-54 carried by the F-14. 2-man crew vs 1-man crew Some people say that having a 2 man crew is a good thing, but I think it's a double edged sword. It's true that there's increased SA but the coordination required takes a lot of effort and dedication, especially when someone else is operating your radar and you have to rely on them. In the F-15 you don't have to worry as much about coordination so it's easier to focus in the combat. Tldr F14 is good but its main role is a interceptor. F15 is overal a better air superiority fighter this is not saying that tactics and skill can overcome and beat eagles.

@flyingeagle357 I know I am a DCS simmer myself.. I used F15E as a reference just to prove a point, that even the Heavier Strike Eagle still has some maneuvering advantages over the Tomcat. Again i know this might be known facts to some, but cleary not all people. But as you say he is probably just a Blinded tomcat faboi and isn't interested in factual analysis.
