I have the same radio, I have the 5555 & the 6666, am also in the Uk, great on the UK40Fm channels too, I have a KPO Power microphone to pair, both radios work great, Eu Market & made by CRT on France. 👋 although an old video i thoroughly enjoyed it, from your Doppelganger 407, Manchester Nw Coast 🇬🇧
Ok thanks twitch. I appreciate your thoughts. Im also gonna check out the at 6666n. Maybe i ll do a little more checkin before i jump on one of these. Merry Christmas. Danny
Danny Gavin happy holidays to you and your family as well.. And honestly. Stay away from the 6666.. I had one of thoes and it wasn't what I was expecting it to be.. It's an okay radio but it has its down sides..... I'm in the works of making a new video for RU-vid now.. And it's on this present Lincoln 2 version 4... And for around 300 bucks new. Well worth it honestly... I have the 3rd one ever made and was sent to me for testing like a year ago and I should have a video out by the end of today just in time for Christmas lol.. Anyways.. Nice chatting with you.. 73 for now from the great northwest..
What type of modifications are you trying to make just bump up the power? I mean if you just want to peek into it that's fine but if you go too high on these they sound like crap... if you're just trying to get better modulation out of them, I would consider a road devil mic and a good tune up... but you could change the mosfets out for different ones depending on what power level you're going for but if you put too much power into it The Regulators can't really hold up over time like traditional surface mount technology does... but on average you can get about 40 to 50 Watts on these if my memory serves me right I don't have this radio anymore..
It all depends on what radio you have. Some are done to the radio with a switch and knob and some you got to reprogram. And some you even have to cut a jumper in it.. If your talking about the AT 5555 that I have on here, then the processes is done by moving a jumper I believe.. Honestly I can't remember. I no long have this unit. But I think it was a combination of a jumper being moved and you had to turn the radio on while holding buttons down.. Sorry very bad memory at times. The best place to get the information you are looking for is QRZ or there is a few videos which Mr wizard made and one or two the cb radio magazine made that shows how to do this.. I hope that helps Alittle bit of anything man. Sorry couldn't be much more help.... O just remembered.. Go to Bellscb. Com... He has some things on his website as well as the cb radio magazine site.
Wow,ok. Maybe i need to rethink this whole thing. My radio man has the lincoln, not sure if its the 2 or not. He says its so so but he can be kinda picky. Maybe i ll slow down and see if anything else catches my eye. Lookin forward to your lincoln video. Thanks. Danny
Hey bud, sorry to comment on such an old video but i am considering gettin the 5555v6( think thats version 6) and was just wondering how the radio held up and is there anything i should be aware of? Thanks for any help. Merry Christmas!! Danny
Danny Gavin.. Ya it held up. Okay.. I uploaded to the newest President Lincoln which is essentially the same radio just more features and better laid out. These Raiders are awesome on sideband but am is something missing I guess but is very clear and readable
Don't really remember.. But what I do remember is it's in a menu and you have to press something when turning it on.. Sorry I couldn't be more help.. Know there is something on RU-vid or goggle about it tho..
