Sawadee khap my farangutan friends and puan puan khun Thai! This is the last video in the Songkran 2024 playlist and the vlog was filmed on our return trip back to Bangkok. We stopped off at Ao Prachuap for the night - although I thought we were in Ao Manao, which is the next beach to the south. This quiet spot is the opposite of lively Hua Hin 100km north. It is also 200 km from Chumphon to the south.
We stayed at the Sun Beach Hotel which cost 1000 THB for the night. There is a sign offering 700 THB per night, but it was a public holiday. Public Holiday = Price hike. The rooms were clean but could use some TLC and a lick of paint. They also look old-fashioned with furnishings and decor decades out of date. Still, it did the job for the night and the pool and gardens were nice.
In the vlog we walk pretty much the entire promenade to Saranwithi Pier. It was a pleasant enough walk with the cool breeze off the sea. Hopefully we will one day see more of this area as I have heard it is rather pretty, Ao Manao for example, and there is some interesting wildlife in the area. It could be a future video.
