"You rubbin y'all asses... What--?" I JUST LOVED his confused expresion. xD At 1:58 And laughed so hard at 2:28 and 04:12 HAHAHAH xDDDDDDD First time i laughed so much with a MV reaction. hahahah
Nothing against this guy, but I find it funny that some people say "Kpop is mostly about sexy concepts" yet somehow never say that about western pop which is 99.99% consisted of way more explicit sexual concepts (should I even mention hip hop MVs?) and has started the whole sexual explicitness in the media long ago. I mean, in Korea, an average girl doesn't do sexy moves like these, especially not in public and is actually exceptionally polite, nice mannered and dignified...however an average western girl (these days) does all this twerking, grinding on stranger's groin, sexual lip moves and other type of sexual flirting while having a boyfriend as if it was nothing!! In the west that seems to be considered almost completely normal these days, and I just can't wrap my mind around that. I would have sworn that just a decade or two ago term "girl/woman" stood for a human being that is nice, kind, sweet, gentle, nicely mannered, dignified and moral and who very well knows when is the appropriate time and place for a certain thing...much like a lot of Korean girls, and Asian girls in general. I hope I haven't insulted any westerners here, it wasn't my intention. I very well understand that there are good and bad as well as dignified and primitive people in every country, but certainly some obvious statistics do exist, and I can't help but to point them out, as I'd rather risk to be falsely accused of being "a nationalist" than sitting still and saying nothing in defense of one beautiful nation such as Korea :) (possibly one of the last places on earth where women are still women, and where people still value true values such as morals, respect for elders, friendship, love and last but definitely not least - family) Sincerely yours, -25 years old male fighter for justice from Serbia :)
You hear that about kpop because you are on kpop videos. I'm sure if you went to a lot of western music videos you'd see comments about it being overly sexual.
essenceofsoul27 Yes, but you'll agree not as often as they comment on Kpop's concepts. And I guess that may be because it's a bigger surprise when girls that aren't known for overly sexual concepts (Asian women) do that, than those who have been doing it since 70s (western women). Kind of like when a person that never swears or yells, suddenly swears out loud so everyone is surprised, but a person that always swears and complains and yells is rather ignored...
Rosumisorimu I know when I go on Rihanna or Miley's videos it' full of slut this or slut that. Not to mention how much flack they get for using their bodies in a sexual way on their videos (depending on the video). They are still able to promote and still able to gain fan because although there are people calling them names and trying to shame them into being more of a role model, the music is good. Whereas in kpop, it doesn't matter if the music good, if you've crossed a line, they don't still get the same chances. Take Marionette for example, I forgot the groups name but the song was good, the video was too in your face sexual and thats all people cared about. I get your point though about being used to something vs not being used to it.
essenceofsoul27 Yeah but the reason that Miley girl has so many comment is cause she is so worldwide famous and people are prone to comment negative stuff more the more one is famous. I was talking about some average hip hop music videos that may have few millions of view on youtube but definitely not super famous. Barely anyone is going to say "sluts" on such vids even though they are even more sexual even than Rihanna/Miley or whoever. So that's what I based my comment on. But I guess I don't give a damn as long as average Korean people stay as awesome as they are and as long as most kpop girl groups stay as classy as they were (SNSD is a great example).
Rosumisorimu I guess we will just have to agree to disagree on the comments for popular and non-popular western singer comments. In hip hop videos, I'm guessing your talking about the video girls. I didn't realize we were comparing dancers in a video to the actual artist. I've seen those comments on all videos that have women being overly sexualized. But I guess since America hasn't tried to uphold that pure image in music for a very very long time, people tend to think everyone is fine with it all. I personally think you have every type in every culture. Kpop lyrics have been sexual for years it's just that the dances are just starting to match up to the lyrics on a more regular basis now. I love kpop or I wouldn't be on these videos. But I wish people would stop putting it on this imaginary pedestal Question though, are you Korean or do you live in Korea? I'm only asking because I'm wondering how you would know what the average Korean person is like...
First time I'm watching your videos, and I like your chill, funny reactions! You don't try to overdo your reactions, which is really nice. Instant subscribe!
Why no one knows the name of AOA members.. Here..i'm not Korean too but yet AOA are my Favorite At 1:53..from left to right Hyejeong,Mina,Yuna,Seolhyun,Choa,Chanmi and Jimin Choa is the Cute Short Hair Blond One..and she is my Bias
It was all right, not sexual to the point of being trashy, so I liked that. That said, I'm not usually one to compare groups, but this reminded me too much of various video concepts and dances by SISTAR and even a little bit of Afterschool/Girl's Day. Good effort though! :D
