I just bought one, it has bad black level, backlight bleed and a bloody dead pixel in the middle of the screen(!), I thought dead pixels were a thing of the past. It has nice features for it's price, but beware that quality is so and so.
I bought this monitor not long ago, it's a very nice monitor for it's pricing I also have the Bagger version 32" Curved 1440p. They are very good in combination altough you can see the difference in size.
@@Hxngmxn thankyou brother, i recently bought a ps5 and monitor and never used a monitor so when i shut down the ps5 the monitor also shuts down i think. I was just afraid of leaving it and while time is on it overheats or somerhing
For gaming/programming do you think this is better or Gigabyte G27F? Or you suggest any other around the same price range? Super helpful video..keep it up.
@@Geek-jx3gw I would go with the AOC. It has a better overall view and the brand is more known. I do not have either of them though, that's why I cannot give a 100% detailed description of the differences.
@@Geek-jx3gw Both are, probably. Since you can''t physically feel/experience the other one, you cannot really know which one is better, so that's why I usually go with more known brands that are very experienced in making their specific products (in our case monitors), such as AOC, Acer Nitro, etc etc.
Hardly a point to complain about a 1080p monitor being 1080p ;-) There's a "Q" model that cobers 1440p. I chose the 1080p version because I don't want (default) tinier typefaces, I want an easily readable picture and thi is just right. Also great for gaming framerates, of course.
My monitors frame rate read out isn’t accurate I don’t think. It doesn’t match the CPU’s frame rate count and it doesn’t really move and say I’m getting 60 frames only.
I have a big box store desktop (HP - OMEN Gaming - Intel Core i7-9700 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti - 1TB Hard Drive + 256GB SSD - Shadow Black) Assuming that I won't be upgrading it for years...(Budget
What do you think about the white/black levels on this monitor? I went to a friend's house and he had an IPS monitor as well, but damn, the IPS glow was really bothering me, also, the "white" (like on google, amazon, reading a document, etc.) wasn't really white, it was... slightly dirty and yellowish?? We watched a few episodes of an anime and like, there was a very dark prison scene where the IPS glow just butchered it, the whole scene looked like dark blue. I couldn't even see the face of the black guy in the cell. (I'm not joking, I swear).
The white balance is something that can be tweaked in the menus. Difficult to do precisely without a colorimeter but you can just play around with the colours in the user colour mode until it looks right. As for IPS glow, it really depends on your priorities. If sitting back and watching a movie in a dark room is a priority for you when buying a gaming monitor then, yes, IPS glow can be annoying (depending on your viewing angle) and the better contrast of a VA panel might be preferred. However, for everything else (work, general desktop use, and gaming) the better colour stability, overall viewing angles and faster response time (compared to VA) of IPS means I'd always recommend it.
@@TechyTalkUK Hmm thanks for the reply! I mean I was right in front of the monitor and still got a bad IPS glow and couldn't really tell what was going on in those dark scenes. Also I play A LOT of dark games, and if IPS Glow is gonna ruin my experience with those then I think my best bet is to get a VA/TN panel.
Does this model still have the same contrast ratio or was it also affected by the panel change the 24g2 had, lowering contrast ratio for response time?
So I'm using this for ps3/ps4. Are the default settings best or could it better? I wanna get the best out of this but afraid to overdo the settings and make things worst... the main thing is is that I'm trying to avoid input lag
It does not work with Adaptive/ Free Sync! Got the E-Mail in the morning from AOC. Tryed with a GTX 1060 (6GB) and a RTX 2060 SUPER, both are not able to work with G-Sync on that Monitor.
I'd be very surprised if it got certification if that were the case. I don't think I've still got that monitor to run more tests on other cards but it definitely worked with my gtx 1080 ti.
i have a gtx 1660 super and it works flawlessly. as soon as i connected the monitor the GTX drivers detected it. Did you enable the correct settings in your drivers?
I'd get the AOC. You could get a higher resolution screen with that rtx 2070 super, though, as you should get great frame rates in most games at 1440p. Something like the Asus VG27AQ or LG 27GL850 would be a good fit. They are more expensive though.
@@Anth.440 yes the difference is huge between 60hz and 144hz i'd really recommend it but i dont really reccomend a 240hz because the difference between 144 and 240 is minimal so it would save you money too and judging by your specs u should be able to run everything above 144hz i think
Can someone help me out,i have a very bad image in games. If i put anti aliasing in ultra it looks like in lowest settings, same goes for texture anisotropy 16x looks like it has turned off.
Thanks! There are a few alternatives - a few more than I thought, actually, having just checked again - but the AOC is the cheapest and you don't lose anything in terms of features to the more expensive models. Without stepping up to a higher resolution (or refresh rate - 240Hz models are now available but for just under twice the price), there's no reason that I can see to spend more. If you can't find this particular monitor, the LG 27GL650F-B and Viewsonic XG279S should be good alternatives, depending on price in your area.
Hello, what cable do you use to get access for 144hz? HDMI? And if so, what HDMI cable? I'm only allowed 60/120hz depending on the scale in pixels. Please help :(
So If I get this monitor would I be able to play 120Hz on my PS5 with no issues at all? Because I had the AOC 27G2 and I had a issue where it kept running 60Hz when the monitor goes up to 144Hz
hello,i have 27g2u model, but dont have freesync option in the menu only g-sync. adrenalin dont recognize it as freesync monitor as it grays that out. help?
Im currently using the MSI Optix G271 and I'm planning on making my purchase for the AOC27. Both monitors have the same performance although looking at the AOC27, given the ability to adjust the armstand unlike the MSI Optix G271 is what makes this monitor unique. And the AOC27 looks better.
Very good review! I have just one question that i cant find information about anywhere: does this monitor share the same panel (IGZO) with his smaller brother AOC 24G2 ? Or is it just a normal ips ? Thank you if anybody can answare :)
Hi they should be the same panel for both models. I bought AOC 24G2 last year and so far so good. 24G2 has a higher pixel density than 27G2. Like most people say if you sit not to close to 27G2 which has 1080p you should be ok 🙂
So you were playing Apex Legends in nthe video .. i see that its not that Smooth Gameplay is that because the Monitor is bad or you couldnt Reach 144 HZ because of your Graphic Card !!?
Yeah, I shot that footage using my spare PC and it only has a GTX 1060 so was only getting 40-60fps - I really should get it upgraded. Tested the monitor using a GTX 1080ti in my main rig though.
dude... anything is better than TN. TNs are literal garbage. I switched from VA to IPS and it was a huge deal in terms of colors, I can't imagine from TN to IPS how it would be.
Hello, please help me. Im targering on two monitors. option1. iiyama g-master gb2470hsu-b1 (165hz) price PLN 799 ($ 213) currently, IPS option2. Acer kg251qdbmiipx (240hz) price PLN 1049 ($ 280) currently, TN Does it make sense to pay extra 250 PLN (66$) if i want to play ONLY cs go? Or is there a better monitor that beats above monitors? price +- 1100PLN (293$) I want new monitor, not used. Thanks!
So you can just enable freesync on this monitor via your display settings on your monitor? I want buy this with xbox Series s. And is it also hdmi 2.0?
Hello, I hope you're doing well, I'd have a question : I have this monitor in its curved version (27"", 2560x1440, 144Hz) but I don't find how to rotate it clockwise ? It can tilt it and rotate by its stand but not make in 'vertical' as you do at 1:15 :( Do you know if it's just no possible in the curved version ? the stand seem the same, but I feel like I'd break it if I try to rotate it. THanks you.
Hi! I just purchased this monitor and it's working great, I just have an issue/question: what purpose do the USB's on the back serve? I am asking because I have 2 laptops (work and personal) plugged to the screen. I can switch easily but I also need to manually re-plug my peripherals (keyboard, mouse, headset) to each laptop and it's a hassle. Do I need a separate USB switch or a KVM?
You would be able to plug you keyboard and mouse into the monitor then use the one usb hub cable from the monitor to switch between laptops. You'd still need to manually move the cable but saves you having to do it for both keyboard and mouse. You'd need a separate KVM to switch on the fly.
I would generally recommend wqhd for 27in but it depends on where you have the screen and what you use it for, plus wqhd is quite a lot more expensive. A bIgger screen can be nicer for when you want to sit back and watch video or if you have a deep desk - you can have the screen further back on the desk. But if you only ever sit close and have a small desk then you might prefer the 24in. I've just got in the 24G2U (and seven other 24in gaming monitors!) and will be posting a review soon - it's great!
@@TechyTalkUK thanks for your gentle reply, I just found this monitor used for 170 euros the owner told me that it is in great condition no dead pixel or similar, I usually stay about one meter (90/100 cm) away from screen, mostly I will use pc just for web but also to play games (mostly fps in single player but also more quite games 🤣) anyway my build is old for a qwhd ( I5 4690 and rx 570 8 gb) my desk is deep 40 cm, I was looking for the 24' model but actually is out of stock everywhere, so 27' for a fhd is a bad choice?
I just bought this monitor and it’s great and all but the problem is that it’s not that stable. Every time I kinda touch the monitor it kinda looks it’s about to fall over. Anyone know how to fix it?
I bought this exact monitor a couple weeks ago and after a while of using it, it seemed much smaller than 27 inches. So i measured it and it came out to be 24 inches and not 27 like it says on the box that I still have with me. After all I don't know why they have the name "27" in the name when its a 24 inch monitor.
Yeah? He showed the stand being taken off lol as long so you have a mounting bracket just pop the stand off screw in the bracket and use whatever mount you have
Depends what your first monitor is and what you want from a second monitor. It's perfect as a second screen that you can switch to for gaming (that's what I do - got a 34in ultrawide as main screen and 1080p 240hz as secondary for FPS games).
Hi, i also use aoc27g2 but mine only shows 120hz, i used hdmi, if i use dp caple will it get 144hz right ? and my nvidia control panel not showing dislay setting, I don't understand why it doesn't show up.
Complete newby at gaming and descovered I'm not half bad at FPS games but I'm on just a normal TV (in the lounge) do I stand a better chance at blowing peoples heads off lol mine has a strange line that goes down the screen and by the time it's got to the bottom I am dead 😂must be insanely quick who I'm playing or attempting to haha , Ty
@@bojantottiz yes brate ,go to settings in resolution and scroll down ,put it on 1080 i think,im not home now ,so dont let it on rexommanded you will se 144 hz
I believe it has a low blue light mode, though I can't remember specifically and can't find mention of it on AOC's website. Most monitors have such a mode these days.
