Japanese looks like a decent choice to start with now, but later on you want to swap to a civilization that fits your main lineup. With this budget, I'd say either Leonidas comp, or Miyamoto. You can also aim for a late game Mulan, or invest into heroes that scale well such as Suleiman, Lü Bu, etc.

Hahaha I feel you, I was surprised when I started AoEM too. But I love AoE too much and I really think this one can be good, despite the marketing choices. The devs have made good changes to make it better for F2P, so I'll stay optimistic! Find a chill alliance and enjoy the game whether you spend or not, and if you like it you can enjoy a battle pass every now and then 😏
as a former rok player i have played aoem for 2 days i recognised the potential of YSS 5 target and you can custom build it please make a detailed video on his pairing, since he is strategy and not many yss pairings
Early on, swordsmen provide more choice, especially since you get King Derrick for free and up to 5 stars if you are active. They scale well too. Pikemen are more interesting for F2Ps once you get Boudica, but their counterattack mechanics can still carry you through a lot of events.
Thanks for another great guide! Two questions: 1. With pikemen being so popular right now, wouldn't it make sense to go all in on their counter troop (swordsmen I believe)? And 2. That music at the end, is that AI generated?

It's being worked on hehe, hopefully I can do them all before release. I have no problem with Bluestacks honestly, sometimes it has trouble launching but once you're in, it runs smoothly

i was a low spender on rok the thing i bought was growth fund, thats all then i found value in minmaxing t4 troops infantry pakal harlad , i warred with this march a lot it was a fun march i dont think i can have 5 marches with p2w pouring , and since everyone is building leoinidas, boudica and richard does it make sense for me to go this path? i am not sure about hero progression in this game , from expeirence i think pikeman are early game only , cavs and inf will be midgame and archer late bloomers , but since it take time to build a perfect 3 commander march i am hesistant to go with pikeman, i want a longevity march , how is suntzu ? and strategy damage
For now archers indeed seem to be more of a lategame-ish unit type, but they lack proper supports to actually be godlike. SunTzu and Suleiman lineups deal good damage and scale very well in the long term, with many good rings to equip and upgrade.
