I saw Aiofe in Savannah, met her and she signed a CD I bought. Such an unassuming person, not a diva and doesn't seem to seek celebrity. She played the next night with the Punch Brothers and was flawless in both performances. A treasure that deserves recognition, if not fame.
I'll be down in Savannah next month for the Festival and have tickeets to see her with a Celtic stringed quartet (Martin Hayes). Hopefully Paul Kowert and Brittany Haas stick around from the prior day's show (or vice versa as Aiofe you're more than welcome to sit in with Hawktail). Such is life and beautiful music.
I got to see Aoife last night in VA and we had a sing along to this song. The venue was actually in someone's back yard under a tent and it was raining cats and dogs. Her voice was so clear and strong though. She is very inspiring and I was riding a feel good wave. Too bad about the crash back to my mundane reality today but that's life. I hope to see her again some day.
Just watched her in transatlantic sessions on wcmu tv. She sang it softer on the tv session. this is still my favorite song. And she is the best to sing it so far.
Aoife, I've listened to this song at least 20 times in the last few years... it's a crazy sexy video... your lyrics & voice, your expressions, that dress, those boots. You are amazing.
Discovered Aofie while listening to Sarah Jarosz. Love the both of them. Please do yourself a favor and listen to their duet in the Aspens. Song is called Some Tyrant. Gives me much hope as to the future of music.
I just found her by chance on RU-vid Music and haven't been able to stop listening to her since! Would love to see her do a show! How refreshing to hear some quality music in a sea of such aggressive non - musical sounds coming out the radio /phone today! She's MY hero!! Bravo!
