I just finished Thriller Bark and passed the infamous 405 episode. I gotta say, I never knew One Piece was so FIRE. This is one of the few that had me in tears. The story telling and scenery for every setting is always super cool.

Aokiji is definitely Mihawk level. He is a monster and he casually displayed one of the biggest attacks up to this point. He was as relaxed as a certain character with an OP kick a few arcs later. But the whole Robin backstory will be fire. They will definitely enjoy it.

One piece's pacing wasn't really an issue pretimeskip, this was just how anime long runners were back then. The real drag moments started really after the timeskip.

When it comes to freezing people and having them survive, it may be possible but we dont have what we need to freeze them in such a way they survive. Aokiji apperently does though so its fine.
