I thought my AOS frame was pretty locked in until I tried Chris's preset tune, and wow. Night and day difference. After a few seconds getting used to the difference in feel, I realized I had way more control over the quad and it was flying so much smoother than before with minimal prop wash. I'm very grateful for all the information you've shared with the community and I'm really loving your frame. Thanks Chris!
@@TheTuterTieuli just performance in general, I'm too a beginner you can try and see the difference. You can always go back anyway so nothing to worry about
I just finished building my 3.5 EVO last night. Haven't test flown it other than a short hop as proof of life 🐸 just started searching for tuning suggestions and this video came up. im so happy (also have a 5, a 5.5 and a 7 in the build queue. Looks like tuning will be the easy part)
just wrapped up mu UL7 build and was hoping you had a tune for it! you should def put this link in the UL7 intro video if it wasnt there already. had a first baby test flight today, was very light and floaty but def had some jitters on a "no tune at all" setting haha...we'll see what tomorrow brings!
Chris I'm trying to use your AOS 3.5 tune but when I save and reboot I get a Warning saying Configuration has been applied with cli errors .... if I scroll through the cli list it says #set anti_gravity_gain= 80 anti_gravity_gain= 80 #set anti_gravity_cutoff_hz =5 ###ERROR IN SET : INVALID NAME #anti_gravity_p_gain =100 ###ERROR IN SET : INVALID NAME What do I do ?
I have a problem with the AOS 5 filter preset. The Dterm filtering is making my motors very hot and I have thristling motor noise when throttling up, and pretty severe vibrations. when I switch to default Dterm filter, it runs great with the rest of the preset.
stella work as always chris👌I have a separate question basically I was wondering if you could help me with regards to a 3d print ?, I sourced some mcx to sma adapters for dji goggles 2 a couple of pounds included delivery !! instead of dropping 20 bucks+ but could do with the inserts that come with the kit but obviously they don't sell them separately so as your definitely 3d savvy could you please design or 3d scan some inserts for the community if possible kindest regards christian ✌.
Bought a AOS EVO 7 frame and wondering if there is a preset recommendation for INAV 7.1 available .. Cinematic Flight (Screenshots or something like that will do)
I plan to try the tune today. Just have charged 4 packs, radio charged and tune applied. Have a golden O3 frame on analogue, but heavy 16 mm FPV Cycle motors. No action camera, however 850 mAh 4S packs. So a bit on the heavy side, but a lot of punch from the motors. Very curious now :-)
Hey Chris. I have got feedback on your frame. Is there any chance you can make one with thicker arms? Even though it may be a little heavy? Maybe like a Bando addition as I have been just too many arms
Totally agree with this. I have a AOS 5 v2 and I understand it’s not advertised as a bando basher it just flies so freeking well I want to use it everywhere.
I tried your preset on AOS UL7 and it flies great on light batteries but awful on heavier li-ions - wobbles like crazy. Since it is a long range I would expect the tune to work for the bigger batteries. Is there anything simple, like master multiplier, that I can try to fix it?
thank you for all the work you do, always precise and thorough. I have had a beautiful AOS 5 EVO O3 6S bnf iflight for a few months (April 2023). It arrived already set up with betaflight 4.2 Now I decided to upgrade to version 4.4 and installed your presets (filters and tunes). Something really strange happened: the drone flies well but on a couple of occasions I lost control (the best way to describe it is a sort of slow death roll, weird desync or MIN throttle) and the drone crashed with the engines stopped. OSD and telemetry remain connected but the esc no longer responds: it does not rearm, it does not activate the esc buzzer. If I unplug everything and plug it back in, everything works again. Unfortunately I only have the video stabilized in HD, now I register the osd and blackbox for safety. I don't know if it depends on the settings or on the various crashes that the drone inevitably suffered... But can you tell me what could be the cause?
Hey Chris I applied the 5” preset with your checked recommendations to my very very clean v1 on 4.4 and the motors sounded terrible with throttle before actually lifting off so I didn’t. I turned tracking from 2.5 to 1.5 (like it show in your video) and master to 1.15 and it’s about perfect. Carrying session 5, 1050-1300mah, 1700kv and gyro lowpass 2 off 3.2k/3.2k Thinking about turning up d to resolve some prop wash on ugly descents. Any thoughts? Side note: I can fly this quad unlike any other, feels like we are defying laws of physics 😅
Do you still use/recommend to use the following cli commands? You didn’t mention them in your latest tuning guide: set_pidsum_limit = 1000 set_pidsum_limit_yaw = 1000
Hi, I new to fpv but just got an AOS3.5. I am getting a lot of jitters on my video and dont know what to do. iflight support gave me a different tune in case it helped, which it did but not completly. Maybe trying one of your presets will help me?
I get a caution notice when in the PID tab and turning the master multiplier slide up saying “caution slider positions may cause flyaways, motor damage, and unsafe craft behavior. Please proceed with caution.” Anyone know why I might be getting this message? My quad flys great and my motors are not hot, should I be concerned with the error message?
This is completely normal mate. I think you get this warning when going above 1.4 if I remember rightly. Just increase until your happy with how locked your quad feels.
@@cinemoriahFPV true, but this is an educational channel that people new to the hobby come to for information. We shouldn't be teaching them dangerous habits from the start.
Hi Chris, flying a very tight 6s build in AOS 5 frame T motor stack and motors. I gave your presets a go because I'm literally awful at tuning and filters. Propwash is terrible over the UAV tech preset that is in Betaflight default.
I have noise issue on my AOS 5.5 O3 with avatar video link Camera dempfer make vibration and gelloy I do my best to create a clean build, bun noise on frame is terrable - worse than Apex 5 DC I try 2 flyght controller (Matek F405TE-mini with ICM gyro and SpeedyBee F405v3 with BMI270 gyro. SpeedyBee have better result, but realy not ideal) I can proof that, but youtube block link's
What's your email Chris? I have prepared few pictures with crazy noise that I get from LR5 v1. I don't think that's normal, and I haven't seen those lines of noise before anywhere..
Does it matter for the tune what motors and other components are on the frame? I have an AOS 3.5 v2 with fpv cycle 16mm motors running 4s. Currently running pretty much stock betaflight tune and I’m not very happy with how it flies.
Thank you so much! I'm just about to build my AOS 3.5 EVO as my first ever build and this will be of immense help (only had whoops and one 3" bnf). I was planning to start off with a tune from a youtuber and maybe improve it later after learning some basics of tuning. Now I probably don't have to. I'm planning to learn tuning in the future, but right now I have a lot on my plate with the building and configuration itself and this reduces my barrier to starting to fly. The weather *is good* where I am rn, so it matters :) I say this deserves another "coffee". I really admire the work and love you put in your frames! I'll also make sure to send my finished build later, since you asked :)
I applied your "AOS 3.5 tune by Chris Rosser" for my AOS V2 Frame and noticed this preset changed a filter setting that I did not expect - Turned on Gyro Lowpass 2 with 1000 Hz Static Cutoff Freq and Filter Type = PT1. In all your tuning videos, you have always recommended turning OFF Gyro Lowpass Filters Why are you adding this Gyro Lowpass 2 filter?
@ChrisRosser Hey Chris, I could really use your help. My last 3 7 inch builds have given me a fit. When I raise the throttle they just continue to go up in the air even when I lower the throttle to zero. The 10 inch just vibrates and goes crazy. That one used to fly. I'd appreciate your input. Thanks!
