It you like carne guisada, then check out my other recipe and see how I make it in a crock pot. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nJQ4OvQ0im0.html
If I could give this two likes I would. All the folks who say you can’t make tasty aoudad meals just haven’t looked to recipes like yours or curries etc. There’s always a way to make game delicious and you’ve shown that wonderfully.
Great, I am glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching. Here is a link to my other carne guisada recipe. It is excellent also and I show how to make it in a crock pot. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nJQ4OvQ0im0.html
Love your taco cooking there Chef! I'm actually going to try some of these different tacos using some of your methods. My wife has a love affair with tacos. lol
I made this with some forward shoulder and a hind leg. Removed the silver skin. Substitute the chili paste with the chili powder and it was really great. It was so tender and no wild taste whatsoever. I still have some more meat that I will make some more. Thank you very much for a such a great recipe.
Thanks for the sub. Glad you liked the carne guisada recipe I have another great recipe that I do in a crockpot that you may want to watch if you like carne guisada
Definitely can't say I have ever seen anyone cook this type of meat before :) Great tips on preparing it and cooking it. The finished product looks really delicious! :)
Chef, that looks really good!! I have had some Aoudad (Barbary) sheep meat that was bad and some that was great. It's all in the the care of the meat and the preparation in my opinion. You really did a great job on that!!
Thanks Mark. Good to finally talk to someone that has actually eaten it. You are correct about properly caring for wild game. You can cause an off flavor in your meat by not taking care of it. Of course that goes with anything. Now the ice water bath and cider vinegar will help with that allot. Thanks for watching and commenting
Excellent meal Chef. Tahts a really dark meat. I habe to google aoudad - not sure what it is. Looks similar to deer meat - and the finished product - i would not say no to a taste! Edit: googled it. Now i know what animal it is :)
Another fine example of the answer to whether you can make a taco out of something amount to it being that it is at least the case that you could---rather that you should.
I tell ya what that aoudad tasted great. I honestly did not know if it would or not. I was pleasantly surprised. Now I want to try to do some other things with it to see how it turns out. Thanks for watching and for the comment
@@TexasStyleCuisine At this point, it almost seems like an unspoken rule that if something has even a vague reputation as being "gamey" or some such---it probably just needs more apt means of cooking to dispel the stigma like a kid's game of telephone gone off the rails. Imagine if people judged a burger off hand on how well it boiled up...
lol you are correct, As for me I dont mind the taste of wild game and of course if you properly take care of it you loose allot of that so called gamey taste.
I yet to find a game animal that you "cant'' eat. They are all different but if you leave game meat in the field you are lazy and should take up something like golf. Aoudad, Javelina, wild pig.... Does it taste like Ag fed whitetail.... no. Can you make great food from it that almost any person would like ...YES. Proper handling makes all the difference. Thanks for a great video.
