These practice problems for AP® Chemistry will help you study for the test, and get a five!
www.tdwscience.com/apchem These multiple choice problems are written to be as close as possible to the real AP® Exam. They cover all of the usual topics: stoichiometry, gas laws, kinetics, equilibrium, acids and bases, thermodynamics, thermochemistry, electrochemistry, le chatter's principle, Gibbs free energy, entropy, and enthalpy. For each problem, we talk about the tips and tricks to solve it. We also work through strategies to outsmart the test, and see how to tackle concepts more quickly and efficiently. I hope this helps you ace the test and get a five!

I’m currently a senior in HS taking AP Chemistry, and this video helped solidify so many of the concepts I’ve learned so far. I am very anxious about the exam coming up, so your resources will be super helpful for me. I’ve been watching your videos since the beginning of high school of introductory chemistry. Your style of teaching is honestly the clearest and easiest to follow out of all the RU-vid STEM channels. I actually find myself using the same patient and step-by-step approach I saw through your videos towards peer-teaching my classmates tough topics, which helps me tremendously as well. Thanks for all you do! Please continue with the AP related videos and practice questions!

NO!!! the endpoint is when the indicator changes color, NOT when the moles of analyte and titrant are equal. the equivalence point is when moles titrant added = moles analyte initially present such that only the salt remains

I have a question on number 2, why is C not right? HNO3’s conjugate base is NO3^-1, so it does have a conjugate base and there is a proton being taken away?
@tdewitt451
@tdewitt451 Год назад
It’s a really good point, and I think I’ll change this question in the future. This was based on a College Board question where they implied that Brønsted-Lowry conjugates are best used to describe pairs for weak acids and bases. This was one of those “both are right, but one is more right” kind of questions. But it’s a bad question and I’ll change it.

For question 19 shouldn’t you switch the -0.13 since the oxidation equation is different it’s reversed which makes it positive 0.13
@tdewitt451
@tdewitt451 2 года назад
Great question! So you see how we subtract the negative here? That makes it positive 0.13. You have two choices, and they’re both valid. You can either subtract the anode value (without flipping it), or you can reverse the oxidation equation and flip the value. They will give you the same math. Does that make sense?

Hi. For problem 18, why is the q for magnesium not -420? Shouldn't it be negative since magnesium is losing heat in the reaction?
@tdewitt451
@tdewitt451 2 года назад
Yes, you could do it that way. But since you’re solving for the mass of the Mg, and you know mass won’t be negative, you don’t really have to worry about signs here. But yes technically qMg is negative and qH2O is positive. But again all we care about here is the magnitude.

Confused on 2. Why does it matter if the nitrate ion won’t actually accept a hydrogen ion. It’s still a conjugate base by definition, unless all strong acids and bases don’t have conjugates.
@tdewitt451
@tdewitt451 2 года назад
That’s the point. Strong acids don’t have conjugate bases. Conjugate bases need to be able to re-accept a proton and form the acid again. The nitrate ion can’t do this.
