+Falloutgirl69 Good. I feel like people can appreciate their music more, instead of burning all of their songs out on the radio like music from now. That makes them more special to me imo
+Falloutgirl69 But I LOVE that. if band like mayday parade and all time low and others were as popular as the mainstream artists there would just be so many more fake fans and people who just DONT really appreciate. I love that when I'm listening to their songs and somebody asks me what I'm listening to and I'm like "mayday parade" that they say "oh I don't know who that is" for so many reasons. maybe I'm just the only who feels this way, I don't know
+Brianna Carver I constantly mention mayday parade and like people have no idea who they are which is a shame because Mayday Parades songs have so much feel to them and emotion. not to mention that there perfect and Dereks voice Is just wow :D
+Miarevans Evans nothing without Jason Lancaster. maybe just a little something though cause I saw mayday last year and they we still amazing. but Lancaster adds more to the affect. They both just have so much emotion but different sounds and it makes a beautiful mix.
MaydayTheVeil He does that in every single song...Thats why I love Derek's voice so much. He doesn't just sing those songs. He actually feels them..You can literally hear the pain in his voice..I just feel like hugging him every time!
You can see some parts where his voice gets shaky ;_; aw. But really he is a fantastic musician and puts so much emotion into his music. As well as the rest of the band. Thank you so much derek for all your moving and beautiful songs
I love Mayday Parade, and I have loved them for almost 2 years now. Mayday Parade has became the only thing that keeps me going somedays. So I stumbled upon this video, and found it was posted on my birthday. I know I'm way too late, but I thought I would get this out.
He is the nicest guy ever, I've met them 2s in london, I have lovedddddddd MP for years, sadly 1 of my best friends committed suicide 2 years ago & I got to choose a song for his funeral & I chose "everythings an illusion" - MP story telling is on another level
I'm burned out like a bright light I wasn't ready for this You're adorable as hell, but I'm glancing at your wrist Oh, please have faith I can be so cavalier And when they start to ask questions I'll make sure to be clear When you see my friends, tell 'em "Hi" for me Tell 'em what you think about the way you handled everything You turned and all you left me with was this broken key So tell me what you think And give it up for the long nights And all those terrible fights Were you honest with yourself, every version of yourself? Did you get lost on the side of the road? If you keep acting this way, I swear I'll never come home When you see my friends, tell 'em "Hi" for me Tell 'em what you think about the way you handled everything We walk alone on this broken road for eternity So give me company and help me sing this lonely melody You turned and all you left me with was this broken key So tell me what you think Sign me up, no regrets, make a man out of me And I won't say a word And I'll give all the things that you want and I need Just to give me some peace At the bottom of the ocean there's a place for you and me Lead the way straight ahead You gave me the time of my life And it cut like a knife to the bone When you see my friends, tell them "Hi" for me And tell them what you think about the way you handled everything So neat and clean well the world is filled with such pretty things So do your best for me
This is an amazing song and its so beautifully sung... i just... I'm crying because he puts so much emotion into the songs when he sings and.. he's just such a great person.
I met him at a concert in Denver in 2008. Nobody recognized him but me and I had a good five minute chat with him (and strangely enough, his mother) without interruption. Very cool guy..amazing band.
Where you honest with yourself? Every version of yourself? you can hear his pain when he sings that, 23 year old male and he brings me to tears. That's why I love mayday.
Man the story is different but I feel the same pain. Everyone left me all broken and moved on and I'm still trying to pick up my pieces. I may never feel better again but I can at least feel comfort with trying to process everything with this song and the emotions.
dont listen to the other guy, its half step down, just youtube the tutorial on how to play it, brooks says it, the recording version is as well. and a large portion of their songs are tuned half step down.
I don't like how sometimes Mayday has recently been considered a band for girls, if anything these lines really relate to guys because they're written by a guy. I relate to this entire album, unfortunately. I'm an OG fan, but this album was a way to bring me back
I know right!?! It's the same with all time low!! Both bands, maybe more so mayday, are songs for guys to relate to and yet people think they are bands for girls
Got to catch them in Singapore and they had to do an intimate acoustic set cos only three(Jake wasn't there) of them manage to get here due to some unforeseen circumstances. The songs played were just beautiful and the crowd had back up vocals covered
Anyone know what guitar Derek is using? It's absolutely amzing, or it could be that he's an incredible guitarist, but either way, anyone know what guitar he uses? (I know it's Briarwood... but what series or model?)
+Curiosity Killed The Ki Well, not all, since there's too much of them. He keeps them in dozens of shoeboxes at home and switches a couple of bracelets everyday.
