Like I suck at multiple choice but for some reason the lord gave me the ability to successfully bs my way through the essays😂 but I can’t stay in a room for 3 hours and 15 minutes 😩
I have the Ap world history test on May 17th....and I’m trying to take notes on the whole book within a four day span. And I’d like to buy a noose from anyone who’s selling one.
I personally think AP World History is a very important class to take! Sure, I'm taking it to get college credits but at the same time, I feel like getting a general idea of our history as a whole (and not just US/European history) gives me a broader view of everything in this world. A super broad one that is.
I'm taking AP Bio and AP World. I have read a total of 1 chapter for AP bio and feel way more prepared for that than world, which I wave been reading the textbook. The difference is my Bio teacher is good and my World History teacher sucks
Glad I found this 2 days before the exam... didn't even know AP had an exam when I first took world history... but this definitely helps because the class is SO boring and the teacher really hasn't taught me anything.
Hey Josh! They changed the rubric for AP world history so that there is a short answer question section with 3 questions, and the test states how you can get points on the two essays.
My friend just legit doesn't do any of the readings. Like that's not how it works... you can't just not do the readings... and also complain about having a bad grade...
@@camilomarcano1805 it was fine, i got a 4 but it was a while ago i can’t remember that much. if know the rubrics u should be pretty good, but obviously knowing a good chunk of the content is important too. i hate APUSH so much more tho
i have my ap world exam on the 17th and i feel like NONE of my studying has helped! I've been reading two cram books, watching and taking notes on videos, and doing Albert.ios. i did a diagnostic practice test before my studying began, and i just took another, around 9 days into my studying my scores got LOWER. i did absolutely TERRIBLE. HELPPPPP also your videos motivate me so much and theyre super helpful!
I also took this AP class in freshman but it was split into two classes: Pre-AP WH and AP WH. I took Pre-AP in my freshmen year and now taking AP WH in my sophomore year; they made sure teachers had two years to teach the whole material which meant we didn't rush much. Still, it's annoying and complicated having to remember so much information. Good luck!
Personal Tip: If you're using Traditions and Encounters in your classroom, a quick google search will lead you to the website for the book. Once on this website, you'll have access to an outline for EVERY chapter in the book.
I'm taking the test on May 17th as a Freshman. I agree with how you feel about the class and my teacher is a fantastic AP teacher, he makes us take our own notes and gives lectures. I took your outline tip and it really helps! Glad you said that AP World is a hard AP, means that I shouldn't struggle too much in the future. Love your videos, I'm a hopeful 2022 applicant to Yale!
@@faan4297 Mostly reading the textbook, outlines, PowerPoints online, and thinking about what the question for each topic could be. I take pretty detailed notes so I can commit the book to memory. Other than that, I'm not sure what else, there's not many practice questions online. What about you?
Parker Anderson I’m looking through the Princeton review book at this exact moment but also using barrons flash cards from my brother who took the exam a few years ago. I’m just really nervous because I only have a B in the class and I don’t feel prepared
@@faan4297 I feel you, it's about time I get a review book. Deciding between AMSCO and Princeton Review. I've scraped by with a lower A for the past three quarters but that's only cause my teacher only takes notes as formative so I always have a 100 in that section. Good luck with your studying!
Hey, how are they doing in class? I've just started posting AP World videos. Here's one about the DBQ! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FT6jaurIlsM.html
Thanks for the help. On dbqs I felt like I was just running out of time, the tip of it being a history essay and not an English essay helped save time and I scored better.
You know what? I have AP world history Modern, and I know I’ll do well if dedicate my time studying and other things. And the funny thing is that I am not that person who is soo smart and understands the entire lesson in just an hour and explains all this back knowledge about something. I am the person who takes tons of notes and studies after school for hours to get more of a reflect of what I learned that day so it sticks with me
my ap world teacher was so good. in my school we take it as freshmen and he only have us 2 tests per quarter (worth a total of 70% of ur grade), so u have to read. he taught us everything and have amazing lectures. out of 32 kids, only 3 or 4 didnt pass, and 6 of us got fives. such a good class. he covered all the content by march and the last 2 months were just reviewing. i recommend buying the review book AMSCO, and taking a lot of practice tests.
My Pre-AP World history teacher in 9th grade use to tell me that AP stands for Answer (the) Prompt in order to remind us how to answer long response questions and DBQs
You're in my brother's class at Yale and I'm taking this class as a freshman. In the summer leading up to it, since I didn't have any previous knowledge of the class, I watched this video. It scared me a bit tbh, but it helped a lot. Thanks
Yeah I’m taking AP world and omg it is crushing me. There’s so much to remember and just so much to prepare for... I’m taking it as a sophomore. And it really made me realize just how difficult some classes are.
I got screwed on the next level . cause of covid I got put in apwh as a freshmen without choice or the ability to contact a counselor. . They gave/ pushed me into something I wasn't ready for at all. I actually tried my best to but with strict grading and not having backround on any skills required for this class I ended with a 78. This messed up my gpa and made me stress to the max. I just want to pass the exam so I didnt take this class for nothing.
Mr. Woody of The Colony Texas is probably the best WHAP teacher you could ask for. He did a tremendous job in preparing us for the test by giving us regular SAQ, LEQ, and DBQ’s as major grades. We just took the exam and my one tip would be pay attention to the clock. That killed me on my DBQ and had to finish with the shotgun method.
Update watched this a year ago and followed some of the steps I never read my textbook they never gave us one and finessed my way to an A in the class but pulled of a 4 on the exam appreciate this video man it helped a lot Ima apply the same thing in APUSH this year :D
I am a freshman taking AP world and I haven't been doing well even when I feel good about the content. Right now we are on the Aztecs, Inca, and Mississippian culture
thank you so much for this video! I'm currently taking AP world and its the second week of school and we have already had two quizzes and a test. I'm already on Unit 2 and its a lot of work!
I have my AP exam tomorrow (May 20) and I've done every review that my teacher has assigned and still don't remember much💀I hope every one of you stressing over the exam passes. Cramming all this knowledge that we were supposed to learn throughout the year really isn't smart😭But hey, we can do this....we got this
This kid from a couple years ahead of me took it as a freshman and got an 81% on the multiple choice section. He ended up getting ALL fives in the SATs he took.
What were your grades like in AP World History? I want to get an A in the class next year, because our GPA system is pretty tough in my district. A 97 would be a 5.0 on an AP class, and a 94-96 would only be a 4.5💀
I’ll take the test next year,I’ll be reading everyday and watching videos, talking to my teacher, doing hw and when it’s about that time I’ll read the whole book again. I’ll get that 5 idc idc🤪🤪
