Jahnuda produced this movie while coming out of graduation. He really had the emotions and movie making in his DNA. I met him in Toronto in his brother's house and also in Mumbai. What a down to earth humble person. Proud to be an Assamese.
I was looking for this movie from the days ( Around 1988-1990) when it was telecasted on DD national channel on one Sunday after noon under regional movies., that time DD was airing best regional language movies every Sunday on national TV. I have asked for this to one of my friend in Guwahati too, but no chance. Now I got it today around 30-32 years.. thanks to Junglee club.
One of the best Assamese movies of all time. Nice to see Suhasini Mulay and Girish Karnad in this Assamese Cult movie. Thanks to Jahnu Barua and Late Bhupen Hazarika for making this masterpiece!!
So much to lose, so much to gain; travails of heart; a good bit of pain, a good bit of grief and indeed a good bit of happiness even if transient and tantalisingly brief. Tended like a poem, the film is a silently beautiful symphony.
Beautiful movie. Handsom biju sir. And so many hindi , karnataka characters like Girish sir and the other person who acted who acted in Prem Rog hindi movie. The female character i have seenbher doing hindi movies serials. Super to see all. But Biju sir heart throb of so many girls during those days and still even though he is no more in this wrld but his presence is always felt through his movies his worship to cinema jogot. The introduction song is also superb.
Watch 2nd time, because some actors, actress, movies still alive in mind. Promise to survive our old, because old is the base of present. Thank u to all old lovers.
Nice movie except the ending. I would have preferred an ending where they were not trying to gain the sympathy of the audience or get them to condone Roopa's decision. Great acting by Suhashini Mulay.
Aparoopa's cancer must be told before. Then the entire story would be told from her angle of view and not Rana's. But I personally liked the film very much.👍👍👍
Girish Karnad, Suhasini Mulay.. Those were the days when hindi artists used to regularly appear in Assamese movies.. The music, the story, the locations, everything was perfect.. First Ulfa and AGP broke Assam in 90's then the film makers started to make cheap stuffs to make quick money..
