Sweet girl, you're human. You don't have to apologize for having human emotions, nor blame them on hormones. Feel your feelings and know that not only is it okay to feel them, its healthy to. You got this. ❤
You can always buy an island as well to put in the kitchen! I’ve been seeing people do that when the unit does not come with an island! Or you can put a small round dining table to fill the space the L-shape kitchen leaves! Love the apartment you chose and the long vlog!! :)
Giiiiiirrrlll!!!! I am going through the exact same process right now and I literally cried a few days ago but this video helps me so much. We have the same taste and I'm also looking for something I love if i'm going to be paying that price. It's crazy that prices are going up daily and this is the same challenge i'm facing. The entire USA is moving to Dallas and because they know this, apartments are being leased to the highest bidder. It makes me so mad but I'm still looking and trying not to lose hope.
When I lived in an apartment that came with wifi I got a wifi booster cause it was kinda slow. It boosts the speed of your wifi and allows you to kinda have your own network off of the apartment's wifi network with your own password. I would highly recommend getting a wifi booster if you move into the unit with wifi included and it ends up being slow. I just got a cheapish one and its worked great!
I don’t think I have EVER been so invested in someone’s apartment search before 😂 but I can’t wait to see the moving blogs that are going to be coming next month!
I randomly got your video on my wall’s recommendation. But when you were talking through the bad parts of your apartment hunting experience, I just realized that the same stuff that happened to me a month ago while hunting for apartments in Dallas. The whole situation is pretty horrible for everyone who is hunting for apartments in Dallas at the moment
We have a Hue at WaterColor Place here in Florida. We looked at it, nice apartments rent was $1100-1200 for a 1/1 when we looked now a 1/1 is $2500-2600
Late comment here but thankfully I found your video. I’ve been apartment hunting too in Dallas and it’s literally SO HARD to find something in your price range, looks, travel time..I FEEL YOU. I hope you found the perfect place
Just think how us natives feel! Migration has literally made it impossible for us to afford to live here. I’m literally just signed a lease for a studio at 1200 base. 😢
First off, I am HEEEERE for the long vlogs girl! Love you and your content!🥰😝 I also appreciate seeing the journey of your apartment hunting because it’s so easy to just believe you just walk in and choose an apartment, but it’s SO IMPORTANT to consider ALL THE THINGS when choosing where you’re going to be signing your name and credit info to for whether it’s a year, two years, or more! Better to be picky now than stressed later…and fighting packs of mice hoards!😅 So thank youuu!! But um…ma’am did I miss a vlog explaining your adorable new finger tattoo?! I need an up close picture!! It’s so cute!❤️
I’m glad this apartment tour ended in a happy ending!! 🥰🥰 There is hope for me 🙃🙃 I’m moving from a different state and the reviews can be quite bothersome especially when online they look so wonderful wish me luck 🍀 I’m coming next month to tour!!! 😬😬
I honestly wish I was crying over all these apartments. In Cali a $1500 apartment gets you something so old and raggedy. But trust the process girl, the right one will come. All of these hiccups are just a sign that they are not meant to be.
Hi Madi!! I just recently moved to the outskirts of Dallas a few days ago so I know the struggle of finding the perfect apartment in your budget. It’s tough for sure, but best of luck that you find a good one!!!💖 I was kind of rushed into my apartment and now I feel like I’m stuck here til my lease is up next year. Also, if you have any recommendations for places to go to in Dallas, let a girl know! I really want to explore the city
Yay a new video from queen Madi! I hope you're doing well! I love you so much friend! You have no idea how much you mean to me! I love how positive you are! Thanks for being so great! You're absolutely GORGEOUS! 💗💗
I was not expecting those prices!!! I live in West Palm Beach, FL (I know it's considered one of the most expensive places to live) but a one bedroom here is $2,600!!!!! Even having roommates you're still paying around $2,000 each. This video truly has me questioning everything 😅
And these rates are considered relatively HIGH here, because wages have been stagnant for so long. To be fair Madi is looking at the most expensive "general" areas. Harwood, Knox Henderson, and State Thomas are the more expensive areas. (and now Lower Greenville) There are so many new complexes popping up in the "walkable" areas and they are more expensive. Getting out of the "downtown" area those are 2BR prices though. I bought a condo years ago, and I think I saw her drive by it. :) I have the "City View" too, thankfully -- or more importantly the "non-Club" side.
I could not live in a high rise I would be freaked out all the time lol. I recommend driving around the area you plan on living at nighttime just to make sure nothing looks shady. I really liked your apartment in Alabama, I thought it was really nice!
Love the Mayflower apartment especially since it has the city view! Bishop North/ Bishop flats looks so nice! I have been watching your Instagram stories and I was so excited for this vlog.
I had this exact same problem in Plano. I would find a cute place and by the time I could go in and see it, the rent had gone up $200+. It's so stressful.
I love it when you do extra-long videos especially vlogs! Not going to lie some of those apartments are pretty nice. Also, it's okay to be emotional during these situations, because it can literally be unbearable to deal with and just feel like you are getting nowhere with what you are doing, so don't be sorry - we are all humans and to be honest if I was you, Madi, I would have done the same thing and have emotional/mental breakdown as well. Love you Madi and keep your head held high! 🤍
I used to live in Dallas - I miss it solely due to the rent costs. I’m from Colorado - so I’ve been back here and grrrrrl you would die living here bc it is 18-19 for any kind of apartment you are looking at now.
I understand how you feel. I live in Dallas and these apartments are ridiculous. The prices changes daily and some of the change depending on your move in date. I have be looking for awhile myself for a 2 bedroom. I seen a 2 bedroom for $2300 🥺
I live in Dallas too, which is probably why your video was suggested to me. And I have been looking so hard for a new apartment! I feel the stress :( And everything went way, way up this year.
I just signed a lease in uptown back in March and I've been dying to just leave Miami already lol, plus its a building that's getting a whole renovation to look like a fancy hotel vibe so I can't wait to get there but I feel you on those wrong prices some lists I got from people weren't accurate what so ever.
I’m new in Dallas and apartment hunting for June & I REALLY LOVE the apartment you picked😫 where can I get the details😩😩 I swear I’m no stalker. I just really like it♥️ Help? Or can we get the info to the apartment you didn’t pick & viewed second to last?
So I think RU-vid recommend you to me because I’ve just moved to Dallas, but if you haven’t signed a contract yet...your locator probably gave you right price. I learned the prices can change everyday. If you’re flexible on your move in date, you can have them look ahead few days and see what price is on certain date and snag that deal.
It’s okay to be emotional madi I know this is 2 days later lol but I just got my first apartment in Jan. I have been wanting to be on my own for a very long time. The town I grew up in was just not aligned with what I want with my future. I needed a city vibe. I live in PA mind you 🤣 and also didn’t want to be too far away from home. I traveled over an hour to tour apartments praying that one of them would be it. And they weren’t. Checked apartments all night long, nothing was coming up. I was so disappointed. Went to another city to tour an appt that I wasn’t interested in at first. It was the only one left in my tour. I was desperate to have an apartment when I got back home. I saw this place and loved it. My soul told me this was it. Applied the same day. Got it a week later 🌟
Jeez I always knew my rent in the NYC area was expensive but good grief 1350 for a 1-bedroom. You can't even find those prices anymore in places like Jacksonville for crying out loud. I need to move to Dallas and hop on this rent train I guess.
Hi! Just wanted to say that I literally just found you here on RU-vid! I love this video! It’s also super helpful to me since I just moved here to Dallas from Michigan!💜 I’m so glad I found you
Rents all over hv gone up 33% or more in 1-2 yrs. Terrible. Im ready to move to a non city area. This is nust Dallas, nothing specia..but rents are extreme.
Uhmmm the washer and dryer in the closet?!?! What?!? Yes! Sign me up! Love it! I can’t even imagine clothes from the dryer straight to the hangers!!!! Pick it!
Why do Californians compare low cost of living states by housing alone? Let’s look at our minimum wages, anti laws, and they’re not employee friendly like California…so what are you really trading? 🥴
I live close to Dallas and my rent went from $1890 to $2400 with one months notice bc of the market. Like it sucks so bad but I agree with you on the not paying for a place you don’t love. I’m sticking to the 2400 😭 I hope the market calms down in the near future.
I love this video! I’m going to Dallas for the Alan Jackson concert in September and just watching your videos gives me ideas of places to go and more! If you have any recommendations on food places by the American Airlines center pleaseee let me know!!
Tbh, Dallas is ghetto low key. You can be in a nice area and yet there’s still some type of shooting, assault, or robbery happening every week. It’s ridiculous
Apartment hunting is so stressful. I like my current apartment for a few reasons and there are a few things I would like different in my apartment. My current lease is good until end of July and I would need to resign by end of June if I end up staying which is likely. I know my rent will go up somewhat when the lease renews and I am likely to stay unless something else catches my eye. In my case, I figured paying $50 more per month in rent over a year's term would still be less than the cost of moving to a new apartment because renting a Uhaul can be really costly even for short moves.
Farmers market is a NO!! Such a dangerous area to live in, my friend had to break her lease because she felt so unsafe. Someone literally got shot on the street outside her unit.
girl! love this video i’m also going through the whole apartment hunting right now! What’s the name of the one you didn’t end up going with at the end?
Never take the first renewal offer!!! They are not set in stone, you can haggle, I have always been able to negotiate down to 2% increase with minimal effort. Just have to ask and say you pay rent on time and are a good tenant.
