We are big believers that life is too short not to follow your dreams. So in early 2020 we decided to buy and convert a van in Europe, to live in it full time and travel the world. The build was especially challenging for us since we had never worked with tools before or had any prior experience building things 🛠️
After 2 years living in it full time, we decided it is time for a change and we sold our van and got ready to move to Australia.
We Are Monasi, an international couple passionate about plant based food, music and specialty coffee.

When I started watching this video I didn’t expect to see my old apartment block in Elwood! The apartments there are very tiny. Although I think I was lucky that mine had a clean bathtub 😊 Elwood is a lovely suburb but you’re right about the lack of public transport connections. I think you chose the best option with Collingwood. Congratulations on getting the place you liked the most. 🎉

Congratulations! The house looks great. As an Australian I am interested to know how you found the process and the quality of looking for a rental. Its even harder here in Sydney! ha ha

Thank you! ❤️ We think that the process itself is actually very straightforward and the prices are also not very different from what we know from Europe. It was probably just a bad time of the year for house hunting. At least that’s what we heard from some locals here. Take care! 😊

I am happy for you Collingwood is a lovely area, I know the pain of looking for a house in this environment. I had to leave my house in Essendon in Jan this year after 5 years due to the landlord moving to the house and I was lucky to get a new place. It's sad to see 75 people competing on one house, with International students coming back and other factors there are shortage of rental properties in Melbourne.
