Brooke, use what you have and update over time so you’re happy with the pieces you’ll invest in. Everything you currently own won’t hurt the vibe of the house. Your house is already neutral so it’s the perfect palette for color.

Brooke, look for the “timed dry” button on your dryer. Set it for 60 minutes. The longest timed dry. If your clothes are not dry after an hour you can do timed dry for a shorter time. Also make sure it’s on hot enough. If you set your dryer for cotton etc.. the dryer ‘senses’ the clothes are dry and they are not completely dry. But “timed dry” bypasses the sensor. Hope this helps. If this is a ventless dryer- remember to open and clean the vent (it will be wet) each month. Best of luck. The apartment is fab, Gurl. It’s so you. So happy for you and Ben. ☺️

For your dryer!! If it’s one of the ones that’s more “eco conscious” it might be stopping the cycle when it “senses” the clothes are dry even if they aren’t fully. I had to switch to manually setting the length + temp of a cycle and it fixed that for me!

An idea worth looking into is seeing if the window bench area in the second room is hollow. That way you could build linen chest area where the bench top lifts up.

My husband thinks I’m a hoarder simply because I have a lot of clothes. I came into the relationship with tons. Lol a single gal buys what she wants! Then you whittle things down as time goes by. Your place is looking great already- there is plenty of time for decor and details- def think about the color scheme and theme you want, so you can get cohesive pieces. But, I’m sure it will be totally beautiful when complete. It really is the perfect blank canvas with the modern finishes it already has! Congrats again! Being a homeowner can be daunting, but definitely a joy to make the home truly your own. ❤ (and I think moving the couch is a brilliant idea to maximize space for that area!)

Loving this content, so happy for you! Even though you are having some stressed moments, we can all tell you’re overall happier. And we love that for you! I agree with you that it’s hard to include your old decor in your new space because you want it to be new and refreshed and you want to build the space together with Ben and not just have your old apartment moved into your new condo. Maybe you could search for some art relating to the places you and Ben have traveled to? You’re inspiring me to get my shit together and buy a house lol

If the clothes in the dryer still feel damp you should ask about the building cleaning out the dryer vents that lead to outside. If that’s the problem- then it’ll save you money because they will take care of it

It’s true! It’s a gorg condo! Work one day at a time! The place deserves it! I can see a stunning entrance decorations.. hope you don’t leave the laundry basket at it! 😂😂 This place/ you deserve full glam on your first new place! A sofa/bed it’s a must on the second room as well ! Working with an interior designer gives you ideas based on your taste! Go for it..

If you are running the dryer that much and clothes aren’t drying be sure you check all of the venting. I know it’s all new out possibly wasn’t installed correctly or there could be a blockage further down the line. I get so weary of dryer vents since they are such a big cause of house fires! If that’s fine two other things to be sure of are is the heating element in the dryer working properly and are you leaving enough room for the clothes to really tumble.

Will you be mounting your TV to the wall when you move it? You can get those mounts that allow you to pull the TV away from the wall then tilt it in the direction of the couch for a better view :) I have one from Costco and it's so awesome
