Apartment Towing Troubles 

Parking companies should be charged with theft.

Definitely a way to make money off of low income families..

And this why at least twice a year a tow truck driver gets killed!

This is prevalent in Texas. The really expensive apartments in the wealthy areas do not allow tow companies on their lots at all. They don't make these side agreements. But the cheaper apartments cut these side deals. They really are stealing from the poorest folks.

I'll bet the landlord gets a piece of the action.

This is theft! how can this scam be legal? The Apartments should be responsible for this scam as well they are receiving kickbacks! Arrest the owners of this scam.

I live nearby in Mesquite. My complex also uses black bull towing. They have towed me, a resident, several times. They have even towed pizza delivery drivers.

Oh yeah like that’s not a conflict of interest. What the hell. The state should be prosecuting the owners of the apartment complexes and the towing company owners personally that would put a stop to this in a hurry.

This is why people keep going absolutely crazy. Complete nonsense

You shouldn’t be paying anyways! That’s a whole SCAM! That happens to me I went to my apt manager and she called to tell them to release my car

This is the type of news u can use. I want to see more news informative for the people. Not cat lady stories.

When I lived in Dallas this happened all the time. The tow companies have agreements with the apartment communities to tow for tires low on air, tires a little on the white line, for anything really. Come to find there was an undercover investigation that showed the tow company was owned by an Israeli who was a brother to an eviction lawyer. In exchange for free eviction help to the apartments, the apartments gave the brother who owned the tow company the contract and let him do what he wanted. people couldn't even visit. They would stand by their cars. It was the craziest thing I had ever seen. Texas allows some very aggregious practices.

I can just imagine Parking Badge and Aaron Huhem, going out of business FOREVER.

These same apartments also rent to register sex offender & pedophiles yet have no legal or moral obligation to alert their tenants.

One day the news may report one of the tow victims doing a mag dump right into the windshield of the tow truck!

I just had this happen to me. I left my apartment to get food and my car was gone turns out online it auto corrected to ply instead of pyl now I have to pay 300 dollars one day after I paid rent. Tow services need to change!

"I didn't see any pay to park towing signs." " You towed my car illegally." " Excuse me sir but we found 47 pay to park towing signs in your trunk." " You planted those signs."

They target poor people. You need to register over the internet with the towing company. Some poor people don't even have access to the internet.

The brother who's the attorney and in on the scam lives at 361 s White Chapel Blvd in Southlake in case anyone ever wants to lodge a complaint in person.

I had a tow company take my car out of an apartment complex my sister parked in when she borrowed it. They charged me $570 to get it back. I videotaped every inch of the property while I was there. Built a packet of county code violations from the footage. Filed the report with the county. Got food and watched code enforcement issue $65000 worth of fines. Thanked the owner for his commitment to the community.

okay go after the management companies as well. get both ends to stop this

Sounds like someone needs to file a complaint with the United States Secret Service under the federal Racketeering, Influence, and Corrupt Organizations statutes. Include the apartment complex in the complaint and see how fast the apartment gets rid of these guys.

IMO looks like an employee or manager at Tri Pointe is getting a very big kickback from the towing company and the Park Badge App money. I do not know if it is legal for the apartment complex to get a kickback but it looks like they are getting a lot of money in someone's pocket for these tows.

You have to wonder if it’s car owners or parking badge writing wrong number if it happens that often

What if someone is being targeted and only targeting a few individuals by blocking the resident that live there from getting a parking space by being told that there aren't any spaces available in an effort to assist towing companies with towing of residents costing several out-of-pocket expenses to the residents when parking spaces are actually available. i am a disabled individual who need to have access to the parking spaces available in order to gain access to my unit with ease of access

And of course the apartment complex gets a cut of this online registration thing

Any Towing should go through court before any vehicle is towed

Sometimes the police department charge for a release before you could get your car and the tow company change too so yeah they work together

My truck was just towed out of my apartment complex we just moved into close to down town Dallas. The complex said our permanent parking pass wasn’t ready and gave us guest ones a few days later my truck was towed from our ‘safe’ parking lot. PLEASE HELP IF THIS IS ILLEGAL LIKE YOU SAY, HOW DO I GET MY TRUCK BACK SO I CAN WORK AND PAY MY BILLS ?

These CRIMINALS are PARASITES. They need to stay away from apartment complexes unless they're called. Its all fun and games until somebody gets hurt. But, somebody has to get hurt 1st before anything gets fixed.

I’ve noticed these tow truck companies are targeting the lower income apartments than the higher income ones. Or am I wrong? Do I have to pay 1k a month in rent for this crap not to happen for a 3rd time. Because i will to avoid this mess.

In Portsmouth England you have to pay car tax. Car insurance. Car maintenance. Tax on fuel. And tax on tyres etc etc. You then pay to park in your own area. If you can get a spot. And if someone visits you they have two hours max before they have to pay... Robbing c u next Tuesday

And someone in the complex is making money off the community.

Simple black on the street, you're paying to live there you do not own the property. Pay for parking or park on the street. Some people pay for a spot or garage and they don't even live on the premises. You do not own the property!
