Playing this as a kid, I always just assumed that the bosses were immune to everything that wasn't that level's new morph. Shame I wasn't corrected sooner. I'd have gotten a lot more mileage out of my favorite form.
Gonna make time tomorrow to watch this since I never really did look up the best speedrun of my most favorite game. Been about 3 years since it was posted, but I wanna thank ya for takin to time to learn this game and get through it as fast as you can!
This run summerized: Sarugetchu sarugetchu sarugetchu. The game never intended for people to be doing it this fast, so the characters saying the same line one after another after another.
Do you have any first time tips for speedrunning this? I love Ape Escape 3, have beaten it several times, and have wanted to attempt a speed run for quite some time now, but I have 0 experience with speedrunning (outside of a bit of Mega Man X4, but nothing ape escape related). I'd truly appreciate it. Such an amazing speedrun, also!
This run is a little outdated now so I'd recommend watching the fastest run on the leaderboard at speedrun.com. I also have my own video tutorials on a lot of the tricks & clips in the run that are mostly still relevant today that might be helpful. I'd also recommend joining the Ape Escape speedrunning discord that you can find through the speedrun.com page aswell, people in there will be more than happy to help if you have any issues learning the game. Other than that it will just be practice & finishing lots of runs to start out with :)

It'll definitely take quite a long time to even get the basics of speedrunning it down for me, but your videos and the discord channel sound like a great way to start.
