I have this suit. Having never worn a wetsuit before, the first 4/5 times getting it in was a nightmare! And I needed assistance to get it up and over my head from behind. Now i have the technique understood better it glides in effortlessly. I Dive in the Plymouth Sound, and currently keeping me very warm and comfortable !

@@diveinstructordaniel1095 For sure, but a good trilam drysuit is £2k, this is £500. This would do in the UK most of the year, would do for me anyway

Do have a look around first, Emma. The Apeks has a wet-zip. You can get semidrys like the Scubapro Nova Scotia, Mares Flexa Grapheme or Seac Masterdry suits that have dryzips and proper glideskin cone-seals which are easier to don and more effective for, to be blunt, less money. The wet zip in particular is a disappointment - that makes all the difference.

Thank you for posting - am diving in skandinavia where water are cold for most of the time. Been using mares 7 + 5 evolution for over ten years but when times comes my next one will be semi dry

i have the sola fx 8/7mm from aqualung, this one is the same just with added pockets and changing mat. love my sola fx very durable and comfy suit!!

Isn't that front zip awkward at all? I'm thinking of buying one but I'm concerned about that front zip being to bulky or something.

@@NiCo2005lost Just got one, first job was fitting a longer leash on the zipper pull. Brilliant, not bulky at all. Super comfy, flexible and warm.....

Looks like an awesome semi'dry suit. It looks like Apeks version of Hollis' 8 7 6 semi dry suit, which I own. I love it, other then the hood doesn't come down over the forehead like it should, irritating. Apeks looks like they don't have that issue. Jealous!

Hello, I would like to invest in a “go everywhere” diving suit. to avoid having 3-4 different ones. I wanted to know if diving with it in water at 10 degrees in a lake or diving in warm water like the Red Sea or water at 22 degrees. Does this combination work well?

Seems like a nice suit. How does it compare to other 7 mm semi-dry suits with integrated hood? Warmer? Dryer? More flexible? Or is it about the same in terms of '"Apeks' solution" to a problem other brands have solved/tried to solve as well?

Haven't tried it but I've got a Mares Flexatherm and this, to be blunt, doesn't seem like the Apeks would be as good. The Mares has a true dry-zip. Given the cost of the Apeks, I'm a bit disappointed they cheaped out with a wet zip and flushguard. Have dived wetzip and dryzip semis in similar conditions I can attest that it makes a *big* difference in flushing - and all the flaps and guards in the world can only do so much. Also the ankle and wrist seals seems a bit half-baked - the Mares has proper double cone glideskin roll-seals (like the neoprene seals on a drysuit) and they are *super* effective. I think this is more of a "nice wetsuit" rather than an actual semidry. I'd be interested to see a real-world test between this and something like the new Mares Flexa Grapheme or Scubapro Nova Scotia.

@@lmlmd2714 I agree with this. Would definitely be interested in buying this for the eco features if I'd need another semidry but for 600 euros I'd like a dry zipper. Owned a Hollis neotek before which seems similar to this and even though it was a great suit it was nowhere near as warm as my Subea 280 euro suit with waterproof zipper I have now.

@@lmlmd2714 nova scotia is great, 5 dives a day and always warm.Too bad the zipper ( tzip ) is crap, just broke after few months of use. Scubapro really needs to step up their quality control.

Here is answer: In croatia in middle of summer surface is 28° you dive down and hit termoclime and its 17° - 18° this would be grait suit becouse it would keep you warm in depth and you would not die on boat from heat becouse its 40° outside, its much esier to take wetsuit off and jump into sea after dive, if you are in drysuit you need to take drysuit off, undersuit, base layer and then jump into sea to cool off

You can goto water right after the dive if it's hot day. I love wetsuits... it we are diving we wanna feel the water. I don't want to get into a submarine...

£500+ for a wetsuit is the Apeks way. Overpriced for what it is. You are paying extra for the brand people associate with tec.

no such thing as "semi - dry" ha ha ha, oh FFS...you are either wet or dry. I wish people would stop using superfluous terms and confuse newbies...

To be fair there is a difference in degree of protection between a wetsuit and a "true" semidry - but this suit really is just a wetsuit with a pricetag - a semidry should have a dryzip and cone seals. I've used both and there is a significant difference in ingress and flushing. I'm not convinced that integrated hoods belong on semidrys either. All the glideskin in the world can't make a decent seal around the face - whereas a neck seal is relatively simple.
