Lots of people think that hetalia is all just laughs and giggles, but think about how much agony and pain the countries have been through! England losing America then canada france losing Canada to England and Seychelles once she became independant, china loosing hong kong to england, Russia losing princess Anastasia, think about how much loss and grief they have gone through over the centuries...I read that to a country having their capitol attacked and destroyed felt like being stabbed in the heart over and over, how a countrys personification wouldn't be able to fight because they were in so much agony and pain. it really is sad, things that just seemed like history before since watching hetalia now feel very real, and I know I do this, I think about that it must have felt like for the countries personification! that always makes me so sad thinking how much sorrow and pain they have gone through

i never payed attention to the lyrics of this song and as i sat here looking for a distraction from my math homework i heard the part where he said "now i lay in my grave at age 21" and i dropped my pencil and felt the urge to cry as i realized that the whole time the grandson he was addressing was never born because he died that day. now i want to scream and cry about the unfairness of the world but that will do no good. i can only hope and pray that i see the day where EVERYONE gets along.

I just graduated high school not too long ago and so many of my friends decided that they wanted to become soldiers. I have a friend in the National Guard, a friend in the Navy, and one who's been thinking about joining the army. They're getting through basic training now and everyone keeps saying how they're so proud of them. I'm proud of them too, but what I'd really like to say is that I hope they never have to fight because I would never want them to not come home.

The nice thing about this song is that it's a reminder of the pain we don't have to endure because of the sacrifices our families made to protect us from them. Thank you for everything you've done.

Man, I see people that look at Hetalia like it's just some dumb anime. But it's the people that watch Hetalia that actually understand what's going on in the world, and understand what countries did and why they did those things and for what purpose it served. Honestly, it's the Hetalians that will hopefully fix the world, because we actually feel the pain and sadness because we have a symbol to associate historical events with. We feel the pain, that unless we had watched this anime, or read the manga, we would never feel, or even think about feeling.

This song always makes me cry because 'well hopefully for you, a world without war, a life full of color'. War has been in our past, it is our present, and will likely always be out future. Our lives are full of color. but the wrong ones in my opinion. the black cloak of death. the red fear that blood brings. the clear water of tears. And when I think of the fact that so many people all over have felt the pain that war causes, and yet there is so little if anything anyone can do to end it. hope

The world isn't cruel.... Its actually quite amazing. Its just the people in it that are cruel.... Hopefully more people will begin to see this.

I've never wanted to join any armed forces because I'm not very athletic and I've never thought I'd be good at it. But I've always told myself that if my little brother ever got drafted for some reason, I would go right along with him and make myself do well so I could make sure he came home.

You kno what would have been cool? If all the images were black and white up to when he said "The war was in color" the first time, and then the rest of the amv was in color.

I want to sing this with people in cosplay dancing/acting in the back ground and at the end have them raise their flag as I would be Earth. :)

Thank you for re-uploading this. and may we always remember the pain and sacrifice of anyone who ever suffered through any war, and those who lost their family and those they loved to it. And when confronted with it, remember what a hell it is, and not romanticize it, even when we think it's necessary.

Whenever I think of all the past wars I get very sad but curious. I think of all the bad things they had to go through and what makes me even sadder is that in maybe 10 years there will be no more ww2 veterans left.

Thank you for this song. It reminds me of my grandfather, he was a World War II veteran. By listening to the song it reminds me of what he talked about during the war.

You are the true image of a soldier, it doesn't matter the country. You're the reason I write to soldiers who don't get anything from back home. I hope you and your brothers come home safe soon and have all of my respect.

I just watched some videos of people finding corpses from the downed Malaysian airliner in fields of sunflowers in Ukraine and couldn't help but think of the images in this AMV; still relevant, still heartbreaking.

You said it... I wish that they all understand what Hetalia tells us: We are all citizens of this world. We all made mistakes and we all make mistakes but we are all humans. So draw a circle and its our world... And make Pasta not war :D

these kind of videos always make me cry but I cant help but watch them they make me step back from everything that's going on in my life, whether its stressful or not, and help me realize that at I go through isn't as bad as it seems, it reminds me that I want to leave this world knowing I helped it

At first, I thought Hetalia was just for laughs and happiness. But now, after all these videos and pictures, I've realized how deep Hetalia can be. Imagine if there really were people who were the countries. How deeply affected they would be when there was war. And the sadness of having to live on after your loved ones as you were immortal. And countries like Prussia still existing but having to watch other countries flourish, knowing that you're not a nation anymore and that you may disappear.

No one needs war, imagine a world with none of that. If every country was together, we could accomplish way more. More people would love their home, no one would have to fight. Everything would be more colourful, more happy not being reminded that they were in a middle of a war field. Imagine if everyone loved each other.

I was actually crying by the end of this, the lump in my throat is painful and the tears are blurring my eyesight~ The part where he sings 'Now i lay in my grave at age 21, long before you were born' especially gets to me because my uncle was also a soldier and he died before i got to meet him which always gets me. I know i never knew him so i'm being silly but family is family and it hurts when i think about it nonetheless...

I reeaally love the way Hetalia is: bright, funny - even if its sad and dramatic in some cases. But there has to be another side of this anime, another side of the wars they have fought! Like the one beyond me wrote: There has to be a soldier side, just to show the feelings a war is filled with. There ars so many fanmade-pictures telling stories of how Hetalia used to be like a little more. Just as so many pictures that were used in this video. It's so DAMN awesome! I love it!

Before Hetalia I was like "War is stupid.I don't want to hear anything about it.I don't want to know why it happend it is just bad. People died for this nonsense." But now I see that there is so much more behind it so much more thats worth to know..to understand I still think war is the worst thing in the world but it's also interesting But there is still war today...We should learn from the mistakes in the past. And really think about war not just go on distance...So we can act against it

This song hits home for me, having been to afghanistan I know what war looks like and I still have the images burned in my head. To be honest i actually found some kind of solace in the hetalia series and cosplaying as america help me to tell my story and cope with the things that happened over there.

That was a very moving tribute to a dark and terrible piece of our history. T-T I cried.

Thank you :') I was originally born in Russia and moved with my family to America when I was only a child. My older brother, uncle and two cousins went to war here, even with them being from Russia. My brother and cousins were sent to Afghanistan and only my brother came home. I miss them so much, but I am proud that they fought for this country through and through. I don't know exactly what you went through out there, but I want to thank you for fighting, I salute you.
