That's for the tip man i think I'm fixing to have them do this because they simply just keep re doing it it's been the second time I guess 3rd time will be the charm I just have a lot of pressure and discomfort on the tooth they did the root Canal on so hopefully this will fix it and on top were they stuck me is still very wired it stared to drain and smell nasty but they don't seem in a rush I hope it don't cause me more health isssues I've basically been dealing with this for the past 2 years its total bs it's infected form what I last was told it's just bs how they take there time saying oh it will heal on it's own well i clearly don't see that happening and they know but just don't care
@@bluntforce8749 no unfortunately infectious area or cyste after a root canal treatment normally doesn't go away on its own, for me I had it several years. It was inaktiv suddenly became aktive and started causing pain. But this method should hopefully solve the problem ،try to consult with your doctor.
I just had this procedure done on tooth number eight, a front tooth. And I say it was not bad at all. The doctor was very professional, and it was all done in about 40 minutes. No pain, no discomfort during the procedure. I was completely relaxed Dr did a fantastic job. Hours later than novocaine is wearing off and I still feel completely fine. No complications. Hopefully it will save the tooth as I had a bad infection near the tip of the root.
Thanks for the info. I'm book in a week from now. Gotta wait 6 months to heal the bone then have the crown replaced.. I was nervous but the comments here make it sound like not a big deal.
Did you ever feel like it was hollow or something? Like something was missing sorry if that sounds weird. Because I need to get this done because my old dentist jacked up my teeth
@@EnclaveDesigns The tooth seems to be healing. It has been many months and my doctor was honestly not very hopeful because I had an apical fracture beginning. She said it was probably better to just pull the tooth but I wanted to save it and so far so good it’s definitely healing and not causing any problems. So I am remaining optimistic about its future
I had this procedure done on tooth #3 four days ago. I felt some discomfort the same day after the Novocaine wore off but not real pain. I did apply an ice pack every now and then and that was all. I didn't even need to take pills for it. The thing that shocked me was when I got up the next morning, I felt absolutely no pain at all. As long as I didn't smile, grimace etc, I felt nothing. Of course I felt a little swelling in the area and that was it.
bigeify I took a full cycle of antibiotics the week leading up to the surgery and now I got prescribed another cycle post surgery. Is this normal? Seems like a lot of antibiotics in a short time span
@@frank9592 Frank, tell me how did this go, please. I need this done I think. DMD did a root canal on a canine (4 months ago) but I am still having problems. Ugh 😒
I felt pain towards the end of this procedure and she told me that I should bear the pain as she was unable to numb me up any further at that point. It was an absolute dreadful experience. Moreover, I suspect she got too close to my sinus because I had a nosebleed when I arrived home. I even heard the student doctor discussing the possibility of it occurring.
I had this surgery done years ago under general anaesthetic. I doubt I would have been able to sit in the chair and have this procedure. Was not allowed to blow my nose for 3/4 weeks afterwards. So interesting to see this video on here to know how this surgery was performed.
I had this done, they put me to sleep, a little bit painful after but alot of swelling and it did hurt if I smiled or laughed 6 days in and I still can't smile properly but the swelling has gone down alot
My front tooth got broken in an accident and I did rootcanal in it before ten yrs, now suddenly I felt pain in the same tooth and they did rootcanal for two times, still am feeling pain What's the solution can anybody suggest
I just had this done on tooth #14 yesterday. I felt no pain or discomfort during the procedure. The doctor did pop through to my sinus but we knew that was a risk going in, my root was all the way into my sinus. Today I’ve not had much pain at all, and mostly only when I smile. Also thank you for this very informative video. I didn’t watch until after lol. I did get a bone graft before suturing.
@@kylebazzar7994 how did it go? I had mine done 2 months ago...lower tooth close to the lips nerve so the doctor had to cut across the lower gum to get around to avoid touching the nerve
Hi Tamalita, i have to do this procedure in my 14 tooth, did you do because injection or others reason? I have old root canal with infection, i want this procedure instead implant. How much did you pay for this procedure? Thanks
It's amazing to me how people can get extractions and even drill through bone and not always need painkillers afterward. When I had a wisdom tooth removed I remember there were points I could still feel moderate pain even with the painkiller. The idea of getting this done and being told to take otc relievers is a little scary.
They gave me Tylenol with codeine for the pain. I had to get this done on 2 teeth the other day. My teeth don’t hurt anymore, but my face feels bruised and it’s swollen. The worst part of the procedure was them numbing my mouth.
Ok so i had this done and during the procedure there was slight pain and discomfort the surgeon said probably from the retraction of my lips, i remained numb for a few hours and after it wore off it did hurt at about 7.5/10, i fell asleep and the pain wasnt nearly as bad at all the next day maybe at about 3/10 as long as i didnt touch it or lay on that side it didnt hirt much at all just swollen, eating was difficult but you get thorough it if you eat in the other side, after about 3 days the awelling was almost completely gone and the pain was low, i still couldnt eat there and the stiches were wore, aboyt a week later it was slightly sore and i still couldnt eat there but the stiches started disssolving and the pain was about a 2/10, its now been two weeks and it feels different, the stitches are almost all gone but they were annoying, i can now chew soft foods there and it doesnt hurt much the incision is a bit sore to touch but its fine mostly and i can brush as normal, i was prescribed, an edema med an anti biotic and an NSAID, youll be fine God willing.❤
Considering my family tend to have upper teeth pulled (notably grandma and mom) Im taking caution if I need to get a tooth removed, notably the emerging wisdom teeth I have on my lower jaw that are causing my secondary molars pain
I might need this done on last molar #15. I’ve had 10 yrs of TN like sinus pain. Then told need root canal in Nov. Long delays w/ scheduling & went for crown today & mentioned how tooth still sensitive when touched! I’ve been dismissed at 2 other appts. Sinus & tooth root issue for the 10 yrs. I don’t trust root so close. I’d elect for this. I’ll try to remember to report back!
My doctor said i need to get this procedure done, i got a second opinion and they said i needed to get a retreatment of the root canal first, i really dont know what to do As i am paying out of pocket and not sure
For anyone stressing over getting this procedure. I was the very terrified before I got this. I was scared that maybe the anesthesia would ware off and I would feel something bad (it did ware off a couple times as my body naturally digested the anesthesia faster but the pain was nothing.) and after the procedure was done I felt a tiny bit of discomfort but nothing else. I’m on day 2 now and I fee perfectly normal besides the slight swelling which you can handle with ice packs on day 1 and take the ibuprofen as it helps with swelling. The only thing that sucks about this is the fact I can’t chew and I have to stick with soft foods. Please dont be scared of this at all. If anything my root canal procedure was a lot more painful than this was which was shocking!
Did you have to be on antibiotics? My doctor said some of his patients have decided not to take them but still recovered just fine... I dont know whether or not I should.
I just had this done. It looks a lot more scary than it is. The area will be numbed by injections, and then during the procedure I only felt pressure and vibrations. It was a bit discomforting, but not painful. I had much more pain during standard drilling (and tooth extraction is way worse!). Afterwards I had no pain until about 4 hours later light pain, where I took 1 Ibuprofen.
Regenerative endodontic treatment can be done on mature permanent root canal treated teeth. If yes then in your known reference can suggest a endodontics clinic or hospital name for doing this treatment
Is there a nasty scar left behind? I want go get this procedure done as an alternative to a root canal. Reason being for not wanting a root canal is because the dentist is required to remove my crown. It took 4 different visits and couple months to get a color shade closet to the rest of my teeth. I don't want to go through that hassle again, & fearing I would have to settle on a crown I don't like that I'm stuck with. I have cheap dental insurance (denti-cal). Any advice on what I should do. I'm tired of dealing with this tooth. It is my front tooth by they way , tooth #8 I believe.
Just had this exact procedure done 3 days ago. My thoughts: Very ugly scar. Lots of blood filling my mouth the day after. Massive swelling. Lots of pain killers and ice packs for the next 2 days. Cant eat on that side for a couple of weeks cuz of stitches. I was eating hard candy 2 days after my root canal. Pain after a root canal, for me was a 7/10. Pain after this procedure was 9/10. Very uncomfortable procedure even with the numbing shot. I would take 2 more root canals before ever doing this again. Brutal.
I doubt that you will have a big scar if any gum tissue usually heals with out scars I just had a this done on a premolar and it wasn't that bad as the root canal. My Endodontist tried steroids and antibiotics first and that almost worked out.
The dentist can drill down into the crown to perform a root canal. You don't have to remove the crown. I had this done. My tooth has been drilled out 3x since the inital root canal because my abcess still hasn't fully healed to the point where she can put the post and permanent fill in it. I think the bubble that keeps coming back is a fistula. I think may need dental surgery like an apicoectomy to get rid of the abcess fully. Worst medical issue I have endured and am still enduring!
I just had this surgery done 4 days ago. The surgery was not painful, but mentally I was freaking out over what they were actually doing to me. The first day I just laid in bed and iced it for 10 min on / 10 min off for the first 8 hours. It was tedious but it seemed to help. My cheek is still very sore and smiling, laughing or speaking with my mouth open feels very tight and uncomfortable. I had a root canal done on the tooth about 18 months ago, but the pressure in my gum never went away. For the firs time in 2 years I don't have pressure in the gum, and that is a relief. I hope that it heals up okay and the cyst stays away. Goodluck to people getting it done. This video seems a little off, most of the surgeries seem to show a much bigger cut in the gum than the one this video shows. My gums have much bigger stitching.
I’ve been dealing with this hard lump at the top of my gum in my left nostril and for some fucking reason the specialist keeps putting off the surgery in my quality life is deteriorating by the day I don’t know what else to do he put me on anabiotic‘s but I’ve had this for I don’t know how long antibiotics are not working clearly I’m so lost frustrated angry he keeps saying that the infection is so big that’s why it’s going to take some time my man it’s been almost 14 or 15 months I’m ready to call a lawyer
Just got this surgery done about 3 weeks ago, and watched the videos of it here too. Think I would get quite queasy if I actually saw what he was doing... especially seemed like taking a crowbar to remove that cut part of my jaw. I was confident though, knowing that endodontists do this day in and out for a living. Surprisingly, didn't feel any of it, as he provided sufficient anesthetic beforehand. Would recommend bringing a music player along, to avoid hearing the sounds. FWIW, the official soundtrack of this procedure was Avicii - Hey Brother. I was stuck on this song the whole time as the player was stuck on autorepeat.
I just had this done to my front tooth. It wasn’t bad and didn’t hurt during procedure. After procedure I took ibuprofen and had no pain. But it’s uncomfortable eating for a couple days. The stitches are uncomfortable and I can’t wait to get them removed after 7 days.
Iv had a root canal but I was sent home half way through procedure cause it was not fully over the infection anyone no how to get rid of pain and do it persist the pain I mean I might as well get it pulled
i had a root canal 2 years ago and through the entire time it was hurting and today it felt awful throbbing can eat close my mouth was a shit fest and tooth ache cream makes it worse and 5 advils makes the pain worse a painkiller making pain worse
Had it done yesterday. Decided not to watch the video before the surgery. Thesurgery was roughly 40mins no more. I was very afraid but it is not that scary. Pain is 4 out of 10 post procedure. Your face does tend to swell a lot!
Debating on just pulling mine and waiting for insurance to renew so I can get implant cheaper. #3 for me. By the time retreat, new crown, off days of work, gas (60 miles to my endo) and whatever other little cost there is it comes out to the same price as a bridge or the wait of the implant.
When I was little I got a tooth removed. It was a baby tooth, they had to remove it because I had a serious infection underneath it. The doctor told me to breath in the laughing gas through my nose. But instead I breathed through my mouth since the gas stinks. He got kinda mad, when he took the tooth out it hurt so much. It took forever for me to figure out that the gas made my numb and the reason it hurt so much was because I never breathed the gas in. Stupid six year old me. 😑
According to Cat scan I have 2 canal tips abscessed causing me a weak bite on left side and dermatitis. Can this bacteria killed with direct antibiotic injection?
Just went through this. Doesn't hurt during the procedure. Hurts once the anesthesia wears off, and you might want ibuprofen. I'm on my second day and it's still sore, but the bleeding has stopped. I'll be back on Saturday to have the excess stitches removed. Bone graft was used on my apicoectomy.
I've had my infection for over a year now. The pain is horrendous. I've had 2 root canals and 2 apicoectomies and it still bothers me every night. The dentist won't pull the tooth yet he said extraction is last resort but I think they are just making a fortune off of my injury. I don't feel like they want to fix it but rather schedule me in for as many appointments as possible. I've been on thousands of antibiotics and painkillers over the last 17 months. It's hell. I hate canadas health care system it's for the birds. Am extraction and new tooth would be great but instead they just butcher the crap out of this infected one amd leave it in there.
CHANGE YOUR DIET.. I hv small hole on my left canine tooth. Went to clinic, x-ray and dentist told me I hv abscess. And there is no cure for tooth abscess. That's was 2 years ago. Doc told me that my tooth need root canal. Which I refused to do so since it is not paining me at the moment. I just asked the dentist to seal the hole ( tooth decay). Ard July this year. The same tooth become very sensitive. Slight pressure caused immersed pain. I cant eat or sleep well. There a redness and swollen (a bit) around my gum and no visible puss. When to clinic. And again doc told me to do root canal as my tooth filling cracked and creating an opening for bacteria enter my tooth nerve. Thats on mid August. My root canal appointment is on 1 Nov. So I suffered another weeks. Ate only soft food like tofu, porridge, oat. Mashed potatoes. etc. And that worsen my situation.. Even my jaw hurt lot. I bought all kind of mouth wash, oil pulling, salt rinse, drops for toothache.. Vitamins, herbs.. And even an LED red light which claimed to help reduce swollen. NOTHING works. I change my diet, drink liquid food like bone broth. The most important part.. Avoid sugar and carbs.. My tooth ached, the swollen and redness all gone in 2 days. Today I limited my sugar/carb intake, taking vit D3, K2, calcium, fish oil, high protein drinks as well as magnesium and zinc for my allergy. Good luck to you.
I have a question, when you do this, is the patient supposed to keep their mouth closed in order for the surgeon to access the gum or are you still supposed to keep mouth open?
Remy Cubilo nope. RCT is done before Apico. If RCT isn’t able to save the tooth, then Apico is done. If Apico fails, extraction is the only way followed by tooth implant.
I'm going tomorrow for this surgery can you tell me please how much time required for healing? Can I put temporary crown because I have this problem in my front teeth 😭 seriously I'm going to depression. Please reply
@@Dentalk after seeing the real thing i’m nervous I wish the patient would’ve got up and waved I have to have one done next week the more I look at it the more it doesn’t look so bad😀Thank you for your time
Well funny that this video shows the exact tooth that i had an infection in yet the Endo dr cut along were my gum meets my teeth and flapped the skin of four teeth all the way up to where that video shows the actual place where he should of went in. WTF I have a red mark below my eye now that i am hoping is going to go away and a black and blue part on my lip and the inside of the my lip where the four teeth gum was cut is all black and blue. Its a teaching school but he does have DR in front of his name so he was not the student but working under a attending i haven't had any pain and it seems to be healing i have about 10 stitches i get out tomorrow Monday and i had the procedure on Friday. I am hoping and praying i don't have any discoloration now on my gumline that comes down to my tooth as that is where he cut up not up where the root was. I am going to ask him when i see him tomorrow why he did it that way.
What about if the dentist is saying, you need this surgery but you have no pain even though in the X-ray and 3D images shows there is something, but there is no swelling in the area or pain..
i had contemplated to do this procedure for 3 years. Eventually, the cyst expanded and affected the neigbough tooth. I had to do root canal to my second tooth. AND the procedure. Te took out a huge cyst with a puss from my bone. i suggest you do not delay and do it aftert his hole virus thing ends
Ana X did it hurt? I’m scared of the dentist and even though MY usual one is nice I went to a completely different dentistry and it was hell. I had root canal and she injected anaesthetic and as soon as she did it she went on to the procedure I could feel everything I told her I can feel pain and I was literally shaking and banging my feet in the chair and she injected more and carried on. Once it was done it had finally kicked in and I thought thank god that’s done and now I have a dental fistula that I think by doing research will have to be treated with this. Dentists and me just don’t get along. The thing is I actually take care of my teeth it’s just this one tooth that’s given me problems for a couple of years now
I will be having this done in a couple weeks. The endodontist is recommending valium before procedure but that will require a driver to and from which haven't been able to find. The other option would be to use local anesthetic only. Thoughts?
This process done recently but it's doesn't complete infection clearly.again infected after 10 days so again open it and stitched again infection is coming what I will do 😭. just 5 it was done but not satisfied. Oh my god help me what I will do
Thats an expensive material used in dentistry called 'MTA", to seal the root and never let the bacterial infection within the tooth to reach the periodontal area again " the bone and gum around the tooth" causing the same infection again
It seems that I need this. I have had 3 times root canal on one front tooth in the span of 20 years. The first one is a failure because of stupid Dentist. 3 years later re-do the root canal. No gutta percha inserted by first dentist according 2nd dentist. Since then even after 3rd time root canal, the sensitivity is still there. It's just a soft sensitivity but I can tell that something is wrong. On 3rd time root canal, the apex doesn't want to dry even after 3 visits and the Endodontist just close it on 4rd visit without giving me a solution. What a life because of one tooth.
Mrs has got her 4th root canal done on the same tooth in 5 years now.. And she is complaining from pain apparently there is infection there, and the doctor does not recommend to remove it. We are tired already.. Looks like good income for dentist.. 1 freaking teeth has made our life miserable.
