Uhgg youre bringing back memories. My uncle found me an OLD moped laying next to a dumpster. I would have been like 12 or 13? He grabbed it for me because ive always been a tinkerer😂. It was completely locked up and seized, I pulled the coil apart and cleaned the points, made a new gas tank from a push mower tank, put tubes in the tires, and basically me and my brothers peddled and pushed that thing for 3 or 4 hours till we got everything free and moving. Mannn i will never forget the feeling of accomplishment getting that old rusted hunk of junk running. I rode that thing all over "town"(we live in a farming area in south jersey) I ended up completely modifying the suspension with old small 4wheeler shocks and struts because i rode it through the woods so much (and its regular suspension was blown out)

Good thing you can just plug it into the Cafe, while you recharge it, in the apocalypse. Or that the entire bike is the worst off road shape possible. Or that you carry 2 useless batteries, 100 miles isn't a lot at all. Especially when you want to talk bugout/ apocalypse. The seating position will make pedaling for long distances very bad, and then there is the whole question of reliable Chinese tech, as it's known for. For the amount your code gives off this crap, you can already buy a very proper bike, that will never leave you hanging. Next thing, have fun replacing those tires, tubes and wheels in a pinch situation. Can't nick those 28" ones from that bike lying. The weight this bike throws is is also going to be a massive problem for all proper off roading, especially considering the general height of the derailleur. Speaking of which, cheapest 7 speed set up you could have, and 7 gears are worthless if you have weight on your bike. All this is, is a neat little toy, filled with electrics that will fault. Only question is when, and imagine riding this on a nasty forest trail, even that will rattle it to pieces. Again, an E Bike, and not even an MTB, or bikepacking Gravel Bike, and that you label Apocalypse bike? Just get a regular cheap MTB, spec it to what you need, and you are way better off.

I’ve been looking at foldable e-bikes. One good thing about them is you can easily put them in your trunk. One I was looking at was only about 18 inches across when folded. Remember the line keep it secret, keep it safe? Plus in a true TSHTF scenario it’s a whole lot easier to hide away out of sight. Fold it up on its side and hide under some dense bushes. It makes it much more difficult for someone who wants to steal it to. Fold it up and cable it to itself. Nobody wants to be seen lugging around something that weighs around 80 pounds. One suggestion for safety. They make bicycle mirrors that you strap to your wrists. They’re fully adjustable. Extra good in the fall and winter when heavy coats and sweaters block conventional mirrors.
