Hello all, just to answer some questions, this is getting covered in waterproof concrete with fibers mixed in, also there is rebar weaved all over this with RSJ beams spanning the roof. The concrete round the sides is 12" at its thinest point and upto a metre in parts. the steel box has been covered in DPM so really i've made a steel mould for a concrete box. Now next video won't be ready for a few weeks as concrete has to set etc so next few videos is all about assassins creed tools. ENJOY Colin Furze

+colinfurze make sure you have a escape hatch for safety and you need to look at ventilation also its a can of worms just behind you but doing mine different. back up power fresh water and waste water is also fun working out what to do.

Came here from your tunnel videos which I just discovered. I assumed watching that video that you lived in a detached property. Fair play to you building all this on a semi detached. Legendary stuff. You should fill up the space between the rock wall and the metal wall with like concrete because then it makes less sound when walking in side and its way more steady and it protects from certain radiation waves

You need a poured concrete foundation there and need to reinforce walls so the pressure doesn’t buckle the metal.

+DuckIsDark no it wouldn't. there have been many people that have done it that way. especially if you framed it with rebar and backfield it with concrete like he did. I am licensed class A comercial builder in VA. I can assure you that the corrugated shipping containers can hold a tremendous amount of weight.

+DuckIsDark if you watch the next episode you will see how much extra steel and concrete he adds around the structure. the finished product is crazy strong. he has to add 2 foot of reinforced concrete around the steel bunker. it really turns out well.

+ratgreen Durability seems not to be Colins first concern. If we assume humble 1mm/year for non-protected construction steel in the ground, he's 4mm plates will be totally eaten in 4 years.

I was wondering about the steel too. It doesn't seem necessary from a strength perspective, that's never done afaik, but it might make sense as a faraday cage. Explanation would be good but I guess that gets in the way of all the primal sounds :) I guess it's just one way to make the form for the casting. Temporary plywood is often used but I guess steel works too.

Crikey all that steel must have cost a fortune. I would have dropped a steel container in there, welding up and converting what needed to be. Good job though, but I wouldn't expect anything less from Colin!

@@user-mf6so1ih8z ничего ты не поспешил , бункер реально говняный )))) Сделан неверно , без гидроизоляции , без отвода воды , без коммуникаций , без грамотной вентиляции с размером кладовки )))) Никакой апокалипсис в этой кладовке не пережить , видимо это строят для БДСМ утех )))) Или пытать эмигрантов )))) Другое назначение этому чулану не подходит )))

he didn't water proof the metal and left tack wields, requirements state elongated bead is required, much like a ship. should have driven a eight foot ground rod to induce cathodic protection.
