That was FANTASTIC! It was jaw-dropping to see all the manoeuvres, separations, turnings and reattachments, all done in the void, with no ground or gravity to define their position. And how little by little they left more and more components behind until there was just that little stubby conical tip left re-entering the atmosphere.

I'd been waiting for a video like this my entire life. In fact, I was very upset that "First Man" didn't recreate some kind of "never seen before views" of the LEM landing sequence and instead chose to go down the route of reusing footage any Space nerd had already seen about a million times. THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!

Apollo Trivia : the two spacecraft were rotated 1/4 turn from each other . Think of a nut being loosend from a bolt by 1/4 turn . The front doors of each spacecraft were not aligned with each other . Look at photos of Apollo 9 . I built a Revell plastic model of Apollo and it had an alignment tab that I filed off so I could rotate the two craft to what I thought was the correct position . Love Your Video .

I want to know is the process of docking SCM to LM during trans lunar injection and again during trans earth injection done while the space crafts are in that extremely high speed of about 25000m/h? Please I don't understand or the space craft stop for the docking process to take place?
@jross1269
@jross1269 10 месяцев назад
The low relative velocities of the two vessels made the docking possible. It's similar to matching speeds with someone on the highway. Sure, you're going fast, but not compared to each other.

Speed is relative, like on earth you're always in fact blasting around the sun at high speed, but you don't notice it

6:09 Why the heck would you skip the trip to the moon??!!! Glossing over. That’s the part I find hardest to imagine

I just can't handle this measure system. First it was nm/h, then km/s, then feet/sec. I suspect that's the reason why so many modules has crashed on the moon lately

very cool. I jusy wish the LM was textured accurately. Here it just doesn't look good.

I would have preferred to see the whole simulation time lapsed rather than edited but I got a good idea of what went on. I was more interested in in the transposition and docking which is what led me here.

Buzz Aldrin interview: Look at this photo. You say it's me. Okay….Look at the nameplate. He says yes, Aldrin. Looks like you're right, but notice the helmet, can you see my face??... Neem!! It's a secret... I've kept it for almost half a century. Neil Armstrong and I pulled humanity's first extraterrestrial prank. Zoé and Buzz : Why hasn't anyone been on the moon for so long? Buzz : Hahh….This is not an 8 year old's question…..this is my question. I'd like to know, but I think I do. Because we didn't go there. And that's why it happened. And if it didn't happen, it would be nice to know why it didn't happen. So in the future, if we want to continue something, we need to know why something stopped in the past. Once an audience : : What was the scariest moment of the trip? Buzz : Scariest?.....it didn't happen…….it was scary. Host Conan O'Brien talks to Buzz Aldrin. : Conan : I remember very clearly, I think anyone who was alive at the time, my parents waking me up and we went down and watched you guys land on the moon. Buzz: NO, NO, NO...... Conan: What?? Buzz: you didn't know because it wasn't broadcast by any TV, it wasn't about taking pictures, YOU WATCHED AN ANIMATION... So you connected what you saw with that..... (understand, it couldn't be a live broadcast, because they weren't there) Conan : I have very vague memories (recently he remembered clearly), but what I saw was that we were all gathered around the radio...(it was still with the TV before) Buzz: Did you hear me talking about how many feet we go left and right Neil Armstrong Al Gore: Millions of Americans admired you, not only for your achievements, but for the QUIET dignity with which you conducted yourself. Neil : The only bird that can talk is a parrot, and it DOESN'T FLY very well, but it talks a lot-( Understand, NASA talks a lot, but they can't fly there) There are undiscovered breakthroughs for those who can remove one of the protective layers of truth. There are places to go beyond BELIEF….because they are LIES, and therein lies human destiny" The protective layer of the truth, the lie. It means that if you can see past the lies, the truth will come out.

No, if the lunar orbit insertion had failed they were on a free return path, so would have returned to the earth. Nice simulation.
