Apollo 12 launched from Cape Kennedy on Nov. 14, 1969, into a cloudy, rain-swept sky. Launch controllers lost telemetry contact at 36 seconds, and again at 52 seconds, when the Saturn V launch vehicle was struck by lightning.
In addition to continuing Apollo's lunar exploration tasks, Charles Conrad, Alan Bean, and Richard Gordon deployed the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package, a set of investigations left on the Moon's surface to gather data.

Thank you, Charles Conrad, Jr, Richard F. Gordon, Jr.and Alan L. The engineers and scientists and technicians and everyone else who worked on Apollo were heroes in their own way, but those who take off sitting on top of a bomb, in effect, are beyond heroic. And that continues on to now and the future. Thank you for showing this, and reminding me of the nights my dad would wake me up so I would see something on TV that was literally out of this world. I was v young, but he told me to watch and remember, because it was important. He was right. 😊

Hand Made Human Im guessing that by your profile pic you’re a flat earther right? And to answer that supid question on your profile picture where did the stars go? It’s called fast exposure. Fast exposure is used when the light is really bright. And because of the really bright light, fast exposure won’t be able to capture the stars in a photo. Maybe in future technology it will, but not today.

SCE - try turning it off and back on again. No, REALLY. I read a more detail review of this a long time ago. It was SO unusual and unexpected, that's why the astronauts had to ask for verification and s physical location of the switch. If he hadn't have solved it within those 15-odd seconds, they would have had to abort the launch.

Apollo 11 supposedly landed on the moon on July 24, 1969. Apollo 12 landed on November 24, 1969. I would love to hear your thoughts on what was NASA incapable of that required faking the Apollo 11 mission that they were able to do just 4 months later? Be specific...

It is important that humans return to the moon first . NASA plan to send people to Mars in about 15 years from now , hopefully that can happen . They need to build faster rockets to reduce the travel time and radiation exposure to astronauts on the journey there from 6 months to a matter of weeks . Several un-crewed supply ships will be sent prior to people arriving on Mars and will be in position when the first people land .

One small step for man was said going down that ladder but I ask this? who put the camera outside the craft to point at the astronaut going down stairs to the moon surface?
@dansv1
@dansv1 9 месяцев назад
The answer is easy to find; I’m curious why you didn’t google it to find out. “The camera was stowed in an instrument pallet known as the MESA (Modular Equipment Stowage Assembly) in the LM descent stage. The MESA was to the left of the ladder as viewed from the front of the LM. When Armstrong was at the top of the ladder, he pulled a lanyard to swing open the MESA, which was hinged at the bottom. The TV camera, which was attached to it, would also swing down. It was mounted upside-down so as to secure it firmly to the MESA with vibration isolators and to also simplify its removal by the astronaut. Aldrin then switched on the camera by pushing in the TV circuit breaker in the cabin of the LM. The camera was pointing at the ladder of the LM, so that TV pictures of Armstrong's initial steps on the Moon could be relayed to the world. Later, after Aldrin had descended to the surface, Armstrong mounted the TV camera on a tripod, and placed it some 10 metres (33 feet) from the LM. The camera was left unattended to cover the crew's activities during the remainder of the moonwalk.”
