Three wonderful games, finally on current consoles! Now we just need the investigations games and maybe the Layton crossover, then the entire series all be easily playable!
The fact that the entire AA saga is in HD and on Switch is really cool. This is the first time these games aren't on a handheld (sort of) The Phoenix Trilogy gets so much love, it's nice to see Apollo get some attention too.
This trailer might have come out of nowhere, but I'm excited for the release date for the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy. Love this series along with Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective.
Honestly I’m of the opinion this trilogy is as strong as the original but for completely different reasons. This franchise is among my favorites in video games. I REALLY hope we start seeing preparation for an Athena trilogy. I’ve been waiting SO long. And I hope these 3 games get the respect they so desperately deserve.
I'm curious, what different reasons make this trilogy as strong as the first in your opinion? I love all of them but definitely prefer the original trilogy.
@@benjmenj it relies more on hindsight than the original did. I describe it as a leaky dam. They covered the leaks later, and when it did, it became stronger. The more I play the AJ trilogy, the more I find. And while that is DEFINITELY there in the original, it’s more so there in the 2nd trilogy. Roger Retinz, Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice and MANY others have truly great arcs that get better with hindsight. Another big one is that the 1st trilogy is more of a story, and the 2nd trilogy is people just living their lives. Again, not that it’s not there, but with the expanded cast, it’s that many more arcs to balance which becomes the focus. I literally dedicate my channel to this series and love talking about it
@@Kaempfdog Definitely agree that it gets better in hindsight. At first I thought Apollo was a pretty dry character, but seeing the way he is developed through the three games as a whole made me love him a lot.
Nah, I want this to succeed more than anyone but this is just delusional. Apollo Justice is entirely disconnected from everything that happens in the other two games and has the worst cases of the series, DD is just mid and has little to no role for Apollo, and SoJ is the only one that could stand up to the trilogy with consistently good cases.
Hearing Klavier Gavins theme play actually brought me to tears. I forgot that i grew up with this series and how much this series means to me. So glad these games are coming to switch!
i became an ace attorney fan around this time last year after playing dual destinies for the first time. i have since played every game in the series, but i still think the new trilogy is my favorite era of it. so hyped for this.
@@personthatdoesntexistratioI care, so speak for yourself. Why would you leave such an asinine, negative comment consisting of two words with one of them misspelled?
I’m ridiculously grateful that these games have been updated and saved from being stuck on the 3DS. If Capcom could make a Miles Edgeworth Investigations duology, not only would we finally have every single game available on modern platforms (except Layton Vs. Wright), but I could die in peace.
Bad ending: Instead of AA7 they release the Investigations Duology and then the Layton crossover, but so many years go by during that time that the current console generation has already ended. So they re-release the Phoenix Wright Trilogy again and the cycle repeats eternally.
This is far more feature-packed than I was expecting! I was already planning to get this (and in process Apollo [DS, iOS] and Spirit [3DS, iOS] a third time…) but this massively sweetened the deal!
I'm soooo looking forward to this new Ace Attorney Trilogy game! I've played both Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, and finished them.😄
@@QueenTwilightSparkle1I agree. The closest game to mid would be Apollo Justice, but I still wouldn’t call it that. Dual Destinies is pretty good, and Spirit of Justice is absolutely insanely incredible.
@@dannysmi7162 Yep, completely agree there. I don't think there's a bad Ace Attorney game. Spirit of Justice has its flaws, but that doesn't change the fact that it's incredible
I'm super excited to play these games again but on modern consoles. They're so much fun! Really hoping we get the two Investigations games next because I NEED Investigations 2 to be localized.
It’s going to be weird having to get used to the official names for all of that games exclusive characters considering how I’m so used to the fan translations names
Meh, at this point the fan translation has existed for over 10 years and we’re all used to those names. I think it’d be a bit annoying to have to get used to all the new names. I already found it a little weird having to learn the TGAA names after playing the fan translation 2 years earlier, and that was just half the cast or so getting new names. AAI2’s cast would be a lot more
I literally just got into this series two months ago! Such good amazing and hilarious games I cannot wait for the next trilogy, will preorder it asap!!
I think I played the first Apollo Justice maybe 15 years years ago. I’m so excited to replay the first two and play the third for the first time!! This is a beautiful release-thank you.
I already picked these up for super cheap on the 3ds shop when it was closing and Im currently playing SoJ. Im happy these back for those who missed out on the original releases
Crazy that this trilogy releases a day after my birthday. Makes me want to get it to replay the series! Though I'll be honest, there is a certain case I am dreading from the first game and many would know what I am talking about lol
@@linusovery-smith4246 Obviously I mean the case that forces you watch that same darn clip over and over again. I did say first game and the other three cases aren't bad (especially the first one)
I love the ace attorney series to death and this got me hella excited!!! I admit I wasn't too interested in buying the first trilogy on switch since I already own them on ds nor do I feel a strong sense of replaying them. HOWEVER the Apollo trilogy is my absolute favorite and its definitely a must for me!
I could not agree more. Apollo is by far my favourite character. In the first game, his cases come together so well, and the second game with Clay Terran still wrecks me inside.
I played both the Ace Attorney Trilogy and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles and absolutely LOVED them both! I'm definitely gonna be picking this up Day 1, and finally get to experience the final 3 games in the (mainline) Ace Attorney series that I haven't played yet, since my introduction to the series was through the original AA Trilogy collection, and I've been waiting for the final 3 games to be re-released on modern consoles to play them! Dang, now I'm really in the mood to replay the AA trilogy again before this game comes out, it's a been quite awhile since I last played it, and I'd like to refresh my memory on all the cases and characters before diving into the Apollo Justice Trilogy completely blind! 😄
@@Cassirole7I am aware. And I said Unfortunately as I loved these 3 games too much to pass up despite it being 60 or maybe 40. Not sure of the price again for this.
When i first play Apollo Justice, it didn't leave me with strong lasting feeling. Maybe because i was pissed off by phoenix wright's fate, so i play it very slowly. But after replaying it again on 3ds after playing dual destinies and spirit of justice, i can say that Apollo Justice is one of the best Ace Attorney game, maybe because i already invested in Apollo Justice character and already know what will happen to Phoenix Wright. Truly happy to finally see it on switch.
It really is good that they didn't make a huge wait to get the 3ds games ported. (Even as someone who bought them right before the closure) Good to see the Ace Attorney support. (Sorta wish that the anime had come out these days instead of before)
Im so excited for this cause the pheonix Wright games are some of my favorite games. I've only played the first apollo justice game, so i can't wait for this to be released. Im so glad it's getting released in January, so i dont have to wait much longer
Yay 😁 now we just need the Steam/PC release date and the Investigation games and we’ll have all the Ace Attorney games. I hope we can also get the crossover with Professor Layton and then the Layton games too
HECK YES!!!!!! Do you know how long I’ve wanted these three games to come out for the switch?! Too long!!!!!! Now, they need to do this for Professor Layton series too!!!!
@@personthatdoesntexistratio Your dedication to be the number one Ace Attorney hater in this comment section is both inspiring and laughable. You do you, crazy person.
I’m excited, i’ve never played any of the Ace Attorney games, only heard of them but i’m thinking of getting this one to be my first game to the series 🤩
The name feels weird since the latter two games are called _Phoenix Wright._ But I'm excited! Was recently wondering when we'd get more _Ace Attorney..._ Kinda wish they were new games, though.
Thank you for pointing that out. I didn't even know whether this was new or not because I just bought a game that was called phoenix wright trilogy. They really need a different name lol
They should have called it Ace Attorney Vol. 2, also we need AA Investigations 1 & 2, never had the chance to play them, and new games would be great as well.
AWESOME! I literally just finished the first trilogy recently, loved it, was looking into buying the 2nd trilogy and this drops! I can't wait to play these!
Apollo: "Apollo Justice is doing fine!" Phoenix: "Time to bring it to an end!" Maya: *SOUL CRUSHING SILENCE* EDIT: Also, I see they redubbed the 4th game with the 5th/6th game cast.
The best part about this is that DD and SoJ are finally translated in other languages than japanese and english. I played both in english 2 years ago but this kind of games is much more confortable to play in one's mother tongue
Nintendo: Let’s remove the only way to buy these games by removing the ability to make purchases on the eShop anymore.😈 Capcom: Fine! We’ll just remaster them in HD for every console! 😎
I’m very happy about this existing, but it really annoys me that they decided to call it the “Apollo Justice Trilogy”, considering Apollo Justice is its own game and the other two are their own duology
All we need is the Investigations Duology (Investigations Chronicles maybe?) and we'll basically have them all available on switch! (Plus as much as I love "Prosecutor's Path" I'd love an official translation of Investigations 2!) Regardless, I'm super excited for this trilogy. Will definitely be getting myself the physical version like i did with the first one ❤
Man I'm so excited for this! I played the Phoenix Wright trilogy at the suggestion of a friend and immediately fell in love with the series. It's just so charming. I'm so happy to play more
I saw the announcement trailer when it dropped on the PlayStation RU-vid channel, but this trailer makes everything look so much better. IM SO HYPED FOR THIS GAME BRO
@@pearlplayaaEh, kind of. I'd say it's more half-and-half. But, more pertinently, it's not like they ever picked up on any of the dangling plot threads leftover from the first (only, really) AJ game.
He's the main focus for the story in two out of the three games and even in dual destinies still has a decent role in the story Wouldn't feel right calling it Athena's trilogy since she was introduced in the second game here and was only the main focus in that game, and Phoenix is mostly sidelined here too
@@pearlplayaa You mean he's playable in one case out of four. And then he proceeds to be playable in 4 out of 6 cases of both the remaining games. And who even is talking about Athena? Lmao
YES! I knew it! I bloody knew it! I never had proof but I never doubted we'd one day get the full Apollo Justice Trilogy on the Switch. Our patience has been rewarded and now we'll be able to have the (almost) full Ace Attorney games on the Switch. Now, when can we expect a Miles Edgeworth HD release Nintendo? Also, we're loooong overdue the unreleased in the west Ace Attorney Investigations 2. You can make this right Ninty, I believe in you. Cheers!
Already have the original trilogy on my switch, I look forward to adding these to my collection. I have fond memories of playing all 6 games (original trilogy and these three) on my 3DS back in the day. Good times.
