i agree...towards the end, the song sounds like a song i used to sing when i was little "...found a peanut, found a peanut, found a peanut just now, just now i found a peanut, found a peanut just now." the more i see this clip the more the music makes me giggle, but the dancing was amazing!
They are two rather different shows.....So You Think You Can Dance is for people who probably spend years perfecting their routines to win a big prize....DWTS is a group of celebrities who hardly have any dance experience to do form a decent routine in about a week! That's hard enough as it is! Any REAL dancer would know that to be able to make a dance like Apollo and Julianne did in the span of week or so is an amazement in itself!
I understand that, but I watch a dance show to see spectacular dancing. I don't watch Dancing With The Stars because I don't want to think "That's it? That was good for how fast they learned it." I want to be blown away. Besides, it doesn't matter what show you watch, judges are always nicer to celebrities. Singing competitions, dance shows, whatever. That kind of bugs me.
Given the level of expertise of the celebrities--I don't think they have the experience to do anything apart from flashy moves. The professional dancers are looking at how much their partners can retain as a guideline and adjust accordingly to give it any kind of semblance to the actual dance. However, I admit some of the professional dancers do a better job in choreographing than others.
The music was more powerful, as this was when Harold Wheeler's band played on the show. Much better than Whitney and Frankie? They shouldn't have made it so similar.
Now this is the strength that shorter Frankie tried to imitate. Even pro Whitney could not match Julianne on this one. Don't get me wrong, I do like Frankie and Whitney. But some originals you have to leave alone especially when other dancers don't match up well.
Llámalo X, pero por favor no insulten al pasodoble. Nosotros no nos metemos con ¿Qué bailan los usa? Pues eso... (Ellos fantásticos bailarines pero mala elección)
SYTYCD is diverse and that's why it's great. But there have been WAY better Paso Doble, Fox Trots, Waltzes, and so on SYTYCD than Dancing with Stars. I understand that the celebrities aren't professional dancers, but I prefer not to watch people with their training wheels.
Yes--teach CELEBRITIES the technicalities and nuances of a dance all in the span of one week. Try to be a bit more realistic. The standards and expectations set are not for professionals but amateurs.
