It is a popular teaching in Nigeria where they want believers to offer sacrifices like Noah, Abraham etc. The sacrifices however should be Money or a particular amount of prayer or fasting. They claim that even when you can't do anything, what you have done will speak for you. They give an example of Jacobs ladder, that is where Abraham built an altar and sacrificed to God.
