In this video we will see how to make appam recipe in tamil. We are going to make appam batter in mixie. Appam is a very popular tiffen recipe in Kerala. It is also a popular street food. This appam maavu can be prepared after soaking rice for 4 hours and after grinding in mixie it is fermented for 8-10 hours. This traditional appam recipe is made with raw rice and coconut can be enjoyed with coconut milk, vegetable curry, egg curry, chicken gravy and a lot more. The fermented spongy appam will soak up the gravy very well. Appam has a unique texture of being crispy on the edges while remaining soft in the center.

Hi, i started using youtube recipes recently to vaious videos but ur madras samayal is very nice. The reason is ur all videos are short and to the point. All the videos are maximum 5 to 6 min. Tried it for 1st time. Batter doesn't ferment like when yeast is used. So I thought it won't come we'll added 2 pinch soda. It was hardly 1gm. Appam came out very well. Kudos.. I had been watching this video from yrs but finally prepared yesterday n made Appam today. Thank you 😊

Great Steffi, made it very simply,,, but in our family we make it with raw rice+idly rice+urad dal+coconut+ sadham+sugar+salt+javvarisi, grinding and fermentation and then pouring, taste used to be heavenly....
