Apparently Mushoku Tensei Episode 16 Will Be The Best Episode Yet 

I think you made the right choice in not reading the LN's and staying Anime only. Even though I would love to hear your perspectives with the full context. But here's an idea; why not read volume 1-4 of Mushoku Tensei in-between each episode. That way you still are "Anime only" with the current content, but are slowly catching up to the older content. You could even make videos about each volume and your thoughts on them. There is so much extra stuff, which I am sure you know how it is with LN --> Anime adaptations. Either way, I just want to thank you for all the Mushoku content.

Your third theory is correct partially. I can tell you though that episode 16 has a lot of character development.

You are right about recent episodes going to be epic. Specifically related to the relationships and mistakes he made in his past life that he will try to not repeat again in this life.

I recommend reading the LN Aura.

I also recommend the LN over the manga. Manga is a pretty poor adaptation that changed a lot of content (to extreme degrees) and also completely skipped volume 7. As an example, the entire last episode of MT was not in the Manga. No ghislaine backstory, no character development for Eris, nothing with the Great Forest, no prophecy...none of it. Completely skipped. I can't say the Manga is "bad", but only if you've read the books. Otherwise you're getting a very different experience than what the author intended.

Imo I would have ended the episode right around after that preview scene where that fighter slice the wall thing, leaving all of the next episode for the follow up. But I am pretty sure that they'll end it in the middle of the follow up, which won't be as good imo. : /

@@animeverbum6420 Cannot complain when we have no episode to complain about yet. We can always wish for better. For improvement. Specially since this is all speculation about the pacing of the next 2 episodes. I do not know what my job has to do with these youtube comments however.

As a LN reader I think I know what is coming next. But I am three episodes behind in the anime. But I don't say anything I care a lot about spoiling for others too.

This next episode is what got me completely hooked on the series. But I wouldn't say its the greatest moment in Mushoku Tensei. Top 5, maybe top 10 at least. Anime onlys: If you think the next two episodes are good, just know that (at least in my opinion) the series only gets better and better each volume.

Interesting Donitol I am a LN Reader but only from when the manga ended. I went Anime then Manga then LN. Now I am re-reading the entire LN from start. I knew for a while now the Manga is the worst of the three but now I have more to look forward too when watching the next few episodes of the anime and also when I get to that point in the LN as well. Even the anime does not fully cover what is in the LN. However the anime is well animated and in many ways that can outdo the LN if done well.

@@MrArrmageddon Yes. That particular scene is actually much more impactful in the LN because you get to see not only one, but both side of the stories. I hope that the anime will do this as well because this entire confrontation is supposed to be the foundation for another scene in the future. That's a long way from here though because even the manga has not gotten that far yet.

@@donitol2693 Yes I started to read the LN from were the Manga cut off. And I noticed how the LN told various stories from both sides. Like a certain someone who is hiding away in a dark dorm room that is a great read in the LN and a ways off for the anime. But I have to admit. I thought a completely different scene was coming up in the anime. I went and checked the Anime wiki and I was like no way it's that far ahead yet. So I went and checked the LN Vol of were the anime is. And I now know what scene is coming up. And I'm equally excited still. I am on Vol 3 of the LN as I'm now reading it from the start to cover everything I missed. I thought the scene coming up in the anime involved the "Do you know this persons name?" "Yes I do!" I want to see that so badly in the anime. When you combine knowledge from the LN and visuals from the anime. I think that is the ultimate way to experience this series. And toss the manga aside. But that is mostly because the manga is least accurate.

Mushoku tensei is a wonderful masterpiece of art, animation and passion. So in conclusion I believe this anime should transcend from anime of the year to anime of the decade.

the manga is pretty close to LN at this point, so you probaly have a good idea whats coming..

The manga is very different, it removes a lot from the light novels and most things have a comedy feel to it

Not to mention it *changes* content which is (in my opinion) worse than cutting content. The shirone arc is much different in Manga than LN. I was so confused after reading the Manga and then going into novels that I had to re-read from the beginning.

@@zhulianfeags16 the manga is at volume 8, not even close to carching up to the ln, and that's with skipping entire volumes worth of the story

SAME! This is literally the moment I fell in love with the series and made me read and buy all light novels and read the webnovel.

The extra chapter of volume 1 is something I like to go back and read. The scene with Zenith and Rudy. It's so damn wholesome.

14-15... The anime-onlies are not ready for that. Hell, I'm an LN reader and I'm still not ready to see the beginning of 15 fully animated.

On the Mushoku Tensei subreddit, someone posted the illustrations for volume 15. I forgot how much epic stuff happens in volume 15. That to me is the #1 volume. To be fair, I haven't read 20-25 *yet* but just thinking about everything in 15, I can't see it being beaten. Edit: I got confused on the volume ordering between WN and Light Novel. Apparently volume 15 of the Light Novel covers the stuff of volume 16's Web Novel. I thought it was reverse, and that LN was ahead 1 volume numerically. In other words WN vol 16 = LN vol 15 which is the volume I am most excited for.

I've read the webnovel so I don't know anything about volume 7 yet (started reading the LN version recently), do you think it's as good as 5? Cuz that's some high praise.
