The protagonists are also smart in the Bad Batch(especially after early season 1). And in Ahsoka it’s Sabine that makes dumb decisions not Ahsoka herself

@@cael4065 Thrawn was an absolute moron in the Ahsoka series. He succeeds but only when the plot needed him to. The ending of Bad Batch is ridiculously stupid considering these morons escape to a city which is known to the Empire just 2 or 3 episodes prior to the finale. I, just like many people out there, once thought that Filoni would be able to salvage something where Star Wars is concerned. Turns out, he’s almost as bad as the rest of the hack writers at LucasFilm.

This is why i think Amandla stenberg's character ends up hating the Jedi for seperating her from her sister where she was trained as a Jedi. And that black woman, matriarch of the group says to stenberg "change the tide" or something, and before when she also said - "this is about power and who get's to use it." This is why stenberg's character becomes that assassin, murdering Jedi, starting with Carrie Ann-Moss's Jedi. I would imagine IF Plageuis is in this, he's definitely the "Big Bad" using the witch coven and Amandla Stenberg's character when she becomes the Acolyte. But i like your idea, a young Plageuis would be consistent timeline-wise.

The lines in the trailer are simply lazy writing, let's call it what it is. They only care about a good hook, and likely forgetting that 100 year time jump isn't enough for everyone in universe to forget something when you have people that live over 900 years.

Stupidity was the Clone Wars show where the writers decided that Yoda had a vision of Order 66 and chose to do nothing about it. Stupidity was to placing their role of keeping the balance on one persons shoulders, who they might be training, and then brush off must of his issues. The Jedi did a lot of stupid things. Hunting down lone Sith that weren’t presenting much of an issue wasn’t.

Yeah, but you also have to remeber, according to legends fron this era, and even canon. The current sith are a Mune (Plagueis) and a Bith (Tenebrous). Both of which can kive for well over 100+ years, up to 200 maybe even 300s idk. All I know is they can live for multiple centuries.

I'm always conflicted on this, because on one hand there is no such thing as a pure "force for good." The world is complicated, and we've moved past the "golly-gee" Christian optimism of the 50s etc. From a narrative standpoint, pure good vs pure evil is also pretty uninteresting. All that being said, there are good and bad ways to do this. Andor does it well because its shows the difficulty of "using the tools of my enemy to defeat them" while still having hope and "good guys" in the narrative. Star Wars is really struggling with this otherwise.

This all really kind of points toward a bigger thing regards these writers today. They all want to "Deconstruct" things, especially classic things. It's about them "Normalizing" what is simply NOT NORMAL.

A summary that means nothing until the show releases and we can judge for ourselves.

We’ve had that much content surrounding the prequel era and the initial aftermath (Order 66 scenes in Obi-wan and Mando) like Bad Batch, and Tales of the Jedi & Empire. The only real piece of sequel era content we’ve ever gotten after that trilogy was Resistance

I'm not one to defend Disney but on this you are just wrong. We've had ALOT of content covering the prequel era. Mostly relating to the 19 years between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope. If you mean the time directly before The Phantom Menace or the 10 years between that movie and Attack Of The Clones then maybe.

@@muigokublack6487 I was thinking more about the Marketing they did over the past years, toys newly released etc. They're already slowing down with ST, focusing mostly on OG, but I hope they can focus more on PT. We had a lot of shows, true, also thanks to Filoni. But there were also interviews when SW creators were distancing themselves from PT, or their belief that the modern shows are fixing PT. Maybe you are right, but my feeling was different in the past few years.

@@Gatsby101 This can be explained by the fact that Maul uses a red lightsaber and Form 7. Both not Jedi standard. Form 7 normally requires the dark side and is only known to a handful of Jedi who can use it "safely" (Mace's group). But the most important thing is the red lightsaber, it's not just a color choice you have to "corrupt" the crystal to get red, it's not exactly a technique a Jedi would be familiar with. At the end of the day, it is one person's assessment that Maul is a Sith, probably because he is so alien to Qui-Gon that he doesn't even think of him as a fallen Jedi. But when you arrive on a planet where 10 Jedi have died at the hands of a lightsaber and all you find is a Jedi Knight who has fallen to the dark side and needs to be killed, then you don't think of a Sith conspiracy. Not that it will be that in the end, I don't know what the writers are planning, but that would fit with the attitude of the Jedi at the time. I have no hope that this series will be good. All I'm saying is, the time isn't necessarily an issue if you have a plan to explain it.

The more I think about it the less likely it is that they'll solve it so neatly, but my point was just that it would be possible to do a series in this timeperiod and leave the lore intact.

​@@oXRaptorzXo Sounds trivial but it's a serious point. It was Lucas' expression of 'realism' that the Queen of Naboo had intricate hair/makeup, and normal people didn't. Now average people have it. Creators all have different visions/values/emphasises and none are objectively better/worse, but I strongly prefer consistency within the same franchise. When people say "it doesn't feel like Star Wars" but can't put their finger on good reasons why, this is one.

Whoever's saying that line sounds oddly similar to something a bitter and jaded Kreia from Kotor 2 would also say.

Mando season 1 and Andor were good

To be fair, Mandalorian was great the first two seasons, and apparently people like Andor (I watched like five episodes and couldn't have been less entertained). The only faith I have with Disney Star Wars lies in the animated side of things (although Tales of The Empire was certainly disappointing, it wasn't Kenobi-level terrible, it was more so Ahsoka-level mediocre). But yeah, overall, live action Star Wars is certainly something I won't be giving a chance to in a while.

Considering you saw the Acolyte preview I’d expect you to maybe be surprised and not inherently think it was garbage before seeing it.

@@achaudhari101 Before seeing what, the whole show? Nobody mentioned any assumptions about the show itself, and people can have different opinions than you about this trailer, you know. It's right there in the comment, "bland, overly edited product in the Acolyte advertisement." The guy wasn't impressed by the cinematography of the shots shown in the trailer, that's it. Frankly, I agree, particularly with the fight scenes. They feel, I don't know, uninspired, at least specifically during the fight scenes. Still, nobody here is under the impression that the trailer is perfectly representative of the show. This is Thor Skywalker's audience we're talking about, he's about the most open-minded fan out there. Hell, half of this video is explaining how out of context lines from the trailer might be.

I too hope for some interesting but high unlikely possbilities in this new timeline: - the return of Darth Krayt + Talon and the One Sith from the Legacy comics to return from the ashes and escapees of the Final Order + Sith Cult on Exogol. They can appear years down the line in the timeline when Rey and her New Jedi Order (ew) inevitably best the new villains of the upcoming movies. - Disney will never do it but I so badly want them to retcon the Grysk as one of many slave races of the Yuuzhan Vong; similar to what the Hutt Clans have done. In this way, the YV could still be terrifying extra-galactic invaders that'll conquer the unprepared galaxy or send it all up in flames as their species falls into oblivion. - I'd like Canon to make references to things from Supernatural and Cult Encounters since they're pretty much a well-written Infinities novels. Wicked ancestors or straight up revived entities introduced in SE could prove interesting antagonists/villains to actually challenge and humble not only Rey but any and all who claim themselves bold enough to attempt conquest over a galaxy. Something like the World Razer, an ancient AI that seeks to assimilate all organic life, a impatient litch king associated with the Sorcerers of Rhand would make truly terrifying villains as their morals are completely alien or lacking.

@@rvds2040 I haven’t watched Mando season 3, Ahsoka, Tales of the Jedi, or any Bad Batch post Season 1. I canceled my subscription to Disney+, and I don’t feel any need to waste my time watching it, especially if I think it’s going to be bad. I have other shows that have my interest, especially since Lucasfilm has made it abundantly clear that as a longtime fan base I’m not the target audience.
