How does this make Marylanders less safe? Criminals didn't and won't follow the laws, so that doesn't change. This only caused delay for the law abiding and fattened the States coffers with fees. As to guns getting stolen out of cars, a way to reduce that is to allow people to carry in more places. Right now, when you can't carry into a building, you have to lock the gun up in your car. Most people have basically gun suitcases. All these criminals do is just keep watch then to steal guns from the law abiding. Yup, gun control is putting more guns into criminals hands. If you don't believe me, look at the gun theft ring that was busted in FL a couple months ago.

The point few of CITIZEN'S need to be more deeply RESPONSIBLE would help GREATLY (But you know there doing it for the insurance). However the flip side to really prevent stealing out of vehicles in a non-watched security parking lot area would be assigned building area were you can lock your weapon in a stall locker take the key go inside the building do your business then return pick it back up would be nice future opportunity. But never use brief case always have gun case mounts installed in your vehicle with two gun cases (fingers print lock mounted one in trunk other up front under or next driver side leg).

@@jonahkaun891 well regulated applies to the training needed for an effective militia, so you're correct in that. However, you fail to recognize what follows. "...the right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed". The militia clause "A well regulated militia, being necessary to a free state..." is stating the obvious necessity, that there be a counter balance to forces directed by central government. States need well trained militias. Our system, as designed, was to give first, the power to the PEOPLE, second to the states, last and least, to the federal central govt. It's not complicated, read the constitution, federalist papers, state constitutions and those the founders cited in the documents creation. Understand "natural rights", the terms "inalienable" and "granted by the Creator" for context.

@MartyBugg I suggest you re read Article 1 (it's in a later section) and Article 2 (an earlier section) to reacquaint yourself with how the Constitution talks about, and describes the regulation of, the militia. At no point does the document suggest that the militias "counter balance" federal forces. The PEOPLE elect the representatives who enact the laws. THAT is where our power comes from: not the threat of armed insurrection (and a number of processes to remove corrupt officials and overturn laws and even change the Constitution). Oh, speaking of which, Article 1 specifically states that one intent of the militia is to put down insurrection. Kind-of funny . . .

Once your mark you are a Felon, the FFL is required to not sell a gun to you. That's even before a background check is processed. When they actually run the background check, it's going to comeback DENIED. FFL's can't sell when there's a denial from the Feds. Still, Baltimore has more crime than places like Chicago. I think only DC beats Baltimore in violent crime. Here's the issue, and it's not more gun control. The issue is criminals do NOT follow rules. That's why they're criminals. No law, even new laws can force them to follow laws, old or new. Like you, these criminals love more gun regulation because it disarms The People and allows them to create more victims. What we need to is the repeal of all these bogus gun regulations that only cause a delay in allowing the law abiding from being able to protect themselves and their loved ones. We need the state to offer free gun safety courses on a regular bases though out the State, especially if a class is going to be required to exercise a Right that's in the Bill of Rights! What we need is Constitutional Carry like in more than 1/2 the States. What need is LESS gun regulations on the law abiding.
