You can use the Android TV remote app for the Chromecast via wifi however it’s buggy on iPhone and sometimes doesn’t like to connect.

Good comparison here. The only thing I noticed you missed is the fact that you can play full on console gaming in 4K with the Google device with Stadia and it works really well as long as you have a good internet connection. I am using it and it's been kind of crazy how good it is. I completely forgot I'm even using a streaming device as it has better graphics than my PS4 did. Plus I'm using the PS4 controller with it as it's compatible.

If you already own any Apple products (iPad, iPhone, Homepod, Apple watch, Air Pods, Macbook etc.) you already know Apple TV is a MUCH better option for you, than Chromecast. Apple TV's ability to mirror iPad or iPhone displays full screen, without clunky 3rd party apps is a feature I use daily. Especially if your Apple TV is connected to a projector. Also apple TV allows you to listen to your media using yourAirpods or Homepod speaker. Not hating on Chromecast, but once you've joined Team Apple, it's generally best to stay inside the resort.

I want the Apple TV but can't get over the price tag. The Chomecast is *SO* much more affordable and works flawlessly so there really isn't much discussion.

Apple TV user here for 10 years. If something is cheap, there's always a reason. The Apple TV uses quality components that give top performance along with top security / privacy. My experience shows that it's flawless for the 4 years that I keep the before giving it to a friend once the new model comes out. I don't see £189 as expensive when it's the main component of a TV media device. It's the price of a bottle of Tom Ford fragrance or a nice pair of sneakers or a nice shirt or half the price of a really nice pair of jeans (DSquared). Save up for it, you won't regret it. Quality with top craftsmanship. That's been my ATV 10 year experience!

@@BarcelonasHotCrowd The only thing Apple gives you is a huge price mark up on everything they sell. If I need a app to launch a second quicker I can get another super fast Nvidia Shield running Google TV. But considering the Google TV Chromecast runs every thing very smoothly why pay 3x more and have no choice on how I want to use my device like is the case with the locked down Apple TV? Google TV gets same day automatic updates just like Apple TV does plus I can do 4K console gaming via Google Stadia on and of my Google devices at far less cost. Just because you pay way more doesn't mean it's way better.

AppleTV 4K is sooo much better. The only drawback is that it's more expensive. First off, it's not Google, so that's a huge plus. Not having a company like Google connected to your everyday life and everything you do is a great thing. Not saying Apple is great, but to Google, YOU are the product that they are selling. AppleTV 4K is also much faster than the chromecast. If you have a large collection of movies or tv shows in Plex (as an example), scrolling through them quickly is a nightmare on the chromecast compared to the ATV. The way that homekit is used and built into ATV is phenomenal. If you want to automate your house, get homekit compatible products and then use them by having the ATV as your hub and it's amazing what you can do. Someone rings your doorbell and instantly see who it is on your tv with your video doorbell. Or you can see it on your iPhone from hundreds of miles away. This also goes for controlling any of your homekit enabled devices from miles away. The ATV makes this seamless. Just the lack of Dolby Atmos alone is enough for me to not want the chromecast.

Funny. I see the Apple logo and run lol. I love to be able to do what I want with a device I paid for and you can only do that with Google Android. I can load any app form any place I want and just use it. Also I can do 4K console gaming via Google stadia and it runs flawless on any of the Google TV devices including my just as fast as Apple TV Nvidia Shield. And as far as the Google TV goes I have never seen what you are talking about in Plex. It's been super smooth and I have over 10 terabytes of content. Also anything that is compatible with Google home devices which is pretty much everything works on Google TV through Google Assistant. All I say is what camera or device I want to see or use and boom it loads. No hub needed for anything. It's connected though the cloud. Works for everything I have which includes Logitech cameras, blink cameras, simplisafe home security, wemo and my Samsung refrigerator.

You are forgetting things like fitness +, where you Apple Watch can connect to the Apple TV. Or with tvOS 15, you can also listen to spatial audio.

Bought Apple TV 4k, returning it in a day. RU-vid "Skip ad" is not appearing and it doesn't worth for it's price. Happy with Chromecast 4k.

Low to ordinary review. google chromecast tv lags like a heck. have been using for about a year now. android laggy crap as always. also you haven't talked about the picture/video quality. dear google, you make many gadgets but none is outstanding. apple, you are expensive but you deliver more than its cost.
