Short answer; trash Range is 40-60 feet in an empty space, and only 20-30 feet if there is a normal house wall between you and tag. iPhone 11 Pro Max

"are they worth it?" Theyre the same price as tiles, have a much much bigger network than tile, and you dont need a subscription to use that much bigger network. Unless you have an Android theres literally no reason to get any other tracker

The one thing Tile has that’s better is their slim version. It’s the shape of a credit card which is way better for putting in your wallet than the airtag(which will make a bulge). Especially if you have one of those card wallets. Really hope apple releases a slim version too

Honestly Tile is a really good tracker … for like a month then they just stop working all of a sudden or it just dosent show up even when the tile is right next to you and when you mark an item as lost it just doesn’t tell you when you find it till like 10 minutes later

@@samm6738Well assuming they have iPhone it’s easier to just set them up in find my than buying an AirTag since AirTag relies on other iPhones and an iPhone updates itself every few seconds

It’s not only pleasantly surprising that apple made the batteries easily replaceable but they made them CR2032 so they are very easy to find.👍🏼

New Sub! Best quick description of how this tech works. 5:00 how it works to locate your device using Find My so you can go pick it up yourself! The “mesh network” of iOS devices to track it - that really explains it succinctly! Other videos those folks have no idea what they’re talking about! Thanks again I’m getting a 4-pack soon because of you! I have 3 motorcycles and multiple sets of keys and gear etc. Apple again really thought through the use cases for this!

in case it is lost, are we relying on someone to be kind enough to scan it via NFC? Or will it still use Apple's ecosystem to notify us automatically about its location?

Your review is spot on. I think that we haven't seen the ultimate use of AirTags yet. Somebody, somewhere, is going to figure out a "killer app" for these devices that will end up blowing our minds.

I am looking into a GPS tracker for mainly travel purposes, and if it only has a 30 ft range it won't do any good to track lost luggage on a trip or to even know if your luggage is in the same airport or on the carousel or on another plane so Id have to go with the Tile pro but I am an avid apple user so I hope they step up their game for apple enthusiasts like myself.

Trackers are worth it, I have been using Tile and always helps me find my stuff! I recently got one Air tag to try it out, so let’s see lol I mean it does way more because it’s integrated to the Apple ecosystem which makes locating it that much more accurate

Do they have anything like a geo fence? So if you're in a building and someone is taking your car for example, you get an alert to say your car is leaving the geo fence?

I ordered the 4 pack. Back some time ago I had a tile on my work keys. 30 days later or so I got a message saying keys found at my old work place. It totally found them once reported lost. Tile worked.

I've heard of these being used for moving household goods. They just put them in one of the boxes and you can watch if the movers go directly to the next city or if they're heading somewhere else. Some military families are utilizing this idea.

Doesn’t work like that. You can only use AirTags within a certain range of Bluetooth so one person can not be every in the world.

Did Apple let you buy your unit WITHOUT providing your AppleID? They refused to sell to anyone here, unless we purchased on our AppleID account. Tracking starts the moment you attempt to buy the unit(s)

Great video. Does anyone consider having Tiles and Airtags? I aim to find a way to integrate both. Hopefully, Apple will allow Tile to access their network. Apple is making a jack move. I think making a video on this would be a great subject.

Amazing camera work! What's your camera and lens? I got a 4-pack and the Belkin accessory as well. I think my favorite thing about the AirTags is just peace of mind. I now know that I can always track my keys. Don't have to worry at all.

Got both a Note 20 Ultra and a iPhone 11 pro max. Trying to figure out whether to go with the air tags or Samsung's version. You don't need assessories with Samsung's tags. Good video!

1) Apple would have been seen as greedy had they not provided a removable battery since tile has done so for a while. 2) Apple could have offered a Tag + keychain combo (ala Hermes edition) at a slightly discounted price but greed got the best of them. 3) Tile + Google devices works extremely well together.

The Bluetooth range is awful. 20-30 feet if there is a common house wall and 40-60 feet range in an open space. I was really hoping for at least a 200 foot range to find my Alzheimer dad when he wanders off at Costco. I tried it today. I was looking right at him as he was coming down the isle. Didn’t pick him up until he was 50 feet away. Not impressed

My didnt work it dissconected Wifi and 4G on my phone and safari didn't work. I had problem with the SIM. After one call to the seller and two cals to Apple support, I got the phone working again. I hadn't activated Find my phone and Dataroming. I have a iPhone 7 that has worked well, but after pairing with Airpad it whent bananas. Now it seams to be back on track and the Airtags works fine, but far from a usual Apple experiance 😂

However, Tile is better in one point! 👍 Tile warns you if you leave your house without a wallet or keys. The AirTag cannot do that or not yet.

Kind of how I feel as well but you never know. I haven't bought any myself but might be nice for my wife. She is always misplacing her keys while mine always go on my hook by the door. I honestly wish they had something slim that I could throw in my wallet. I do misplace that way more than I should. I know tile has one but I'd rather Apple make one. Their find my app just seems more polished.

So, wait...if there are no Apple devices around that area, and say your keys are in the woods or park or somewhere on a remote trail and there are no other apple products there. Are you telling me that I can't locate my air tagged keys until there is another Apple product near it? Or I come within Bluetooth range by sheer accident, since I can't see it? I'm confused... Im a noob, but I thought you could always see the lost device. But you said there needs to be either other apple devices around it, or be within Bluetooth range. That makes it less appealing to me, why cant it be tracked regardless of other apple devices?

Just enabled one. I am very disappointed in the effective range/distance. Unless I am within 10 feet there is no directional arrow/locating in Findmy App. I get a message “Connected. Signal is weak. Try playing a sound”. I tested Bluetooth rang with earbuds and I can go around 40 feet, outside my house before the signal stops. I am running the prerequisite IOS release. What is the effective range/distance supposed to be ?

Here we go - the Apple haters …. There are tons of Trackers on the market , Apple did not say they invented them or anything . But in pure Apple fashion they look good and work. Don’t even compare with the cheap Samsung tags . Anyways if you are not in the Apple eco system buy a Tile .

Sure they do. I live in Dubai and I bought these to track my vehicles in Brazil. They update the location every 10 minutes or so…

There are couple of places in a car where you can hide tiny objects that would be hard for anyone to find even if they know its in there somewhere. Up to you to find a good spot in your car.

Apple Airtag is a one trick pony, here is why: 1. iPhone can ring the Airtag, but the Airtag cannot ring your misplaced iPhone. Continue looking for it. 2. Connect an Airtag to something you must purchase a fob, these can cost as much and more than the Airtag itself. 3. Ring tone on the Airtag is much lower than all the other trackers. 4. The range of the Airtag is shorter than other trackers. Many RU-vid videos demonstrating distance. The good about the Airtag it does use Find My, and it has the Apple logo.

I still think tile is better. TILE tells my phone if I left my keys or my wallet. Also the tile has a button that if you lose your phone you can just press it and the phone will make a Noise. Air tags don’t do that. I got both but I think airtags is complete garbage.
