Just when I was looking for a RU-vid video explaining the Apple Card in detail, you uploaded this video a few minutes before I started searching. 🤣 I just got my physical Apple Card a couple of months ago, and I’ve been paying off my AirPods Pro through an installment plan since November and this video really helped put things into perspective and cleared things up for me as to how it works exactly. Plus, you convinced me to stop forgetting and start using my Apple Card for daily purchases so I can rack up those cash back rewards so...thanks for that lol! Great video as always!

@@dangelo2979 the route worked for me! I went from discover to amex making 16K then in the same month I applied to apple I put 22k and I got accepted. Credit Score is 778 on fico discover and 756 on amex fico.
@Gotay I could be wrong here, but this might not be the best option for your first credit card as it’s average acceptance is for those with higher credit scores. Do some searches on being an AUTHORIZED USER-on say maybe your parents credit card. This will basically extend an olive branch to you off their established credit history for that card. On time payment history and age of that credit card heavily influence the results. P.S. Just realizing I’m a year late to this party lol.
Hello! If I used the Apple Card to purchase an iMac, would I be able to pay more than the minimum monthly payment upfront and pay any extra amount throughout my financing period? I think I read something about paying the entirely of the card if you wanted to pay extra.
You can even pay off your balance if you want. Be weary of your credit utilization though, if you don’t want your credit being affected with the installment plans. Make sure you have over a 5k credit limit if you’re taking out an iPhone.
Thanks for the video, dude! Has it shown up on your credit reports since you have gotten it? I want the card but I'm hesitant because I have heard they report to the main credit bureaus inconsistently, which wouldn't work for me because my main objective is to build credit. I applied for the apple card and got approved but I have not accepted/declined the offer yet.

im not old enough to have a apple card or a credit / debit card in general, but some people that replied to other comments asking the same thing saying to try some other cards like discovery 1 before using an apple card just to get a little decision. but of course that’s totally up to you
It’s a credit card, meaning that whenever you spend money using the card you are “borrowing” that money directly from the bank. Then, at the end of every month, you pay that money back. You can only put a direct deposit on a debit card because when you use a debit card to spend, you are borrowing directly from yourself, aka your personal bank account. Debit and credit are very different.
If the Apple Card gave you 1.5% back on all non-specific categories...similar to the Capital One Quicksilver or Amex Cash Magnet, I would use it as my daily driver!
I had a question if the Apple Card told me my limit is $2000 and I purchase a laptop which is $1600 and I pay my installments every month on time will my credit go down?
Oh wow. No that’s terrible. I wouldnt even get the card. Honestly I wouldn’t even get any credit card until you understand how money works. Especially credit cards. The Apple Card actually teaches you to spend more money. Apple wants you to use the card more. They get you by telling you all the “money back” you’ll be getting.
Since it is a credit card I would say no. Credit card don't "hold" money. Their purpose is kinda of letting you borrow money upfront and let you pay that at a later time :)
So I want to buy the I pad pro worth $1,800 in installments for $130 but the limit is 1,500 on the card it says I can pay the $200 difference I can do that but if I do that will it max the card out and I just pay monthly or will it just charge me the monthly payment and not the full amount?
It deducts the total amount of the installment from your credit limit but only requires you to pay the set monthly amount. I was going to use my card to finance a MacBook until I figured out that’s how it would work and would look bad on my credit utilization. In my situation I will either wait until I get a credit limit increase on this card or if you had enough money upfront you could do the installment but then immediately pay off a chunk of the installment (assuming you’ve already paid off your current balance) to free up some of your credit limit and then just make the remaining monthly payments from there.
Apple card is garbage. My trade-in credit was delayed by four weeks until I complained, then the trade-in credit was reduced by 6% for "promotional daily cash adjustment -3% and daily cash adjustment -3%" - now I'm wasting more time disputing these charges. Don't get this card.
