Thanks man. It's been working great for me so far. The only issue I've had is that it's disconnected from my phone a few times but I don't know if it's the device itself or my phone.
I just got the 5" to go on my KLR. I'm liking it pretty good so far. I haven't got to go out and try it out yet, but I'm getting ready too. Love watching your videos brother. Keep up the good work.

Me too. It would support it but DMD2 haven't set their app up for Carplay/android auto. My guess is they never will because they sell their own tablets.
Good video, yeah the zumo is a waste bro, you can't see anything in direct sunlight, which is why I'm watching these videos trying to find something else, and I've got an android also, so Android auto would be awesome, as long as you can see it in direct sunlight. Thanks for the honesty
Thanks. I've had pretty good luck with this device. My phone has disconnected from it a couple of times but I think it's because I don't update my apps as often as I should. I have absolutely no problem seeing it in direct sunlight because it is super bright. I'll be testing it more off road soon so hopefully it keeps performing well. Thanks for reviewing this. When you’re navigating on Google Maps or GAIA, can you see speed and distance information displayed on the screen? I have a project bike and if this is present on screen it means I can get rid of my speedometer and tachometer and replace it with this. Thanks!
Thanks. It will but if your headset is connected to your phone and the Carpuride it doesn't work properly. I need to do an update review on it since I've had a lot more time testing it now.
I don’t see the point of this at all since you could just get a phone mount, but I am annoyed that bikes don’t have apple or android auto\play built into the dashes yet. I have a 2020 bmw F750GS with that huge TFT and it makes 0 sense as to why it doesn’t have that capability and still doesn’t with the 2024 models. Royal Enfield seems to be the only make with a sudo CarPlay ability in its tiny TFT.
It's easier to see than a phone is. Which makes a big difference when you're following off road tracks. I ride a bike with almost zero electronics so the tft Display is something I don't have much use for on a adv motorcycle
@@TheBeardedGrump Depends on the phone. Carpuride car play products are measured at 1000 nits, the leading smartphones right now like the iPhone 14 Pro Max and Samsung s22 Ultra are both brighter and have higher resolution.
@@DropoutJerome I was mainly talking how big the Carpuride is. I would also rather take the chance with a $200 Carpuride vs a $1000+ phone getting damaged too

that is funny, they sent me one to review too - sadly the thing was broken? The screen was flipped like a mirror, and they could not figure out how to correct it. After 3 days sending video and pics of the unit in "action", I finally gave up working with their "tech support", and said "send me another one or forget it!" I have since opened it up and correctly connected the monitor tape. Works good now but I would never recommend it? Hope you get some miles out of yours?
Mine has been working great in the last 800 miles. Will it hold up long term? Who knows. I think a lot of stuff is hot or miss these days. Quality control has gone out the window with most companies.
@@TheBeardedGrump FYI, check those screws on the back and lock-tite the one going into the ball mount, almost lost the unit yesterday as the screw backed out.
Bearded grump, can you blue tooth a packtalk to the phone and Bluetooth the carpuride at the same time?basically utilize and use both at the same time?
Can you let us know what other apps can run or is it only the main applications? I was wondering if you could run Rally Blitz or Rally Navigator. I highly doubt but maybe you could give it a shot and confirm. Thanks for the content!!
Does anyone know if you can read the screen with polarized sunglasses? I read a review that said the screen appears black if your sunglasses are polarized.
I got one and can get it to reconnect after shutting off the bike. I have to pair everything all over again. Total pain in the butt compared to the BMW cradle.
@@TheBeardedGrump That's alright. I did get a 2/3s refund from them for the trouble. I updated it to the latest firmware oner the weekend but it just won't reconnect after I stop the bike. Might be a bad unit.
Love the display but it doesn't work with Cardo PackTalk. Connect Cardo to the Carpuride and the Cardo buttons don't work or connect Cardo to Phone and the buttons work but no audo comes out the Cardo. 😞 (Same results with Sena S20)
If I'm correct you have to delete the bluetooth connection from your phone to your packtalk. Connect your phone to the Carpuride, then let the carpuride connect to your packtalk
