@@ot2nie Just bought a 2018 Cooper too, it has the same screen like yours but except CarPlay and backup camera. So is that so we only need to change the hard disk in there instead of the entire head unit ?

Thanks for the Tutorial. I installed mine the other day. I ended up tucking the large connector under the right AC vent. Has anyone else had an issue where audio for carplay only works when resetting iPhone? It connects just fine, but until I reset my iPhone I'm not receiving audio even though I have aux selected. @@sh4rkt3ch Yes, cars that have infotainment system called as EVO have feature Touchscreen.If U install a MMI unit, there will be no touchscreen however.
Great video… Another video also showed some settings for the screen display width so the time indicated top left in car play screen doesn’t get cut off…. Also does your core still works in mid 2023 ? and for ordering from Germany ?
This was a really good tutorial! I am going to buy one and will use this to help install it. Was there any issue with the box fitting behind the screen? I saw some people say they have to place it above the glove box
Thank you sir! There was no issue, you have to fiddle a bit with the wiring, but you can fit it al back without resistance (took me about 5 minutes to fit everything back!
@@gry-kmo I have a set on my own car which has factory camera and it still works perfectly: shift to reverse and it goes from carplay to camera. Shift back to drive and it goes back to carplay. It’s the same for this set, but you need to check the settings in some cases. You need to sort of ‘allow’ it to communicate with the oem cam or it might not work in some cases. That’s just a matter of scrolling through the options and fortunately not wire hacking😀😀
CarPlay is working great! Did anyone notice any rattling in the dash after installation? Near the glove box (I put my CarPlay unit behind the glove box on top) I’m thinking it might be the unit rattling in there? Not sure. All screws are tight
A few questions regarding the system before I pull the trigger. Our Clubman does have HUD and a rear camera (factory). When it comes to the camera do I need to do extra things besides plug all the things on the unit? Or just plug and play? Because in the docs I have seen there is a cable which indicates rear camera, but it also could be this is for aftermarket purposes.

Yes, old BT connection removed. But my F60 EVO does not have aux. Also, in the bt settings on my phone, the audio cannot be switched on. When I do this, it immediately turns off again.
Found the issue: did not realize I had to connect the 3.5mm jack of the middle module to the usb socket of the car and then select usb as audio source.
If I have a F56 2019 with CarPlay already included, does somebody know if there is an option to only get and update to have the screen retrofit instead of split it? That would be really helpfully, thks
Hi, your video was a great help to install this, thanks. I do have some issues after install though. If you could advice me on what to do, that would be great. So, since the install, no more info on the HUD except for speed and cruise control setting. Time settings in normal "settings" always goes back to --:-- after setting time and date. Also the car's navigation thinks it is 00:00hr when starting nav. Arrival time is always somewhere after midnight.. Two times since install and in Android mode I received a red sportscar in the display so the system reboots.. Why would that be? And finally, the hour on the screen in Android mode doesn't fit, I only see the minutes. The same for battery status of the phone, it sits just outside the screen. My guess would be maybe the toggle switches but since all the rest is working.. I don't know, all tips are welcome. The car is a 2017 Mini Countryman SE All4 F60. Greetings.
Hmm, seems like quite some issues.. Double check your connections is what i’d do and if that doesn’t work, i’d check with the guys at motrade! I’ve never heard of these issues before.
@@ot2nie Thanks for the swift reply. I did mail them, (bought it there) but no answer yet. Also, I see those boxes are black now. I ordered mine a year ago and that is metal colored. I only installed it last weekend. Mind you, all is working in Android mode, so the android stuff except screen size apparently. But normal nav (Phone is not always connected except for longer trips) has issues..
Bedankt voor je video. Ik ben ook van plan om dit in te bouwen. Wel vraag ik me af omdat er geen touchscreen is hoe je dan je navigatie gebruikt. Hoe geef je dan je bestemming in? Dus hoe "typ" je een adres in of coördinaat in? Is er een of ander keyboard aanwezig in de software waar je met je joystick doorheen kan?
Hi, i installed my carplay box the same way for NBT-Evo system. I have a question regarding a sound issue. When the carplay is on i dont have any sound. The only way i managed to have a sound is really strange i connected my phone both with the bluethooth of the mini and the bluethooth of the carplay box, so the music comes from the Mini bluethooth and not the carplay box. This way when i use my carplay i have sound only from the music and dont get any sound from waze ( or google maps etc.) and from telephone calls. How can i fix this issue, to get the sound from the carplay box only?
Does it matter if it is a mini one or cooper? Cause on the website there is only the cooper option. Ive got a one from 2015 with 8 icons, so I should be able to install it right? If it possible I’ll order it with your discount code 😂. (I’m from the Netherlands as well, so that should not be a problem)
I'm going to buy a Mini One that doesn't have navigation. It has a display and all other functions such as telephone or settings, but no navigation. Can I still install CarPlay? Exactly as shown here? Thanks in advance for feedback.

@@austinblansett7556 This was the reply I got from the seller. I set it accordingly and it works great! Initially I was not turning off the car, unplugging and waiting after changing the config. That made the diff. Follow these instructions: If the size of the car screen is 8.8 inch, the toggle swtich should be 123 ON, the rest OFF. When you change the toggle switch, you have to follow the steps below: a. turn off the car b. unplug the can power cable from the decoder box c. lock the car and wait for 5 minutes d. back to the car, change the toggle switch e. plug back the can power cable f. start the car

Hello, what year is this MINI? I just bought a MINI ONE 2019 CHILI from a store which I'll pick up in a couple of days but now I'm not sure if it already has Apple Car Play or not. I live in Rotterdam, would you recommend some shop in which someone could install it for me? I tend to f@ck up even the simplest things so I don't want to take the risk haha
The only thing I know is that mine has a touch screen. I tried to find info on MINI ONE 2019 on RU-vid, but man, pretty much nothing. From your screen navigation I see you are around Den Haag, a shop there would also be ok. Pretty much anywhere in the NL to get this installed. Cheers, man!
