Yum my momma made when we were growing up 70 years ago I had my first apple fritter can still remember the smell, Thank you Marshall for sharing have a blessed evening stay safe and healthy. 🙏❤🙏❤
keep apples from browning w/o using citric acid The best way to prevent browning is to soak the cut fruit in a saltwater solution (half a teaspoon of kosher salt per cup of water) for 10 minutes, then drain and store until ready to use. The mild salt flavor can be rinsed off with tap water before serving. The best part is that even after rinsing, the browning is still just as effectively reduced.
It's good that your Dad has you to make treats + for him. We can tell you spent a lot of time with your sweet mama learning to cook! I am excited to try this. You could also make just apple bites as a finger food at party's. Or like Onion rings you could have Apple rings instead..... yum.
Hi Marshall! I made these today for the 5th time.... We love them and they are so easy to make. I now use a basting brush to glaze them on a rack, turn them over and glaze the other side. I leave them on the rack to dry and after a half hour I turn them over to dry the other side. Another way to serve them that is delicious is to coat them with cinnamon and sugar instead of glaze while they are still warm. Serve them in a bowl with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Yummilicious!!!! Thanks so much for the recipe!
