For those of you wondering about the battery, it is amazing. A few weeks ago, I was using the phone at a state fair. Since I show sheep, I had my show uniform on when I left the fair. I left my iPhone SE running over night, with the screen locked and no applications open. When I returned to it the next morning, I grabbed it and checked the battery settings. The phone was on 75%, and was running for a total of 36 hours.
The Design of Iphone 5S was Awesome, Good to learn that the Apple continued the design for SE too. I am the Proud owner of iphone -5S Feel happy still the design is considered and getting continued.

Well, getting one. Cheap for an iPhone. Good Camera, Small enough to take it out of the pocket without the need for standing. Shrunken mirror UI of iPhone 6S, hardly wasted screen estate; 12hrs wifi + lte browsing. No powerbanks than :P
You absolutely nailed this review. I wish I would have seem this before I bought my iPhone SE because I would have gone out and gotten it sooner! I love this thing! It's exactly what you said it is: fun and to the point. The fact that I can finally use my phone with one hand agains feels... life changing. Dramatic I know but it's really an enjoyable experience. I was thinking the same thing. I have a nexus 6p too but I wanna try a smaller phone... Like a very small phone without sacrificing I performance and battery life. How do you like the battery life?
I think the 5S/SE is the Goldilocks of iPhone design. While the 4/4S felt like a million bucks in the hand because of its weight and size, the glass back was prone to damage and the screen was a tad small. The 6/6S is nice and thin with a bigger screen and has curved edges, but the camera hump and antenna lines are rather ugly. Also, the screen is too big for some. On the flip side, the 5/5S/SE is thin and light, has the perfect screen size for maintaining one handed usability, and still has most of the solid feel that the 4S had with a more durable chamfered aluminum body to back it up.

Jayy Vee A few companies are starting to get it right. LG has been VERY surprising to see how quickly they flipped. The G4 was mediocre. The V10 is fantastic.
Jayy Vee Oooohh... yeah... The S7 Edge should be a nice improvement. The S7 amp is a bit on the quiet side, but I haven't played with the Edge to know if it's louder.

Luke Fin But then again, Note 5 is down to 600euros and is considered to be a flagship. So is G5, so is Nexus6p etc. iPhone SE 64gb costs 599euros. Therefore all these are in the same price range of flagship phones. I think the title is kinda biased. One X could be called a mid-range phone due to its internals but not iPhone SE. This is a flagship shrunk into a smaller form factor (and this should have been the title of the video).
+Ioannis Makridis Well it sounds like the guy reviewing is American, and here in America the iPhone 5SE starts at $399 and the iPhone 6s starts at $649. That is a big 40% decrease, worthy of the distinction.
Nice job on the video... it would make a good phone if you were into running... like how I use my N8 now. In two/three years this will be my new phone for running.
A minor thing for some, but I love that Apple went with a matte-chamfered edge this time around. A polished chamfer can look good, but all it does is pick up scratches way too easily. Samsung seems to have also learned this. Huawei, on the other hand, sure loves a polished chamfered edge.
Still a brilliant device in 2023! I’ve got two with 100% battery health and often find myself reaching for one when I fancy a break from my 14 Pro and it does everything the latest iPhone can do for most people.
Great review! Hope Apple continues to make these smaller phones with the same older rectangular style and flagship internals. I t was awesome then and is still awesome! I hope android companies also give emphasis on smaller phones with flagship internals compared to what's happening now.
You're spot on with how iOS feels much nicer to use on a small display, it wasn't ported very well to the larger phones, it just feels out of place on those devices. If I were to buy an iOS device it would be the SE over the 6S, because I love smaller flagships, I wish they were more common.
+JuanBagnell Only thing I can think of was how the Plus can have the hone screen and most of it's apps in landscape mode, I don't think the regular 6S can do that.
Am I the only one that doesn't really watch movies, play games, and occasionally watches short videos on phones? I much rather watch movies on a TV, with the surround sound on. Play games on a console (PS4, Xbox One) or PC... lol And I mostly play YT videos on my Laptop. :)
In watching it today with ios13 and compared to even the flagships of that day this phone is literally the best! The smoothness and gaming is well beyond the old phones. Apple delivered!!
As an android user (never had any apple product) I'm seriously thinking about the SE, I prefer smaller phones. The only thing that was stopping me from buying an iphone was having to use i-tunes instead of drag and drop to install music, films and tv shows on my android but after downloading software that allows me to completely bypass i-tunes, an SE is a possibility.
I like how you got into the philosophy of the phone. it was a sweet thing when you said this iPhone encourages you to use it less and spend more time with the rest of your day. such a beautiful thing!

Juan, thank you for actually testing an audio sample and looking at crosstalk etc and comparing it to other phones , it is so hard to find websites that do that other than GSMarena. Probably gonna get this phone.
400$ *cross fingers "budget" it's not a budget phone it's a fan service phone for people who likes small screens and it's not fair to compare to 150$ or 200$ phones because this thing has an apple A9 this chip is high end not to mention the RAM management of the iOS.which is by far the best this thing about Apple devises should be called iPhone 6s mini lol .and yeah a 200$ phone can do what this thing can and with a 1080p screen and some compromises here and there. overall it was a solid review love you pocketnow
how hard would it have been for Apple of adapt the 5S body to look more like the 6? keep the same thickness, but ditch the glass bars on the back and round out the edges. easy...and doesn't look like discontent for the buyer.

They won't get Super AMOLED. Samsung will only sell them at best Note 5 quality displays and Apple would probably prefer to use another solution or stick to LCD. Also they need to keep an iPhone under 5" so the difference between the regular and + versions is big enough to warrant even getting the plus. Also if it's waterproof there won't be replacements due to water damage anymore which apple makes money off of.
+Mr. Cheesedoodles I disagree. Rumors have been clamoring about Amoled/Super Amoled for the last 6-8 months... Also the 6S is virtually waterproof now, just lacking coating to seal the deal. But the ports are all better protected than any previous iPhones and there is a rubber gasket built in to seal off most of the components. So why not just go all the way?
MEGaming They won't do it because water damage is one of most common reasons for iPhone replacements and upgrades. They need that money. And I didn't mean that apple won't use AMOLED, they just won't use SUPER AMOLED which is samsung's marketing term for the amoled in their most recent flagship. Samsung doesn't sell their current flagship's screen so that they can have the best screen in the business. The best the iPhone 7 will have if they go for a samsung AMOLED is Note 5 quality rather than S7 quality.

Do you recommend a protective/anti slip cover for the unit? Or is it fairly secure in hand without such covers? Be a shame to hide its ergonomics behind a cover. Thank you for the advise.
I think the iPhone SE, 6s, and 6s+ are all Apple flagships. It just comes down to size of the phone as the main difference, because the other trade offs aren't major. Like Sony with the Z5 Premium, Z5, and Z5 Compact.
The 5S was my favorite designed iPhone aswell. I would have liked the iPhone 6/plus to have retained the looks of the 5S and just gotten bigger displays.
The IPhone SE is really neat! Being a Mini version of the 6S while having the same specs as the latter. Really good option for people who want a smaller screen size but not lesser specs.Wish more companies would do this!
+Hunter Miller true Sony is the only one but Sony does cut the phone down a lot. If you look at the specs of the compact line vs the Sony flagship which the compact is supposed to be based on there's a big difference. As appose to the iPhone SE vs the 6s they are nearly identical spec wise.
marcieevee Well not really the z5 and z5 compact are basically the same. Expect the compact has 2gb of RAM and the regular one has 3 and obviously the screen is a downgrade but everything else is the same

Thank you for the great review ! i have used numerous mobile phones over the years. ranging from the iphone 5c, to the samsung s5, and the sony z5. the samsungs are also really nice but feel really cheaply made in a way . i currently use the sony z5 and have tromendous issues with my unit ( loss of LTE, loss of connectivity, loss of battery life, a high res. but insanely slow camera focus - and sony wont even take a look at my unit . so i looked up the iphone SE, and all the things you said and proved are all to my liking ! i have just ordered the unit ! thank you so much ! greetings from germany =)
This phone dose not crush only the other "midrange" Android phones, it dose destroy Apple's own IPod touch too. With the great headphone jack on this IPhone there is no point of buying an IPod anymore.. Truly Amazing!
No mid-ranged phone can touch the SEs performance and to be honest it probably performs faster than the 6S cause of less things to push with the same power; no 3D touch, no MiMo, no huge screen, get it? but same power.

Getting apps in the sharing menu doesn't require a software upgrade anymore. After the addition of extensibility from ios8 the option now rests in the hands of the app developers.
Hey Juan, my daily driver is an s6 but when I use an se I can't manually change video quality on youtube it seems like they're stuck in 144p . any way to change that?
