store bought apples are coated with a waxy substance that is full of chemicals to keep away bugs. I wouldn't want to eat the skin or use them to make this candy.
Seriously, I'm American, fat and love sweets... and that was way too much sugar for me unless I'm trying to make rock candy (which I haven't since we learned how in high school... which was about 30 yrs ago). How much is 350g? 2 or 3 cups?
You can find agar at an Asian food store or a health store. If you can't find any agar then you could use gelatin but the texture won't be the same. Good luck!
Beautiful video!!! I love how you just focus on the cooking and there is no talking or music, just the cooking :-) very beautiful light and clear angles, too. A++
I've watched several different videos of the kohakutou making process and I still can't get over how cute and pretty these candies are. I want like a thousand of them.
This recipe looks delicious and I love that you used agar. I'm definitely going to try making this recipe but I'll use my little silicone molds instead of cutting out the shape. I have a butterfly mold and a flower mold which are so pretty! 🌷🦋
Your recipes are so beautiful that I feel like moving to Japan just to see them.... I had no idea about these sweet treats..they're just lovely, and make for such a wonderful gift too! Loving your videos, especially the ASMR..so relaxing! Lots of love from India!
These look really good and cute as well! I wonder how they would taste with raspberries and blueberries. I just might experiment to find out. I do have a question. How long is their storage life? I assume not long due to the sugar.
