Mac mini with M1 Pro & M1 Max might be released by Apple in 2022. Mac mini has always been the best way to get into Apple Mac ecosystem with its bare-bone form factor.
The new Mac mini is expected to include the same M1 Pro and Pro Max chip options made available in the MacBook Pro, with a 10-core CPU and 16 and 32-core GPU options. The new Mac mini will be equipped with more ports, featuring four Thunderbolt ports rather than the two that are available on the current Mac mini.
With the current market where CPUs and GPUs are not easily available at MSRP, Mac mini with M1 Pro & M1 Max will provide great value for creators and non-gaming users.

Hi Animesh, now that it is released, you are right. It it priced at the higher end. But when I am comparing the cost of Mac Studio with Max Chip in it with a creator PC, I think it is very decently priced and offers great value. Especially in a market that is still recovering from inflated GPU pricing.

Indeed AR, that is the thumb rule. If what you have gets the job done, then don't be tempted to upgrade and spend more.

Thank you, this was a very nice general update on possible mac mini model improvements. As far as myself, I waited in the year 2020 and then in the year 2021, for Apple to start selling a more powerful mac mini. I have now given up and will be buying an old used 2014, trash can size 6-core D700 Mac Pro. Which, I will pair with my current Apple 27-inch Cinema (none thunderbolt) display, Apple white wireless mechanical keyboard, Apple white wireless mighty mouse, and Apple wireless track pad. Being a none power user, this low level system will be able to meet all my needs for the next several years (smile...smile).

Hey, i understand the conflicting thoughts you may have with apple delaying the pro mini. But I will recommend not to buy the trash can, but at least wait for the March event and then decide. The thing is Apple will put all their energy in improving the M chips ecosystem, and Mac Pro trash can with Intel chip will wither away sooner than what you may think with no support.

@@TechTakeaway Thank you, for replying to my post. Both your comments and reasoning are very sound. While, I almost never buy new desktop systems from Apple, I would have if, they had released a "mac mini pro" model in 2021, in the same form factor (but perhaps in a "space gray" color) as the current models. However, at this point they lost my money. Now, I will be waiting until they also release an Apple branded 28-inch, 30-inch, or 32-inch matching monitor for the mac mini, with a price tag well below $5,000. Therefore, in a few years the 2014, trash can size Mac Pro will, just become a part of my growing Apple desktop collection (smile...smile).
