After 250 days with the MacBook Pro with M3 Pro chip, here’s my review and why I think this laptop is aging too well. The M3 Pro could currently be the sweet spot between performance and price for MacBooks and I think it’s a great pick if you’re looking for a laptop that’ll serve you well for the next 5+ years!

I've had my M3 Pro MBP 14" with 18GB RAM and 512GB since May 13th of this year. It's my first Mac ever and I'm HIGHLY impressed. Gaming is still a bit of a soft spot in it, but for everyday use I'm just blown away.

@@amhowaye1605 My last laptop was a Dell Alienware M17X that was by then going on its's 6th year. While the build quality was okay, the MBP blows it away with build quality, screen quality, keyboard feel, trackpad, and most importantly battery life. I can go all day plus with my MBP, but with the Alienware I was just knocking around online and had to reach for the power cable after almost two hours. Considering that sometimes I'm far away from a power supply that's a big change and a welcome one. I realize the new Snapdragon laptops should offer comparable performance, but the MBP does everything I need it to do other than heavy duty gaming, which is now the sole province of my other Windows gaming laptop. My only regret with the MBP is that I didn't splurge for the 1TB, 512 is pretty restrictive and I miss being able to put in more SSD space (The gaming laptop has two 2TB SSD's in it!).

@@leeroyjenkins867 So one of the first games I put on was Baldur's Gate 3. Looks really well, very comparable to my Windows machine with a 4060/8GB card in it. What I really like about it is that it ran the game at the same speed as to when the machine was plugged into power. All of my Windows machines while running off of battery it won't allocate all normal resources to games, and as such performance struggles. Not so with the MBP. That's the major difference that I've seen. That being said, getting Windows games to run on Mac still can be hit or miss, although with the new GPTK2 that should increase that.

@@leeroyjenkins867 Its playable, above 60fps most of the time. Tho I usually keep mine at 150+ on a windows PC, 60-90 is reasonable for me on a Macbook (even on battery which is super impressive). When in town fps drops to 40ish from time to time, but if you are willing to tweak some settings down, you can maintain 60fps no prob. If BG3 is your only concerns in terms of gaming, then it shouldn't hold you back, go straight ahead and buy it

I literally just bought one of these two weeks ago after having one too many issues with my 2020 Intel MacBook Pro, and WOW!!! That battery life! No fan noise every time I do something. The speed! It's been an awesome upgrade. Plus, the design is so nice. I'm breaking out of my routine and not even going to put it in a case lol.

Hi Andrew! Awesome review. I have the M2Pro 14" it's 370 days old now and wow, it's absolutely perfection. Insane display, beautiful 6 speaker system - voices sound as though they are coming from the display :) and 2 day battery life. It's perfect. Best Mac Apple have ever released. I can't fault it in any way and I've been using Macs since 1995! It's insanely perfect!

I think the biggest factor in favor of the M3 Pro MacBook is that you're virtually guaranted to get a few extra years of OS updates and general longevity out of the device. Considering who usually buys these, having a few more years of not feeling like your device is outdated is worth the price premium and versus the M3 Max, the Pro is absolutely the sweet spot and I don't know how the M4 will drastically improve on this?

Per your shout out request "Sequoia!" LOL. Great video review of the M3 Pro. Bought a 14in 1TB today and this is my fav MBP to date! It's my 3rd or 4th MBP, I'm upgrading from a 13 inch 2017 MBP that did well considering it's limited specs by today's standards. M3 Pro is a beast!

I agree, i have M3 Pro 18core 36gb ram with 1tb SSD 14inch and I love it. Bought it certified refurbished from Apple to save money but it had 1 stuck Pixels so I have to return it vs pay $90 for a new screen after buying apple care for $99…I bought the M3 Max because that’s the cheapest and closest model to mine for about $400 more. I get my refund back for apple care so overall I’m happy but damn. I just wanted my original model the Max feels like it’s too much

@@usercrpc0012 Chose the maxed m3 max, so highest chip. But only the base 48 gb ram, and 1tb internal. I would suggest to take 64gb. Sometimes with massive projects i struggle with the 48gb

Hello! Great video! Please help me decide between m1 max 64gb ram 1tb, or this m3 pro 11core 18gb ram, 1tb; both 14 inch, I can get them for the same price on ebay. I can't make a decision, the max chip and 64 gb ram is very tempting but i dont get the space black and i feel the m1 is gonna get outdated soon, but not sure. 😅

i have the exact same model and specs, and color !!! I love it, and yeah I really look forward to using apple intelligence on it. Just installed Aldente. Thx so much for that. I wish Apple would do the same on the Macbooks as what you can do with the iPhone 15 charging. 95% charge is so great.

A few times i fell asleep with the base m3 14 inch 4P/4E cores playing youtube videos & ill wake up with like 72% and thats 1440p videos playing all night while im snoozing. Battery life is astronomical.

I have a m1 macbook air and it still feels just like new after 3 years, I just upgraded to the m3 pro because I needed more ram for my work usage, but my wife will inherit my m1 air and I'm sure it will still last her a few more years just fine.

My 3.5-year-old MB Pro 13 M1 is as fast and smooth as it was on day one, probably better. The battery life is better than all rivals. Amazing M1 chip.

I have the M3 Pro 14" 18GB RAM and 512 GB. Is anyone having issues video editing on Final Cut Pro?? I am not even editing 4k videos and the software freezes CONSTANTLY. I can't even edit seamlessly because it is always "rendering" even tho I have turned that off.

I am about to press buy on the same model and specs and searched youtube as I am undecided if I should go with windows laptop or mac. I edit 6K BRAW mostly and also do 3D on my Epyc Workstation custom built with RTX 3090. I have a project that I am going to need to finish while traveling so I need something now. I really wanted to wait for M4 and then buy but I can get m3 pro with your same setup new without VAT for 2160 EUR now on sale. Undecided what to do!!!! I use Resolve/Fusion.

@@jigyansunanda I got a silver one for the exact same reason. I had a M1 Air too in space grey and it showed scratches and scuffs really easily. Silver looks much cleaner and I've heard it from a lot of people that it holds up pretty well too. I would recommend going with Silver.

I do not like the typing sound of the new magic keyboards on macbooks. It is extremely uneven and indicative of reduced key stability - almost as if some keys are broken. Everything else about this laptop is immaculate.

The only reason I bought the 14” M3 Pro 18/512 is because it was on sale brand new for $1,699. Otherwise, I would have gone for the 15” Air 16/512 for $1,450 on sale brand new.

What's up with people nitpicking the word "aged" lol? It doesn't need to be ancient to be aged. Something can age a day and it's aged a day. In this case the MB has aged well after almost a year. Kids really be complaining about anything these days

Typically when you say something is aging well, it implies that it has been a long enough time where you'd expect issues. Less than one year is not that. Imo, less than one year would not qualify as "long term" for a computer.

If someone doesn't have an M1 Pro to M2 Pro and works in certain MacBook heaven careers, it is great and worth the cost. Sequoia. MacBook heaven careers: - Professional photographers and graphic designers. This includes event photography and wedding photography. - Professional video editors, especially those working for news organizations. - DJs and sound engineers. - Front-end website developers. - Java backend website developers. - ML engineers using Python and AWS. - AWS cloud architects.
