I've been using this leather strap for a year. Apple don't sell leather straps anymore, so this review is more about how easy it is to use, if it's secure and if I'd recommend it. Oh yeah and it does make a fun fidget toy if you want 😄
Did yours start to smell after using it for some time? I have the same one and after using it for a while it started getting an odor. Not sure how to clean the strap with it being leather
No mine still has a neutral smell. I don't wear mine at night, so it's not on my wrist 24 hours a day. If you want to clean it, I would make a cloth damp with some soapy water, clean it with the cloth and dry it properly before putting back on. Just don't soak it in the water, otherwise you may damage the leather.
This is not the worst watch band ever, as I do like how the magnetic clasps and how easy it is to use -- I like it. But my God, this thing can loosen and fall off without a hint of a tactile trace that alerts you to its vanishing. I live on a sailboat, and I can see this watch could just be gone. If you who are reading this have any sense of an active life, I do not recommend this magnetic band. Period. Sorry, but you will lose your watch. Eventually. It is a two-step process: First, it will loosen a few ribbings, secondly, the next time the end catches (and it will as it is now loose), it will be gone. I have worn this for nearly 6 weeks now -- it has happened multiple times. You will see.
