So disappointing that Apple appear to be “scared” to acknowledge their shortcomings, I think that prevents them from getting better. The lack of competition is actually disadvantageous, because you can tangibly feel the lack of effort they’re putting in to the practicality of their products. Other phones might be boring, but they’re becoming more practical. Switching over would suck, but with this drag in improvement? Who’s to say.

I don't know if they are scared. I think folks just want a different answer than the one provided. Seems to me that they get better every year. Folks that don't like what Apple is doing, should buy another product or build the product themselves. They will see how hard it is to make products and services for over a billion people while trying to stay within the material, privacy, support and functionality realms. It's impossible to please everyone while staying true to your foundation.

I agree with part of what Craig was coming to say so for the question of Hybrid system of work culture. I really think both has it's own ups and downs, and to harness both we need a semi strict work scenario where you can spend some quality time with your beloved family and kids & also come to the office and don't leave its setup which is the best build for any work that needs plenty of resources that might not be available in everyone's house. So that's it. *Hybrid forever*. Get things done at home as well as at your work, until you work for any company and have a family to take care of!

Especially for photographers or videographers. Apple should have at least switched the Pro line to USB C like the iPad Pro. Lightning WAS fantastic back in the day, but USB-C has much more potential especially for transfer speeds. And as the iPhone improves in photography and videography it’ll get harder and harder to transfer those huge files. The average user won’t care but for Prosumers they’re going to hit a bottleneck (some already have especially vloggers ).

She's an excellent interviewer, I love her. Craig has got the charisma and the flexibility of mind that Jobs had (maybe even MORE flexibility), but I can't know for sure. I appreciate how Craig always had the disposition of answering these very interesting questions in a smart way, or at least you could notice he was thinking of something. I think he shows a bit more humbleness or as I said flexibility. What bothered me here ( and I imagine many of you as well), is Joz's lack of humbleness. He comes as such an arrogant guy. He knows USB - C is better than lighting in so many ways for customers but he praises this port as the revolutionary thing of technological existence, when in reality, like all technologies, it had its revolutionary time, but it has passed. Joz is arrogant, that is for sure. I am not saying he does a bad job ( in fact I think he's very VERY good at what he does), but sometimes that comes in the sacrifice of other more humane behaviours that companies perhaps should adopt. Careful with Joz becoming even more important than he already is. Perhaps Craig is the better option for Apple's next CEO. Until then, thank you European Union. I think many of us will appreciate what you're doing (some others won't, but that's ok). We're all free

Everyone thinks EU is helping but they are doing it the wrong way. USB C has a limited shelf life and forcing USB C is stifling innovation. Instead they should have mandated that ports meet certain specs like charging speed, data transfer rates, etc and let engineers come up with a solution. Physically and from an engineering standpoint the Lightning plug is actually more elegant. Imagine all of the innovation lost by locking into USB C.

Being on a stage and starting with the (perfectly valid) USB-C question meant they were on the defensive throughout and didn’t open up at all. This is why the podcast format is so much better than the stage panel format.

Yeah, no, Apple. I do have existing Lightning cables but I also have - more - existing USB-C cables. Because almost all my other devices use that port. So the charging infrastructure is here already. But if I want to go out, I need a Lightning cable to charge my phone from my power bank, and a USB-C cable to perhaps charge my earbuds, or that power bank, or my laptop. Besides, Lightning is slow for data transfer as it only supports USB 2. Not that USB-C is faster per se, but it can at least support USB 3 and 4. As you well know from your iPads. Lightning is not “a great connector” simply because people already have the cables. You should have switched to USB-C already. But, you know, better late and coerced than never.

Some tough questions could be: - USB 2.0 was released in 2000, USB 3.0 was released in 2008. The Lightning connector was released in 2012. Why does the large majority of Lightning devices (except iPad Pro), only supports only USB 2.0 but not USB 3.0 speeds? - If Lightning is a superior connector, why were Lightning ports not extended to the Mac, to allow Lightning-based accessories to be used on Mac computers? Why did iPads switch from Lightning to USB-C? - The decision was made to open up Facetime access partially, by allowing non-Apple platform users to join calls. Why is this decision not extended to iMessage? Does Apple see Zoom/Skype/Teams/Hangouts as a bigger competitor than WhatsApp/Telegram/Viber/Signal? - If Apple values security for all users, why does it choose to stick to SMS, rather than support both SMS/RCS? SMS is 30-year-old spec that has been proven to be insecure, unencrypted, and prone to Sender ID spoofing by scammers.

I think if Apple wasn't as big as they are, and didn't have the world's eye on everything they do and say, they could probably make public announcements about their future plans. Most people probably wouldn't care. But they are the most profitable company out there. They have more assets than many smaller countries combined, so they have to maintain some discretion and decorum about what they want to do for the future. Even the slightest hint about future plans coming from Apple, especially if they're speculative, can turn very quickly into a media monster with tech, financial and corporate influencers making crazy predictions and outcomes about things that may not even pan out. There's an entire industry out there dedicated to predicting what Apple may or may not do. That's more than enough. And the question about Apple creating new privacy features (or anything else) just so they can sell more iPhones is kind of a cheap shot in my opinion. Every company who manufactures products and services wants to sell them - the more the better. Apple is no different. The biggest difference here is that other manufacturers, in general, want to create products and put it out to the public as fast as possible. While there's nothing wrong with that, that isn't how Apple works. They will put something out when they feel it's ready and will give the consumer the best experience possible. Is that model perfect? Of course not, but don't think that Apple is only doing things to sell more products. This production model works for them and the results are obvious. $$$$

Some might argue a private company shouldn't have more money than some countries and populations shouldn't rely to heavily on decisions they make regarding their metal and glass slab

This is the most insane compilation of ramblings I've ever read. What, why, when, where, and why? I have all the questions. "Most prosperous" since when? In what specific category? Military and economics change annually if not with the wind so neither of those. Education- *fart noise*. Class division? Yeah buddy we're #1 yee haw 🤠 pa-chew pa-chew 🔫

It's so absurd, they answered the questions they wanted to really well but otherwise it was just laughed off. Why Apple?????

They are not used to this type of interview. Usually, they are interviewed by people who do nothing else than compliment their company.

You think they’re just gonna openly talk about stuff like their future products? Asking about them itself is quite disrespectful.

The Arrogance of Joswiak reminds me of Nokia. How they thought they were invincible and exciting with boring incremental innovations virtually imitating android and presenting as either new or better. The market will shift soon with a new alternative.

I give her props for asking about the ads position apple has taken. Speed questions segment fell flat but this question about ads was well placed.

I always find these things interesting anyways. A lot of their stuff just works. And if you want to use the great device accept the companies ways of things. If it’s an issue don’t get it. That easy, hundreds of companies in the world, so find the one that caters to your opinions.

Good interview with lots of important questions asked. I felt it was a little confrontational at times-not sure if this was because of the first question putting people on edge, or if they just aren’t great communicators overall.
