@WyseGuide Hello, I planted some acorn squash seeds but a couple of plants grew something that looks like the pumpkin shape behind you, but mine are shaped more like a tear drop, same color and has those warts/ bumps, sure was surprising finding them🥴. I tried a bit to look it up & I've seen pictures but couldn't find specific info on it, I've assumed it's a gourd. Would you please tell me the name of it and is it edible? Looking forward to trying these bars😋
@@karenhasel9908 Definitely not Kuri or buttercup, I do love them both though😉Theres still a couple I left outside on a plant, they grew bigger and more round, they look just like the one on his counter, I think it's a gourd but I haven't found the name and I didn't cook any of them. Thanks for the response.
I learned a trick for combining butter with dry flour mix. Freeze the butter for 1-2 hrs . . then use the large hole grater . . and it's easier to mix into the dry mix. I am a bit leery of using whole slices and might try coarse chopping my apples for this recipe. Can't wait to try it.
I tried it and would second your idea on chopping the apples. Also I think the bottom crust got a little too done and it was kind of hard at first but the next day(s) it got softer. Enjoy! Fun recipe, I will definitely be making it again. 😋
That looks amazing! I literally just closed on my 2 berm/2bath down sized retirement house and found out from the previous owners that one of the trees in the yard is a golden delicious and it’s just got fruit ready! Picking apples tomorrow morning so excited!
I'm almost speechless 😮 It really is easier than going all out with a full blown pie. Honestly i wasn't so sure it would turn out this good It's absolutely beautiful. Plus its not as thick a deep dish. To me it's more like of a rectangle tart & prefect.. I'll definitely be making more of these during this holiday season. So Thank you darlin' for sharing this with all of us you're fans...❤
Second comment from me. I already said how yummy this looks and the thought of not having to peel the apples really hit home! I’d like to give a shot out to whoever is behind the camera. Whoever it is does a fantasy job!! Maybe sometime you could highlight that person so others could give him/her a thumbs up.
I would grate some ginger root into the apples and also maybe try switching apple for pear sometime. I used to make a pear ginger pie that was killer. Wonderful combination of flavors.
I can’t wait to try this. I love anything apples. This is a good one for the kiddos to get involved with. Another great one for my recipe book. I can’t wait til you do a recipe book. Have a fantastic day.
Made this recipe substituted flour with oat flour and corn starch to be gluten free and it was delicious!!!! ❤ Everyone I shared this with loved it as well!
I was wondering if there was an easy way to do this gluten-free. What are the amounts you used? Did you put the cornstarch in the crust and the streusel topping?
I was introduced to a lovely spice mix while doing some bread making and also making mincemeat for the holidays. Folks in the UK call it British Mixed Spice Blend. It has the following ground spices. Cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, mace, ginger, cloves, and coriander. When a recipe calls for cinnamon, I will also add a couple of teaspoons of the British Mixed Spice Blend. It just warms up the flavors and baths you in Fall. Great recipe. We are big apple crisp fans. I am sure our family will love this. Thanks for sharing.
You are using the best potholder. Those handmade, often by children, work so good. Plus you can often feel the love and care each one was made with each time you touch it. Right?
As I’m watching this video, I am baking the ultimate chocolate chip cookies… simply amazing. Can’t wait to try these apple bars next. Kaleb, all of your recipes are the bomb!! ❤🍁🍏
I just discovered your channel. I copied this right away. At times,I may half the recipe for a 8x8 pan…for just the two of us. This will be good to take to a gathering, not having to worry about keeping it hot or cold! Thank you! Now I need to check out your other recipes.
I’m so happy you posted this. I love apple pie jelly like filling, applie pie crust with butter toffee crunch or even apple crumble topping but I do NOT eat the chunky apples. It’s a sensory thing and it grosses me out. Plus, I don’t like the chunk of the pie so this is perfect. I love how small it is and like a small bakery treat! I’m probably going to make this but maybe chop the apples up super small ❤️
Just came across your video, looks delicious and I love anything apple. I did find your pumpkin roll recipe last year so now I have subscribed, not going to miss anymore recipes.
Thank you so much! I have been wanting to make something for the guys who have been working in our house and this is it! I can’t wait to make it for them. 👏
This was my intro video to your channel. I enjoyed the easy going vibe you have and the great recipe I'll surely be trying out this week. You got a new subscriber in me. Cheers!
Thank you for the reipes. I'm always looking for new recipe ideas. It gets boring eating the same foods prepared the same way all the time. By finding new recipes it mixes things up a bit so it's not boring.
So many recipes offered on RU-vid are imprecise or exclude detail: I subscribed cuz your presentation is succinct, you offer an easy to print, detailed recipe, and ... I read this during a fall morning when anything "apple" combined with "easy to prepare" totally hits the spot. THANKS !!
Just made these. OMG! Delicious! Love the crunch on top and then the warm apples inside! And then the crust! Yes please. So good! Thx for a great recipe!
I was going to make an apple pie with crumble for Thanksgiving and I knew it would not go far. Your video just saved the day! Thank you for sharing. This will be a hit and plenty to go around for everyone.
Kaleb made your apple pie bar recipe and it’s a winner 🥇 so easy and tasty. My whole family loved them. Love your videos ❤ thank you for sharing your recipes 🍁
You can streusel anything, blueberries or peaches... I do this as date squares. I add 2-3 tbsp marmalade to date filling when I cook it with a 1/2 cup water. You can double, triple, etc this crumble mixture and keep it in the freezer. :)
Why wouldn't you mix the allspice and cinnamon with the sugar first, then throw into the apples?? Therefore, preventing unwanted clusters or pockets of spices in your dessert....
