I also feel that the name of the iPhone 11 plays a big role in the success of that phone because with the xr, the name alone made people feel as if the were getting an inferior phone to the flagship(iPhone XS) while with the iPhone 11 the name makes it seem as if that phone IS the flagship while e the pro modal are just extensions of the 11, it was a smart tactic by Apple honestly.
I'm a new iPhone 11 user. First iPhone ever. When it was time for me to move on from my Note 4, my options was the iPhone 11 or the Note 10. Very pleased with the 11. Very happy with iOS. Very satisfied with the price I paid.
Honestly? I won’t be upgrading from my iPhone X 256gb this year when its due because simply, I don’t need to. It’s still running as excellently as the day I opened it, there’s not a scratch on it either. As I get older, (I’m 28 now) honestly, I’ve got over the newest handset hype. I’ll upgrade when I need to, not when I can.
I guess it depends if you're on a contract with a carrier, why wouldn't you upgrade into a new battery and new hardware for the same price you're paying now?
Holographic Unicorn yeah, but who uses Samsung? I feel like if you go for that stuff it’s either because you want to needlessly mess around with the device (jailbreak) or don’t have the money for an iPhone.
The naming scheme for the iPhone 11 and 11 pro line was really smart because I don’t think people wanted a XR cause it was clearly the “budget” option. The iPhone 11 name makes it seem like the default option as opposed to a budget one.
Yeah I was annoyed that Verizon's choices to still have a micro SD card were so limited. My freaking $250 Huawei had one but I had to fork over $1100 in the store when I was put on the spot. It sucks. I mean it's a nice phone but I'd rather have not spent the money. I mean I never would have made the switch since my plan was cheaper if AT&T could have fixed whatever issue I was having in a timely manner but I can't even do my job without data service.
@DerpyDoge This is completly false. Iphones are luxury products that people buy even though they don't need them. If apple cared about the average user then they would have more affordable options. While the cheapest iphone is 700$ the cheapest samsung is 250$.
More affordable without compromise. Top of the line camera and processor, for a lower price. Not like the other that put a good screen and the rest is trash.
I love my 11 Pro Max and its battery life. I have upgraded from a 6S Plus, because I didn't feel the need to upgrade to anything in between this range. Battery life just had me do it. My ex-6S Plus still performs extraordinarily well. Cameras are a little outdated, but except that, still works just fine for my needs. Don't regret upgrading though.
I went from the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7 Plus, and now iPhone 11. It might not be the most expensive iPhone model but it sure is one of the best 🔥
I had the 6s for 5 years with no issues except for battery life and storage space. I knew the 7, 8, and X were stopgap company cash grabs, so I knew to wait until there were significant improvements. Had a major accident with my phone which meant it was time for an upgrade. The 11PM came out two weeks later, so I bought that. Way more than I expected to spend on a phone, but still no regrets. Got my friend to upgrade from the 8 to the 11PM as well. So much better.
It’s quite simple really, they know what consumers want out of a phone. Your average consumer doesn’t give a shit about “4K OLED displays, 4K 60 video recording, super whopper dooper slo motion video” They want a phone that can call, text and handle social media with ease and takes good photos. And the 11 does that all extremely well. The display is the best LCD display on the market, and again, the average consumer doesn’t care what resolution the screen is. And it has the wide angle camera. Far more useful to the social media generation than the telephoto Look what Sony have been doing with their phones and then look at how many people are buying them. Apple knows what the majority wants
xD3bod 828p but you tried IG. Also unless you’re using your phone at an unhealthy distance form your eyes you literally won’t be able to notice, hence why it’s called “retina” because it’s a limit to how much your eye can see at the optimal viewing distance.
Apple did really well at their 2019 September event when it comes to prices. Two subscription services for just $4.99/month each, solid iPad price, and a really smart iPhone price.
SLAIN NAME. Do U even know the iPhone 11? You’ll learn that it has 823p not 720p and still a great lcd on earth with no burn in. The standard flagship xR outsold every device with oled screens last year bcos it’s a flagship with budget screen. Watch this space
@@MzwandileHarmans 828p is not higher than 1080p, so the highest possible resolution of images or video you can view with a standard format is 720p Édit: it's also 828p not 823p lol
Nerd254 lmao ...I know 823p is less than 1080p. iPhone XR doesn’t have max resolution of 720p but 823p. So, on RU-vid it may show 720p as highest resolution you can select but it actually upscales 720p to 823p or descaled 1080p. Besides, the xR lcd is still better than some 1080p lcds
iPhone Xr got a significant price cut when they started assembling it in India. It's price went from $1,043 to $580 which is like $463 price cut and that's why it's still standing. The fact that pixel 3a failed was cuz it was launched at $560 in India.
FYI: The iPhone XR was the world's best selling smartphone in 2018 and 2019. So it was a success which deserves more acknowledgment than the iPhone 11.
Coming from a iPhone 6 and happy with my new iPhone 11. It did hit the sweet spot on features and cost. It is strange as when iPhone 11 was first released I was not impressed. I was waiting for SE2 but when this turned into a iPhone 9 I moved on. I am interested in the iPhone 12 5.4” but the 6.1” iPhone 11 is actually just right size wise. Coming from Touch ID I didn’t really get Face ID, but get it now. The iPhone 11 is a top device. I did consider moving to Google phone but Apple CarPlay meant I stayed. So yeah.
Apple can also thank the advent of PUBG mobile esports in India, China and Indonesia in mid 2019. I can't speak for other countries, but here in India around 95% of pro players play on an iPhone 11 pro max due to fewer frame drops and no lag issues on iOS. And this was a HUGE factor since pubgm made a carrer of a lot of players with multiple RU-vidrs gaining 5m+ subscribers. And when any viewer asked them during live streams which phone they should buy (happened more frequently than one might think), almost every single youtuber recommended either an iPhone 11 pro (or max) or XR if they were on a budget.
Steve Jobs created Apple and after returning to it made a revolution and a legendary company out of it. But Tim Cook made Apple unstoppable!!! Is there any market issue that this guy can't overcome? I just hope that after Tim Cook he will choose someone similar to him!!!
Search here on youtube ''why apple is better without steve jobs'' by frontpagetech of Jon Prosser (our current accurate leaker now with insider in Apple)
i love my 8 plus, its a 3 year old phone now but its still working perfectly. zero battery problems, still gets all the cool software updates, takes great photos. does the job ya know. i dont think ill upgrade to a new iphone for another two years so maybe the iphone 14?
Apple literally needs to do just one thing to sell more iPhones in India : Reduce the price. Most people only care for the sweet fruit logo on the back.
they can't, Apple is a luxury company. The high prices are a symbol of high standards and "class" if they lower the prices even more they would lose the luxury status they had
It's more expensive in India because of our country's tax system. It's not due to the company's pricing. They need to start manufacturing or assembling in India to reduce the taxes, similar to what Samsung does. If you didn't know, the Samsung S20 Ultra is cheaper here than the US/globally.
The iPhone prices rose but so did many high end smart phones from other manufactures like Samsung etc, the only difference is that Apple only sells high end phones, whereas Samsung sold around 17 different phones ( released new models ) last year, Apple released 3
As an Indian, I am pleased that Apple is finally reducing prices and hope they will continue to do so, because like I mentioned in one of my other comments, right now owning an iPhone here is like owning a limousine.
Eventually. The iPhone XR didn’t take hold until a bit later after launch, evidenced by Apple slowing down a lot of the production lines for the Xr. But yeah, after a while the Xr was really successful. It just looks Ike a flop on paper because it launched in a September, so a yearly report will show it underperforming.
@@LionsinofStraight I'm surprise there aren't more deals for the iPhone XR now. Most places still sell them at around $599. There are so many deals right now for the iPhone 11 that make it a better bargain. During Valentine's Day week, I purchased an iPhone 11 at Costco for $629 and received a $100 gift card. Gift cards suck, but it's technically $529 before taxes without any fees from Costco. There are even better deals out there if you switch carriers or add a line to your plans. Wished we had those types of promos for the iPhone XR. I wouldn't mind saving more money buying one for my daughter, but it just makes more sense to buy an iPhone 11 at this point.
Another thing is that the way they just said it had really a lot of new features made it look not like the cheap version, and also the variety in colors and the little gap between features in the pro models just catch attention. I really want an iphone 11!
I'm personally an Android user, but I own airpods pro, a macbook pro, imac etc. I'm interested in getting an iPhone as a secondary phone. Should I get the X, XR, 11, or that iphone 9 when it comes out? I just want one to try it for a year and see if I like it. I had the 8 plus but sold it as I really didn't like it personally. Are these any different? Thanks.
Just looked a little further into this. The 11 seems like a good choice as it has a better camera, a larger LCD display (no burn-in risk), and better specs. On the other, the X is cheaper and has a better quality display. I'll see how this goes. Thanks everyone!
In india one prevalent theme noticed is that the most heavy smartphone users are among the teens and people in their later 20s and early 30s. These people are the ones looking for phones that can quench their thirst of speed, elegance and battery life all but at an *affordable rate*. This is very important because these people are either students or people who are in their early working life so therefore they don't earn more and hence can't spend much. The thing is, everyone would like to own an iPhone, I have known friends and family who just want to own an iPhone even if it is for the brand name. These are hardcore iPhone fans. But after all their longing they can only afford to buy an old iphone 6. Yes, there are people who can also afford the luxury cost of iPhone right now but they are still less in number and also are mostly in late 40s or 50s, now these people are often not as enthusiastic about these devices as the youngsters which leads to these phones getting much less traction. Since feature packed budget and midrange phones can be provided by Chinese companies, people have no choice but to go to them. But if apple releases an iPhone which is even less in price to compete for this segment, I am sure iPhone will win it. It is a huge customer base, I can guarantee that. Trust me, if you apple fans out there can take our word to them, you will be in for a miracle.
One important but missing factor is, usually iPhone's are priced 20% higher in Chinese local currency RMB, than the the same model in USD converted to RMB directly using exchange rates. For the 2019 models, the same still applies for iPhone 11 Pro's, but NOT for iPhone 11, which is only
I am from India. One thing people are worried about is the pricing. Like, the new iPhone SE is launched with price tag 399$ , that is 30,000₹. But Indian market price is 42,500₹. 12,500₹ more, that is 165$ more. The taxes and other charges on imported devices should be reduced. That way apple will gain really great increase in sales in India
Naming is a big thing iphone 11 feels like a regular iPhone not a budget one. The 10r seems budget with naming. Also, like you said having the wide angle camera and the same processor was a big deal.
I think one of the "emerging" markets Apple is never going to get the idea about it is Brazil. Their last iMac costs up to US$ 105.000 (R$ 420.000) which is just crazily insane. The iPhone price overall keeps absurdly high, costing up to US$ 2.000 (R$ 10.000).
Kim Morais ----- The ones being absolutely absurd are the Brazilian government. The tax they add on is the highest in the world. It's good news for the airlines though because the price is so high that Brazilians just fly to Florida to buy Apple stuff.
#Apple #iPhone sales slowed down because people already have the Phone they want and then later $ale$ went up when people bought a new / upgraded Phone.
I am not even surprised, I knew the iPhone 11 were going to be a bomb. Good specs, new stuff and price similar to iPhone 7. What more the people want 😂?
SLAIN NAME no, that’s what you want. The average consumer doesn’t care about almost all of those things, hence the iphone 11’s success What person doesn’t have Bluetooth headphones these days as well. No one cares about the headphone jack anymore and Apple created that step forwards
James Saunders you said it there yourself “you won’t notice”, and you don’t, so again, you think the average consumer is going to care about what resolution a screen is? No. They don’t care. As long as it can take photos of their breakfast and upload it to instagram that’s enough for most people
My iPhone 11 Pro Max is very different from my 6s+ and that’s why I upgraded. I finally felt like they made a phone that I would really notice the difference and loved it! Also their lineup is more simple to where I can tell which is which and what has what!
@FBI iOS and Android are totally different. iOS is optimized to perfection but you can't do jack shit on it that Android is capable of (downloading from other sources and expandable memory for example), and vice versa Android and ultimately Android phones are unique in their own ways and catered to different audiences, hence iOS does "ruin" Android phones and Android would ruin iOS phones
Me, my aunt and my cousin still have iPhone 11’s in 2023. But I plan to upgrade to the 15 next year or in 2025, when the 11 stops getting software updates.
i'm extremely interested !!! in seeing what the SE 2's or (whatever name they give) will do to the used market, i'm defo expecting some of these price drops to be kinda drastic
Funny when Apple actually sells something at a reasonable price ($699 for the base 11), it becomes a massive success. Wish they kept that same logic with the base 14 models
There is one phycological reason as well i.e. the naming strategy. I believe that the revising the naming strategy, contributed the most in increased sales. When apple named "10R", it the name didn't sound like a mainstream iPhone but a cheap alternative.
I bought Iphone 11 with 256 gb, base on the reviews prior buying this phone, the pro and max and the 11 are just similarly alike well if not of the oled and telephoto. But Indont care of the oled, and most of the reviews they dont usually use Telephoto, thats why I decided to buy Iphone 11 256gb to maximize it more.
