I’ve had an Apple Watch since the very first one and I’ve had the ultra since it launched and honestly I’ve been really considering one of the ring health trackers over the watch. I’m a bit tired of the watch and don’t need all the notifications (yes I can turn them off) or the screen or the clunkiness on my wrist. Also would love better sleep tracking. I hope Apple does it soon.

My only grip would be that Apple has a new ring every year. What I love about OURA is you have one ring for 3-5 years. Most people have the same "basic" ring for YEARS. So hoping Apple allows users to keep the same current ring for a few years before another generation is announced.

Really like the concept of the fitness ring. The problem I have right now with a company like Oura is their approach to the data. Right now, they charge you a monthly fee to access the data it tracks, which I think is ridiculous. Hopefully Apple just allows you to access the information like they do on their watches if they release a ring like that... would definitely make me consider getting one

Its not for the purpose people think it is for. It was developed exclusively like a controller for apple vision. Think about it. Now in vision pro, for a single touch and some gesture, it has so many cameras, sensors, machine learning. Also because its not direct touch its not fully reliable and it doesn’t work if vision pro cant see your hand.

A tad hyperbolic, no? A ring doesn't replace a watch. That being said, I'd 100% buy an Apple ring Edit: just watched more of the video. You make it sound like the ring industry growing to 197 million within 8yrs is a big deal. The phone makes hundreds of billions. The proposed $ figure for the ring industry, if accurate, is tiny.

The problem is that oura warmed everyone to the idea of a health ring. Especially athletes. I personally want this to help my sleep, I tried Whoop, but it’s too expensive. I honestly wouldn’t mind a buy once $800 apple ring.
